Food was mid / bland. No saltService folks were nice Ambiance is great. One burrito and 3-4 sides and two drinks + tip = 50$ I think at that price point, this place is not worth it.... If it was 15 dollars a person maybe.

Where do I even begin? We arrived saddened to learn that the Brookside Bodega is closed. We were told by the bartender on site on Sunday that the bodega had a lot of drama and is now a Mexican restaurant. We went to the restroom to wash our hands before ordering. There were no paper towels in the bathroom (aside from the crumpled pile of them on the floor). This was quite surprising as there were not any customers in the restaurant so the staff had plenty of time to stock the paper towels. Also surprising was how sticky, and wet the bar top was. We sat at the bar so we requested that the bartender clean the bar top and edge of the bar so we could sit in a clean space. The bartender acted like she was deaf or hard of hearing and we had to repeat everything we said to her multiple times. She finally understood that the bar top was disgusting and attempted to spray cleaner on the bar top to clean it. She sprayed the cleaner on ME instead. We then made the mistake of ordering their house made margarita. We asked what was in the house made margarita and the 'deaf' bartender did not know. House made? But the bartender does not know what is in the margarita? We should have left then. You can see the margarita that she served me in the picture. Where is the rest of my drink?! The glass was already tiny but then to not even fill the glass was shocking. I mentioned this (twice since she responded 'what' or 'huh' to everything we said, and she said she put the number of ounces she was supposed to put. I advised that they invest in smaller glasses if that is the case. The margarita was completely undrinkable. It was a sugary syrup of God knows what because even the 'bartender' had no clue as to what was in it! We paid nine dollars each for the two poor excuses for margaritas and left the place to go eat elsewhere. We could not risk eating there after seeing how gross the rest of the place was and after not even being able to stomach the nasty margarita. We will not be back until the location changes to something else.

This spot has been several different food spots over the years but I think Otomi will serve the neighborhood well. We stopped in to this spacious cantina and had birria and Al pastor tacos, a good place will do these justice, Otomi's were over the top! Quick service, a friendly faces, and top notch food is a recipe for success!Great spot for a casual date, dinner before the show, or a quick taco fix.

I think this is a solid place. As a Mexican person I am with you Raleigh in the fact that we don't need another Mexican spot. With that said, I think it's nice to have a community place and I was a big fan of brookside bodega so this is a hard thing for me to say but I do think that this place has potential. The waiter greeted us with water and was so kind. Tacos are $4 each but they are overstuffed with meat. The Al pastor and carne asada tacos were great. The guacamole was solid. Very authentic consistency in their meals. I'm happy to continue to visit this place and give them a shot at this community spot. Lord knows it's better than falafel and co. I'm a fan and hope they do well!

Blackened shrimp taco and carne asada. Everything was so greasy yet dry at the same time. The shrimp wasn't blackened as described on the menu. also got the chicharron en salsa verde and the pork belly was not crispy at all and mostly just soft chunks of fat. They were out of all drinks I tried to order. Will not return.

You can't go wrong with the hospitality here. Every single staff member is engaging and friendly. The atmosphere is spot on. Festive decor, Latino music, beautiful outdoor plantings. The food is delicious, especially the sauces that are available. And oyster mushroom as a protein option.....so appreciated. The beer on tap is good. Haven't tried the wine yet. I will definitely be back often.

I never liked Brookside, the food was not only bland but overhyped and low quality. Otomi's food is delicious and fresh! The staff are friendly and helpful. It's still working out it's kinks and getting settled so I'm not too harsh on anything. I think it's the perfection addition to the neighborhood. In the future I'd love to see a salsa bar to pair with their homemade chips! The only thing that irks me the wrong way is the price, I think it could they could be lowered a tad!

They did a nice job transitioning this from Brookside Bodega. The tacos were great. Shrimp tequila app was very flavorful. Brightly colored. Beautiful murals. An overall pleasant vibe. And our server Kate was awesome 5/5.

I wanted to love this place because I love supporting local, but the food was so disappointing. Guac was bland, tacos had no flavor I even used the lime from my drink because I used all the other ones on my plate to make things taste better (I had Al pastor and shrimp taco) the tortillas were dry and fell apart, and the corn wasn't fresh I could tell it was frozen out of a bag, it was chewy. Overall just not good at all. There is so many taco places and trucks around now, you definitely have to either have amazing food or something else special going on. Sadly I won't be back.
