Hands down, my favorite local Italian restaurant. When you walk into the restaurant, the atmosphere, it takes you out of Miami and into an authentic Little Italy somewhere around the world! The service has been great for the 8+ years I've been coming back here. I'm ashamed to admit I can't recall the name of the Maître d', but he's amazing. You always feel like you were just there 3 days ago in the most welcoming way. I have never had a bad food experience here... I recommend this place to anyone that ask me for amazing Italian food or a nice low key restaurant that still maintains it's elegant vibe!

If you are up for Italian food and around the Kendall area, this casual cozy Osteria will surprise you. The spot is not pretentious at all, it is more along the lines of Miami's suburban areas, so you might miss it if you are not careful enough to spot it while driving by.We went to dinner on a weekday and were welcomed by JC, the host and server. He had a table ready for us, as we already had a reservation, and right away sent the other waiters to refresh us with some water, as he presented the wine menu. There were plenty of options, from Chianti to Piedmont, and we opted for a recommendation from JC, a Puglia wine that was one of the best things we tried during our dinner. As an appetizer, we tried the fried calamari, with zucchini and lemon. An option I wouldn't order again as it didn't have anything special. Just a simple fried calamari with a regular dipping sauce. Then some of us were encouraged to order the specials, like the Bistecca ai Ferri (Grilled Skirt Steak ), which was tender enough to easily slice through. This would be my favorite dish (something very odd, as being an Italian restaurant you expect the pasta to be superb). The second-best dish could be the ravioli di mare topped with pink wine sauce). This type of pasta is not the one I would ever order, but it surprised me how good the consistency was. Then I could state the Ravioli di Zucca Burro e Salvia, Fresh homemade ravioli filled with ricotta, pumpkin, and amoretti cookies in a butter sage sauce. The pasta was al dente and the filling was very tasty, but a little bit too sweet. If you are a sweet tooth kind of person, definitely this is your choice. I love sweet stuff, but this was too much, even for me, still, I would give it the third and final place, and this is because I wouldn't suggest the other two dishes.JC was friendly enough to split my plate so I could try the ravioli ricotta, as well as the Penne Zucca e Pancetta because I was undecided on which to order. The Penne was al dente, but the cheese sauce was too heavy and the Zucca was just sliced and mixed in the sauce, not adding any real value to the dish the worst part is that it was not real pancetta, it supposedly was prosciutto, but to be honest it didn't taste like it. At least having the options of the two dishes combination balanced out the sweetness of the Ravioli. And the most disappointing dish to me was the Paglia e Fieno ai Funghi which was supposed to be bathed in Truffle oil, but I never tasted it. The pasta was so dipped in sauce that it wasn't even al dente and that's a killer for me.The overall problem with the pasta was that the chef suffocates them in sauce, and if they were genuine, only with a scent of sauce it would be more than enough to excel.I do have to admit that I was obsessed with the garlic warm bread served on the table, I couldn't stop eating it...In the end, the extra sauce from the pasta worked perfectly for dipping the bread with it, and always asked for it to be served warm, it makes all the difference. For Desserts, they brought some classic cannoli, which were too stiff and the cream was glued to it. We also had a white chocolate, lemon mascarpone with a scoop of ice cream , that actually was pretty refreshing because it balances the sweet and bitter on a sweet tasty spot.I would actually like to give it 3 stars and a half, but there is no option for it, still I would stop by this Italian restaurant if I'm around and hungry for pasta and of course the garlic warm bread !

I was invited here for a rehearsal dinner and all I have to say is wow! The service was amazing, and the food was delicious. When you walk in they make you feel very welcomed and like part of the family. It was my first time trying octopus and it was amazing. The pasta didn't leave me feeling bloated and the bread they serve before the dinner was too good to not ask for seconds! Definitely recommend this italian restaurant and I will be coming back.

Always a top spot for delish unique Italian cuisine! Most weekends you should call ahead and book a reservation as it is a small place and fills up quick. We ordered 2 glasses of the house Malbec which was good. For a starter we ordered the muscles and clams, white wine sauce which was more buttery than garlicky. For entrees we got the ravioli di spinach with 3 tomatoes as well as the special for the night, which was a three trees, ravioli with fig. For dessert we ordered the affogo a must have so save some room! Overall, a great evening with delicious food will definitely be back again

This place is all the way in Kendall. It's the place I went with a date. I would have never gone to this place otherwise. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambience, how the owners are running the restaurants. There are three waiters that have been there for many years. They know all their clients. The clients have a special table. I had the branzino, grilled branzino with a size of mixed sauteed mushrooms in garlic and olive and parsley white wine. That was to die for. He had the grilled skirt steak, which was amazing. It came with fries and mixed vegetables. We had a little size of pasta that was al dente, perfect pair with a nice bottle of wine suggested by our server. The ambience is a family style, very nice, only 10 tables. Spectacular. Can't wait to go back.

We decided to celebrate our Valentine's Day after the mad rush was over. We checked the reviews and they were all amazing. We made our reservations and were so excited. It's a small place but what they lack in space they more than make up for in spectacular service and such a welcoming attitude. Before we walked in we were immediately greeted and treated like family. The menu has a little bit of everything and the best thing is they will allow you to substitute items. Our server (Uriel) was the best!!!! His passion was so genuine and he was asking us questions on what we liked to ensure our meal was perfect and it was!!!! This place is what all restaurants should strive for. Treat your customers like family and make their experience as wonderful as possible. We loved everything about Osteria. We will definitely come back to try our other amazing dishes. If you're carving some Italian food and amazing service look no further.

The place leaves a lot to be desired...The owner caters to the customers that look like they have money. He's pretentious and rude. The place is small and crowded. The food was awful, an Italian restaurant that can't cook pasta. Incredible no taste at all and the noodles were HARD.The prices are way over the top for the food quality, I would say you can get a better meal at Olive Garden...that should tell you how bad the food was. Never again! The staff is the only thing it has going for it. Don't waste your money here.

This place is a gem. Excellent service, small restaurant, but warm pleasant dining room. Food was very good. I ordered off menu a primavera pasta with red sauce and it was excellent. Bean soup was also top notch. Unfortunately, we did not order desserts. It's far from my home, but hope to return soon.
