I was apprehensive of coming because the reviews made me worried. However, these reviews are coming from people who don't know how to read or are abusing the system. So allow me to tell you first off, 18% tip is added to EVERY check, no matter how many people are in the party. It says this on the rules by the table. Why? I think it's because people in NC don't tip/don't tip well (I know this first hand working at a job that allows tipping). Second, the $1 fee added to every piece of food you don't eat? That's probably tacked on if you're leaving too much food leftover. I ordered the coconut shrimp and there was a piece with a vein in it so I left it on the plate and told them. They didn't charge me. They also didn't charge us for any shrimp tails we didn't eat. It's really not that bad, you guys. Just stop wasting food. Order lightly and if you're hungry, you can always order more. The restaurant atmosphere is okay, nothing special. We sat in a booth and it was nice to not have people near us. Service is outstanding! We only pressed the light once to notify them that we were ready for more. Other times? They were quicker than us. The staff were friendly and we didn't feel any judgment from them, they were attentive and super fast. As for smiling? They wore masks so we couldn't see...but they were friendly. Food was good and plenty. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the calamari and the eel (maybe my taste buds have changed because I haven't really liked eel recently). Everything else was good. We had 3 rolls each, sashimi was really nice and fresh, udon noodles, hibachi, calamari, miso soup, gyoza, green tea icecream, red bean icecream, and 2 beers each. This was definitely a good choice to celebrate my birthday. I miss Sushi X in CT so when I found a similar concept to AYCE with writing down your order, I was set on coming here. I look forward to our next visit here!

Over 10 years had passed since my last visit, so I was hoping the restaurant had changed for the better. Unfortunately, I was wrong.I got their all-you-can-eat sushi deal during a weekday lunch, priced at $21 per person. My friend and I found the sushi selection to be disappointingly limited. The menu offered nigiri or basic classic rolls, both disproportionately heavy on rice. It felt like I was consuming a bowl of rice with a hint of fish with every bite. Moreover, any desire for specialty rolls (albeit the 2 deep fried rolls on the lunch menu) was met with an additional $10 charge, which was exclusive to the dinner menu.Adding to the disappointment, I discovered that the minimum acceptable tip was set at 18%. Attempting to tip 15% due to the lunch hour service, I was informed by the waiter that 18% was the lowest acceptable gratuity. This experience soured our meal since we were only a party of 2 people. I have no intention of returning.

Came for the AYCE sushi & it did NOT disappoint. Fresh fish, crispy coconut shrimp & yummy dessert! I did not get photos of the miso soup and edemame, but both were also delicious! The soup was amazing for the chilly day. Service was top-tier: they came by the table often and cleared our table of the used plates almost instantly. They answered questions and even brought our beer and poured it into the chilled glass for us. FYI - 18% gratuity is included in your total! (It's 20% for parties of 10 or more people)10/10 - DEF RECOMMEND

Came to orchid for all you can eat lunch after seeing it highlighted on Instagram. The cooked food was good. We had the shrimp tempura, shumai, seaweed salad, miso soup, and crab Rangoon, which were all very good. Our issues came when we started ordering from the Sushi menu. The nigiri had a very small portion of fish and their rice is very gummy. We also ordered some rolls, but were displeased with the quality of fish that was being used (we had to send rolls back as the fish was very tough). The ratio of the fish to the other ingredients in the rolls was disappointing and often times off putting (very large chunks of cream cheese to fish for example). I understand that it's all you can eat, but it was to a point where I felt at the price I was already paying wasn't reflective of the quality or quantity of the food and I won't will not be coming back In the future.

I've always been a sucker for all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants, and this was the first one I've tried in the area. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive, always making sure we had enough to drink and our order cards never sat long. My personal favorites were the Kirin, Tiger, and Honey Bee rolls. It's reasonably priced and we had a great time. That combined with the excellent service, we'll definitely be back.

We came here for AYCE sushi dinner for my friend's birthday. $29 per person, a pretty big menu to order from including appetizers and dessert, and the service was very fast. You also have the option of designing rolls yourself. Although the food itself is not stellar - food quality is not the point of coming here! The food materials were fresh (important baseline for AYCE) and the experience was quite fun. All the staff here are very friendly, and I'm so glad my friend could have a good birthday celebration here!

Such a fun and delicious date night! Went here on Friday, January 21 2022 which was actually a snow day in Raleigh. After driving around and finding that most restaurants were closed due to the snow, I was so excited to see that Orchid was open - I had been wanting to test out this place! We were seated immediately and did the "all you can eat" dinner option. The service was SUPER QUICK and our food was amazing! Not a bad price if you are a sushi lover and come in hungry! Service was also very friendly and attentive throughout our entire time.We ordered spring rolls, edemame, salmon sashimi and salmon nigiri for the first round. Then for sushi we got the following rolls: dragon, jalapeno, seafood, tiger, and butterfly. It was all INCREDIBLE.- to wrap things up, we also got vanilla and red bean ice cream! those were awesome :) I wish I could rate this 10 stars, but could only stop at 5 lol! Definitely recommend this spot in Raleigh!

Always delicious with many choices. Great service. Introduced to this restaurant while visiting my daughter and son-in-law. It's become a regular stop.

Over the years the price has significantly increased and the quality has significantly decreased. Pick one, not both. Granted I've only had the AYCE but I imagine that her options aren't much better.

Their farmer's market roll USED TO BE one of my favorite meals. After today, not anymore! One word to describe...AWFUL!!! The rolls were MUCH SMALLER and the tiny bit of avocado was already turning brown. YUCK!!! I will never go there again!
