I had a phenomenal meal at Olio e Più on a lovely summer evening in Chicago! This is definitely the place to be right now! There's so much to say about my experience. Starting with decor, the restaurant truly feels like an Italian countryside villa. There beautiful archways and live plants everywhere. I love that this restaurant is open air during the summer. There's a beautiful wrap around bar that is moody and romantic. The staff here are friendly, professional, and attentive. The food here is amazing. Some of the highlights of our meal were the octopus carpaccio, pistachio gnocchi, and the vanilla passion fruit panna cotta. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and totally refreshing. On top of the delicious taste, the presentation of all of the food is top notch. I appreciate how all of the dishes are made with care. I also enjoyed the drinks! The cocktail menu is well balanced with a variety of drinks for anyone's taste. I loved the flavors as well as the garnishes. Thank you Olio e Più for a wonderful dinner!

I will start off by saying the food was very good. The service was very good also. However, I was quite disturbed by one incident and I cannot get it out of my head. Upon arriving, I used the bathroom and someone was already there and let's just say, you could tell she had been in there for a while. When I came to exit the bathroom, so did she and she was an employee (brunette) from the kitchen. I opened the door and she walked straight out of the stall and followed me out. I hesitantly held the door open for her thinking she would realize my hesitation was because maybe she would turn around and wash her hands. But nope! She said thank you and walked to the front kitchen area which is completely open and you can see them working in this area. I'm sure the is a different kitchen but this is the front area where people are working. She walked up to the other lady that was working with food and just began speaking. I waited a while to see what would happen and she just continued speaking to her coworker. I watched her just chat for the remaining of the time.I then was so disgusted that I went to the bartender who was the only other person working. I asked, if the kitchen staff wear gloves as I saw two of them with it. I then informed him of what had just happened and he seemed un-phased. He said to me that many employees go and wash their hands in the kitchen because of touching a doorknob. Even if this is true, the perception that this employee had been in the bathroom for that long and then didn't wash her hands and then just stood conversing with her coworkers leads me to believe she did not go wash her hands in the kitchen. The perception is awful and maybe just wash your hands upon leaving the bathroom and again when in the kitchen. Definitely not expected with the amount of recommendations and positive comments I have heard for this level of dining.

At first when I heard that Olio e Piu was opening in Chicago, I was a bit apprehensive. I was concerned that it was just another overpriced and overhyped River North Restaurant. To make matters worse it was an import from New York. However, I was pleasantly surprised. First the food is excellent. I have been twice and enjoyed the food each time I've been. I first went on Valentine's Day last February with my wife. My wife and I enjoyed the food and the great atmosphere. My favorite from that night was the Chitarra Alla Carbanara. Most recently, I when for lunch and tried their Prix Fixe menu. Again, I enjoyed the food. My favorite was the spaghetti aglio. It was a rite sized portion and delicious. Second, the service is amazing. While it was busy on Valentine's Day, I still felt that the wait staff did an impressive job. The service was good at my lunch. Third, the value of the Prix Fixe is good. For $32 you get an appetizer and an entree. I understand that $32 might be in everyone's lunch budget, but considering some dishes here can cost in the mid-$30 range this is a good deal.In sum, this is a must visit Italian restaurant in Chicago.

Had the opportunity to come back and try a few other dishes recently! My friend and I ordered my favorite (Tuna Crudo) which was as good as I remembered. We also tried the octopus carpaccio which was light, refreshing and super flavorful - both of the appetizers were 10/10. I also loved the complementary bread and olive plate that was brought out at the start. For mains we ordered the pasta special which was the truffle rigatoni - this was not my favorite. It had amazing potential and the noodles were great, but it just lacked flavor and was too oily in my option. Could have used less butter and more cream or cheese. Wish we got the carbonara instead since I've heard great things. The Ribeye was awesome and super flavorful and tender. I loved the greens that came on top of the steak - it offered a nice clean bite to contrast the richness of the meat. For desserts we got the almond cake which was good but not extraordinarily interesting, however I couldn't stop eating it. And the exotic panna cotta which a little donut shaped piece of passionfruit deliciousness. The service was good and our waitress made very helpful recommendations which we loved since we were indecisive girls that night. I will be back here as it keep getting better and better each time.

I came to Olio e Più on a date. We asked for patio seating given that it was a gorgeous Chicago summer evening, and my biggest gripe of the whole evening is that the restaurant is right next to a fire station. Ironic how the near constant whine of a fire truck can squash the flames of love. That's not the restaurant's fault at all, but it definitely ruined the mood a bit. Everything else about the restaurant was good! Service was amazing. Our waitress was absolutely great. We split a carne e formaggio, insalata panzella, carbonara, and gnocchi. The carbonara was my favorite!Overall, great spot!

Food: the menu is in Italian. Not a fan of it. It is very appetizer and first course heavy. I felt not a lot of main course option.Service: our Italian server was very attentive, and helpful. Value: the prices are really reasonable.Inside is very interesting and authentic. Great experience to eat at this location

A MUST TRY! Fine dining restaurant with luxury accents. Perfect for business meetings, night out with friends/loved ones, and tourists. Sits in the heart of Chicago's Italian district. Very accessible from the road, only street parking available. Well-crafted aesthetic, the architecture alone is *chef's kiss*. Food was incredible. Tried the Espresso Martini, best I've had to date. The steak here is tender and packed with flavor. Highly recommend any steak dish. The mash potatoes were soft, fluffy, and garlicky. The perfect compliment to the steak, highly recommend the mash with other dishes as well. Overall, I highly recommend this place. The aesthetic, the food, the service is all incredible. Perfect for the Italian in us all. Can't wait to return for their tiramisu.

The food at OLIO E PIÙ was rich in flavor and arrived very quickly. The BRUSCHETTA AL POMODORO appetizer was the best bruschetta we have ever tried--so refreshing and it melts in your mouth. The dining experience was also really nice. We sat on the outdoor patio, which was perfect for a summer night. Paired with the amazing cocktails, it makes OLIO E PIÙ one of the best places in the city, especially for summer brunches.
