Olivo has a great selection of food and wraps for those that are seeking good Mediterranean food. We started with their hummus which was just okay, it has more of a nutty flavor which so it wasn't our preference. The two wraps we ordered definitely made up for that. We got the beef and chicken wrap. They were both juicy and delicious. They give you a good amount of food for the price. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get a good meal or for take out.

Olivo is located in the strip mall on the Northeast corner of University Drive and Sunrise Boulevard, toward the back of the plaza between Papa Johns Pizza and Caspian Grill. It has a plain dining room that seats about 25 (give or take 5). The place was kinda empty on a Saturday evening. But there were at least three take-out orders within the hour that we dined in, and another group walked in as we left.We ordered the Jerusalem Mix (lamb, chicken, and beef sauteed with onions and peppers) and the Mixed Grill, which featured a skewer of chicken, a skewer of lamb, and one of kafta (ground beef). Both were were served with rice and were accompanied by a salad. On receiving my beautiful salad, I realized it had lots of raw, red onions. (I am horribly allergic to raw onions.) So, I proceeded to pick the onions out and put them on my husband's salad. Then, I began to eat the salad. The server must have noticed because she came over and asked if the salad was OK. When I told her my dilemma, she offered to get me a new one. But I already had picked off all the onions and had started eating it, so I told her not to bother. It was the beginning of a very scrumptious meal. The green and red cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes (and onions) were covered with a delicious dressing that tasted like olive oil, lemon juice, and spices. We ate every bit of the salad. Then came the two entrees. The Mixed Grill was good. But I found the lamb and the chicken a tad dry and used the garlic paste that came with the meal, along with pieces of grilled tomato, to offset the slight dryness. The ground beef was absolutely perfect. There were no actual skewers on the plate, just pieces of each kind of protein. The Jerusalem Mix was divine! The pieces of meat were tender and juicy and flavorful. We ate every drop of the meal scraping up every bit of the rice and light gravy. (If I had pita bread, I would have sopped up that gravy.)On getting the bill, we noticed the prices were a tad higher. There was an automatic charge for using a credit card, one that apparently would have been deducted once we paid with cash. I advised the server that they ought to let customers know this in advance, and she showed me a sign that was on the counter for take-out orders that spelled out the policy. She said they were getting more signs and new menus that would point out the extra charge. The bill for two entrees (no appetizers, no beverages, no desserts) including tax, tip, and credit card surcharge was $64.I really wish Yelp would introduce half stars. I probably would give this place 4.5 stars. (And go back hoping to raise it to a 5.) But when I had to choose between 4 and 5, I really do think the food and the service deserved to be bumped up. We will be returning to try the gyro, the shawarma, and perhaps get some more kafta. One thing is for sure, that Jerusalem Mix will be on our table each and every time.

Hungry for lunch and tired of French fries, I convinced my family to go for Mediterranean food during an outing visiting local family. The location has its own parking lot and we found plenty in the middle of the afternoon. The restaurant has a few tables and we were sat immediately. Everything smelled so good and we could see the kitchen taking fresh pita breads out of the oven--as if we weren't hungry enough! We ordered the lunch specials: lamb kebab, gyros meat, and chicken shawarma (split between two). We also added two orders of pita bread. The lamb was tender and juicy, the flavors in everything was spot on. We were happy as can be.The only downside was that the tv was playing news from Gaza which had graphic images (our kids are elementary age and it was intense). We asked kindly and they changed it to music, but seemed annoyed. Overall a great experience.

This is right next to a Mediterranean market. No fuss, just great food and even better service. It's a family business, and they definitely know great taste. We loved everything we ordered. I was particularly impressed that the lambchops are quite lean and super tender!

Went to dinner at Olivos's, and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the menu, and selections, and the food was outstanding. We had some delightful baba ghanoush, and a Greek salad, which was perfectly seasoned, and a platter of lamb chops, which me and my friend were able to share. The server was very kind, and when we were leaving, he gave us a bit of baklava to sample, which was divine. I highly recommend this Mediterranean restaurant in the Plantation area, although I believe they've been there a year. I will definitely be back, and can't wait to bring the rest of the family.

They are new in town, and worthy of some love.We began with baga ghanoush that had the flavor and texture nailed, and came with heated pita as a bonus. Then on to a lentil soup which tasted great and was a generous portion size.Lastly the lamb chops. Tender. Cooked to perfection. Beautifully seasoned. And with a side of seasoned rice studded with almonds. Also included with lamb was a generous side salad full of goodies and finished with a lively vinaigrette.Conveniently located near the intersection of University and Sunrise. They are definitely well worth the trip.

I LOVE Olivo Mediterranean and couldn't recommend it more! Go visit them and have the best falafel I think I've had in south Florida. I always get the veggie grapes leaves - these are also the best I've ever had anywhere! Hummus is amazing, the corn ribs were perfectly cooked. The chicken tawok is so moist and flavorful, rice and salad that came with it were equally delicious. My husband had the beef shawarma and I seriously can't say anything but delicious for all of it! Service was great. The place to go for fresh authentic Mediterranean!

As of October 2023 this is a new local restaurant. The owners are Palestinian so the food is authentically a combination of middle eastern and Mediterranean. I went for a quick lunch on the go. There was no one in the establishment at noon on a Tuesday. The chicken plate I ordered took about 12 minutes to be ready so it was fairly quick. The chef didn't look very friendly and wasn't terribly welcoming. He's out in public view as they have an open kitchen. The chicken was decent but not a lot of flavor. The food fries were soggy and the salad was bland. I ordered food to go so it may be better for dining in. The place looked decent. They had high top and low top tables. The flooring was nice and the decor was quaint and homely. The lady taking orders at the front was friendly enough. Didn't see anything too spectacular. I'll return in a couple months when they have moved past growing pains. Always happy to support a local non chain restaurant!!

Great find. The app works. My wife and I love Mediterranean foods and have favorite restaurants. Adding Olivo to the list. Warm and fresh veggie grape leaves, hot falafel and mixed grill with rice were all perfect. My wife's gyro meat was tasty but underwhelming. Definitely be back. Worth the trip!Server was attentive and friendly. Clean and music was relaxing.
