Osaka Asian Cuisine

This is our second time coming. The food was fantastic, the service was amazing, and the owner is a very nice guy. He came to check on us, twice in our first visit, and remembered us when we went again. The food was to die for.

I've had a couple people at work recommend Osaka but I'd never been, despite it being fairly close to home. I didn't eat in today either, just grabbed takeout for my wife and I, but I will 100% be back.I arrived maybe 10 minutes earlier than my order said, around 6:15 on a Friday and they were already PACKED. Nearly every table full and 8 or 9 takeout orders ready to go. None mine, but that was expected. For the 10 minutes I waited, they gave me a seat at the counter to wait, I was treated to an endless parade of incredible smells coming from the kitchen.The staff was attentive and exceeding friendly to those already at tables, and those walking in, and once my food was ready the woman at the counter checked it multiple times, something I appreciated given how many other takeout orders I've had in the area that ended up being short an item.Once I got home and was able to start eating, we were very happy with all the food, though it did end up being WAY too much. I over ordered, not knowing how big anything was.Highlights for me were definitely the "Amazing Tuna" and "Toro on Fire" rolls, my wife enjoyed her Steak Teriyaki, and we both liked the Pork Dumplings. The Tempura Taro was also tasty, though the sauce that came with it wasn't a great match.Overall, Osaka was a great way to wrap up the week and not have to cook when I was exhausted. This is probably my new go-to for Asian food in the area.

Placed a large order online for takeout a few days ago for an early family dinner. They use the Toast platform which I have used before with other restaurants. Since it was not a busy hour, I thought I would try their curbside pickup option. The roll combo sushi option had a soup or salad accompaniment but there was no way to choose what soup or to know what kind of soup was available. We winged it and let the kitchen decide. After ordering, we drove to the empty parking lot and waited. Five minutes past the time the order would be ready, I went in. Two workers were sitting in the dining room on their phone, one behind the sushi counter and a fourth at the register. Two orders were sitting on the shelves behind it. I went to the register and indicated I was here because I was waiting for the curbside but came in when it appeared no one was coming out. The cashier asked me to wait a minute while he finished something. He then asked the name on the order. I provided my name and order number. He said, "oh you are a Door Dash order?" No, I said, I was curbside and showed where on my phone it said curbside. He said "we don't do curbside." Hmmm. Ok. He then took one of the two orders off the shelf and looked in the bag reading off what was in the bag saying "That's a lot of sushi." And handed me the bag. The sushi itself was very good but not exceptionally better than the nearest competitor. There are some interesting combinations. We tried the Roll combo, spicy girl roll, Downingtown roll, tuna avocado roll, salmon avocado roll, and coconut roll. The rock shrimp were not the expected crawlers/crawfish but large shrimp with some sort of coating, deep fried and served with spicy mayo. Ambience is upscale, a bit dark with white tablecloths. The front of the house could use a bit more training.

My boyfriend and I love sushi and honestly have a hard time eating sushi elsewhere after having Osaka. We came on the first night it opened and they didn't have enough chefs so the wait was long. They comped the whole meal. We've been back almost weekly since and each experience is better than the next. Gerry greets us with a handshake every time we go. We are regularly given a "chefs special" that is amazing. We've sat both inside and out and service is top notch. Patio is dog friendly. BYOB allows us to spend more on sushi. Crispy rice tuna is a staple.

Great sushi and poke bowls in Downingtown! I've been twice for lunch and enjoyed it both times.I sat outside on the patio. Will be back for dinner soon.

Fantastic presentation and attention to detail. We love the Shrimp Shumai and the Pork Dumplings as appetizers. Rolls are reasonably priced and very enjoyable. Some of our favorites include Salmon Avocado, Spider Roll, Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Yellowtail, Unagi, and Spicy Tuna. All fresh and flavorful. The Mochi Ice Cream is delicious and some of the best I've had in a long time. The staff is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is classy and the design is modern. A great option for outings ranging from dates to business lunches.

Saw recently opened and gave a try by ordering takeout food. As we entered the restaurant to pick up, we were greeted and acknowledged that our vegetarian poke bowl was getting ready. They got our vegetable fried rice already made. The restaurant ambiance is so welcoming and nicely arranged. There is a huge sushi bar station and three chefs preparing sushi rolls constantly. The sushi boats looked amazing as the waitress carried them. We got our take out food after 15 minutes' wait. The vegetarian Poke Bowl was perfectly made and loved it. The entire family liked the vegetable fried rice and well made. I also asked for their hot oil, and it was tasty. I got some fortune cookies as well.I will definitely order the fried rice from here. Nice place to get some quality food.

We came in for a late lunch and it was great. The ambiance is calm and soothing. From the moment we stepped in the staff was super friendly. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly.We orderedAppt- dumplings- delicious and full of flavorMain course - triple delight - very good, highly recommend it. Comeback sushi roll was very flavorful. Will definitely visiting again.

Every decent Asian restaurant deserves at least two, or ten, visits, so let's see how the second try turned out...Eternal Love sushi roll, very good, maybe a 7.5. Very fresh but not crazy with flavor.Steamed pork dumplings...again very tender and a bit light on flavor. Another 7.5.Cashew Chicken, excellent, lots of cashews, very tender chicken, and a cornucopia of veggies from celery and baby corn to bamboo shoots. An 8.Honey Walnut Shrimp...sweet, perfectly cooked, no shortage of walnuts, 8.5.Yes Dorothy, I think the area has a winner...

Came for lunch on a Saturday on their third week of opening. From the greeter to the server, service was friendly and prompt. We ordered the 3 roll and sushi lunch specials and were pleased with the quality of the fish and prep; some places overdo it on the rice:filling balance, this restaurant did not. Plating was lovely. Only one star docked for the salad... the dressing was very very runny (pool of water at the bottom of the bowl) and the lettuce was a little big for mouth bites to not be messy. Otherwise will try again - there were several stopping in for takeouts and others trying their Chinese dishes, too.
