A Flavorful but Heavy Asian Street Food ExperiencePalmar, located at Julia and Henry's, is a widely recognized restaurant that I had been eager to try given the hype surrounding it. The menu primarily consists of small, medium, and large-sized Asian street food dishes. However, my experience left me a bit conflicted. While the portions are generous and the flavors are undeniably good, the dishes felt very heavy and not well balanced. It seemed like everything was deep-fried with some sauce on top. After eating about a third of the dish, I found myself craving some balance, perhaps some veggies or lighter options to complement the heaviness.Large dishes are priced around 20-25 dollars, and while the portions are large, you are essentially paying for the atmosphere, as this is quite expensive for street food. All in all, if you're in the mood for flavorful fried food, Palmar is a good option. Just don't expect much balance in the dishes. It's a place to indulge in rich, heavy flavors but may leave you wanting something lighter afterward. My Criteria:5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price.4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again.3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to.2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again.1 star: This restaurant should be closed.

I have been to the original restaurant in Wynnwood where I had a delicious authentic meal and was happy to see this stall in Julia and Henry's. The menu had good variety, as I was walking around with friends trying different items, I decided the pork belly bao buns would be good to order. The buns were ready pretty quickly. The bun had good texture not too gummy, not too hard and the pork belly was just yummy!

Palmar is a modern Latin blended Asian street food stall located on the second floor of the new Julia and Henry food all. They are one of several Asian food stalls throughout the building.Palmar is the creation of restaurateur Javier Ramirez who cofounded award winning Miami restaurants such as Alter, Bachour, La Natural and Palmar. In 2021 Palmar was voted Miami's Best Chinese Restaurant by the Miami New Times. After their lease expired in Wynwood, they moved to Julia and Henry's. The menu at Palamar includes fried chicken or pork belly bao buns, papaya and radish salads, Korean fried grouper, and vegetable lumpia. My friend ordered the vegetable lumpia (2 crispy spring rolls in sweet chili sauce) for us to try. I wasn't a fan of the vegetables in the filling although I liked the hint of cinnamon imparted by the five spice seasoning. The bao buns flying out of the kitchen looked really good and I would order those next time.

Limited menu since it's a food stall now located at the newly opened Julia and Henry's downtown food hall but the spicy pork noodles dish did not disappoint. Not as spicy as I was expecting which is ok for me, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the pork was very tasty. Portions were adequate for the price and location and service was excellent and very fast considering how packed this place was for lunch.Ambiance is one of the best things about this location but parking isn't convenient so keep that in mind...I'd Uber/Lyft here to avoid that hassle. This joint has a good reputation since their Wynwood location so I recommend it for sure. There a few other items I'd like to try like the pork belly bao buns but let's save for that for next visit.

We stumbled into this place and I'm so glad we did! They're located in the market and have really good food. They're super friendly and it only took about 2 to 4 minutes to make my bao buns. The bao buns had incredible flavor and were unexpectedly delightful. The pork belly was a tiny bit tough but that could just be the nature of things. I will say they give you SO much pork belly so it makes up for it. If I lived in Miami this would be a staple for me. Also the prices are fair.

Located inside Julia and Henry food hall, this Asian street food stall is located at the end of the second floor. They have a little bar top area in front for three people where you can eat and watch the orders being made. Food is divided into 3 size categories small, medium, and large. We shared a medium pork belly bao buns with 3 per order. These are the first bao buns I've ever actually enjoyed the bun part. They were tasty and sweet but could probably use a little more cucumber or something fresh, crisp, or pickled to pep it up a bit. We ordered through the website and picked up when the text said it was ready. Pick up seemed a little confused for staff but hopefully will get better as time does on.

The fried chicken bao buns were so yummy and flavorful. The bao bun was light and fluffy, the fried chicken super crispy, and topped with a tasty sauce and kimchi. Would definitely get again but also want to try other things on the menu! We also had the vegetable spring rolls which were crispy but the filling was mushy and didn't taste like vegetables (the only reason I gave 4 stars).

The tastiest Asian street food in a really fun environment. Every bite is a flavor bomb and full of creativity. My faves were the chicken bao and the veggie curry--all the spices and the textures! An instant fave at the new Julia & Henry food hall. So happy you are back Palmar!

Absolute rip-off. I spent $41 on an order of 3 shrimp bao buns, a papaya salad, and a bottle of water. Each bao bun contained exactly ONE shrimp. Not a jumbo shrimp either. They tasted fine but absolutely nothint to write home about. Below average quality. The Papaya Salad was awful. Not sure what kind of 'fusion' they attempted there, but it has nothing to do with a classic Papaya salad. I left hungry and feeling like I was robbed. Avoid this place like the plague.
