Panaderia Monarca

My neighborhood panadería. Everything is fresh and you never have to fight crowds like at Arandas. The owner is usually there and is always sweet to my kids and I. Try the french rolls, they make them daily and are pretty much made for tortas.

Great quality bread. Comparable to El Bolillo their Bavarian cream rolls and cheese stuffed cuernos are awesome. Super friendly staff! No Spanish required just pick your bread in a tray and take it to the cashier..done all you have to say is Gracias!

I am so impressed with the birthday cake that Panaderia Monarca made for my son's party earlier this month. It was a 2-tier WWE cake that was not only beautifully done, but was so delicious as well. We'll be back soon!

I've never been to a panaderia before nor have I ever even tried a Mexican pastry, but I've always been intrigued. I noticed this little place in my neighborhood and decided to check it out. I'm glad I did. There was a wide assortment of breads and pastries that you can pick out with a pair of tongs and place on the available metal trays. Everything looked freshly made. I ended up buying four different sweets, an empanada cajeta, which from what I understand is a goat milk caramel empanada, a chocolate concha, which is a conch shaped bread, some kind of pineapple Danish and another bread that I don't know the name of. Everything was delicious. Again, this was only my first time trying Mexican pastries so I'm not sure how they would compare to similar products from other places. However, they tasted fresh and most importantly to me, they were not overly sweet. The chocolate concha didn't really taste like chocolate but it wasn't a big deal to me. I would definitely visit again to try some of their other offerings.

Great fresh bread. Conchas are my favorites, great Pan de muertos and roscas de reyes too

I liked this bakery pretty good and so close to me. So far I've only tried one pastry, but still yummy.

We decided to try this bakery out and it was a great decision! The bread is cheap in price but high in flavor! Loved all the breads we got! Empanadas were great too! They were baked hard so you can dip them in your coffee! Absolutely delicious!

Great Mexican-style bakery! Open every day and very friendly people working.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! I really wanted to give them ZERO stars but I had to give 1 star. I recently ordered a 2 tiered custom cake for my 2 daughter's birthday party this past Saturday 2/10. Within 10 mins of picking up the cake the top tier was sliding off towards the back. We still had to drive across town to the party destination. While in route the cake starts sliding around and gets heavily damaged as I'm holding the box trying trying to save it. At this point my daughter is in tears. There is nothing I can do at this point so I bring the destroyed cake into the venue and set it on the table with the top tier half hanging off the bottom tier. As the cake sits there the top tier falls completely off on the table. I could only use the top tier of the cake to sing happy birthday since the bottom tier was destroyed. I had someone call the bakery during the party to let them know what happened to the cake and took pictures so I could go back to show them. When I went in today to speak with them regarding the damaged cake and to show them the pictures the lady was not willing to work with me or give me any refund. She said it was not their fault!!!! She also said I should have drove back when I noticed the top tier was sliding and she would have made a new cake. Is she SERIOUS!!??? She was going to replace my 2 tiered custom cake in 30 mins.??? Are you freaking kidding me?!??? As a bakery that supposedly makes custom cakes for special events ,there was no support in the center of the cake at all to prevent the cake from moving around. The owner came out and would not work with me and said she would not refund my money because she would not be making any money. She got loud and was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and DID NOT care that my daughter's birthday was ruined!!!!!
