This place is really good. Probably our favorite place for sushi in Broomfield. The roll's don't have a lot of rice on them like a lot of other places.I'm spoiled growing up in Southern California when it comes to sushi so it's not the best I've had. However, for Colorado it's some of the best. The shumai wasn't worth ordering but everything else was, the Toro tuna salad, the 1/2 duck and the rolls. I would say this place is definitely a four star.I gave it a five star because in relation to other sushi in Colorado. The ambiance is nice, not extravagant but nice. Service was good, he checked on us 4-5 times.Ultimately we will come back, it's good, it's not earth shattering but still could be one of our common go to places.Recommended & happy eating!!

It is always disappointing when one of your favorite local restaurants goes downhill. Ooka this time charged extra money to put chicken into a curry that always come with the chicken for me as a substitute for the eggplant which I cannot eat due to allergies. They charged for brown rice before the very first time and never have before. They messed up the spring rolls and charged extra to correct them when they made the mistake. Then when they gave us the new spring rolls, there were no shrimp in them whatsoever. Last time they screwed up, they were going to make it up to us, later but they never did. When speaking to them, there was a level of disc surface not professional. We have given them lots of business, and this level of disrespect is not acceptable. I know that if they lose business with us, then they are losing business with others as well.

Ooka is a good little sushi and general Asian food place to go if you are with family or friends that maybe don't want sushi but this would be the first place to try it.Is the sushi mind blowing good? No. Is the sushi acceptable for Broomfield, CO? Very much so.Whenever I get sushi here I am happy with the quality both in ingredients used and rolling technique. I have been to higher rated sushi places where the rolling is sloppier. Ooka tends to cut their sushi pieces into smaller sizes than some places which I appreciate because I don't like the big pieces that you really need to work through. If sushi is supposed to be bite sized and able to fit into your mouth all in one go...it better be that way for any piece. This might be something that I got used to with sushi places elsewhere but I appreciate that they put the little crunchy bits in their basic rolls. It provides a nice bit of texture for the otherwise chopped up fish mush. For me that elevates a generic spicy tuna roll to be something more. I think the spicy tuna, spicy shrimp, and yellowtail jalapeño rolls are all worth a shot when you go. I don't normally get speciality rolls when I go but I have tried the Hula and Ooka rolls in the past and they were both good. So, that is the sushi side of the menu. I have also been in moods where I didn't want sushi and have ordered their tempura meal and sesame chicken and both were fantastic. The sesame chicken was better than you would get at some Chinese food spots in the area. This is why I think this is a good middle ground location for sushi and non-sushi eaters eating together. The service is always very respectable when I have gone. They don't bother you too much but are polite and quick. The interior is nothing special but takeout will be your friend here. If you call and order or use their website make sure you check for deals. They always have a good "spend a specific amount and get blank free". You might hit the amount anyway so might as well give it a shot. I have noticed these deals are not on GrubHub and what not so keep that in mind. Go to their website which I believe is the ookasushi666.com one.

Service was ok, but not winning any awards for personality there:/ Vietnamese spring rolls were very good to start, but our entrées were not very exciting. I ordered shrimp pad Thai, which was very orange, and didn't taste like any pad Thai I've ever had & I've been to Thailand. My friends dish was very bland as well. Didn't even finish our meals but left feeling extremely bloated and kind of nauseous. Not sure if the sushi is any better and that's their strong suit or not because we were recommended this place as I'm new to town. The only reason we went here is because sunflower across the street was closed today for the holiday And we had our heart set on Thai. Not sure if I'll even want to give them a chance for sushi honestly.

I must admit, I was skeptical before I tried Ooka. Their menu is HUGE and includes Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and all sorts of asian fusion. It makes you wonder what their real specialty is, but turns out, they do everything surprisingly well! Here's a few things I've ordered, all of which I have liked: - Sesame chicken (with white rice and steamed broccoli) - Dynamite Roll- Las Vegas Roll - yellowtail sushi- salmon sushi- potstickers - gyoza- veggie tempura- Thai Iced Tea I really haven't been disappointed by anything. You really can't go wrong with the sesame chicken, it's a great balance of light and crispy batter, tangy sauce with a little kick, and tender chicken within (though the broccoli could be steamed better). The dynamite roll is also, well, dynamite. It's a special roll with deep fried spicy salmon/eel/cream cheese combo. Great combo of sweet and spicy with a nice texture. The Las Vegas roll is also top shelf, which is lobster tempura, eel, cucumber, avocado within, and spicy scallops & mango on top. Again a really strong compliment of flavors and textures. I wouldn't call it my favorite sushi place in town (it's currently #2 but potential to take #1), but it is certainly my top overall "Asian" option. With so many options and consistency in taste + quality, I applaud the effort here and say keep it up!

Honestly the food quality was great, the sushi was absolutely delicious but the service was honestly the worst part of the visit. They were not welcoming at all and we felt very rushed, almost as if they didn't even want us there. I went with two friends who all work in food service so we understand how hard it can be. Almost as soon as we sat down we asked if we were ready to order, nobody greeted us as they dropped off menus, nobody really checked on us to ask if we were doing okay, as we were paying we all laid out our cards (I understand this can be annoying) and the server asked us "Do you guys do this everywhere you go?" In a very passive aggressive tone. I'll continue going here but I do hope the service improves.

I agree with what a poster below said. Their quality has fallen. Their suishi used to be satisfying and now we always feel bloated and queasy when we eat here. We ordered the tofu suishi to try on our last visit and it was just gross.
