Why 4 stars? Because after one visit, I'm rooting for this business. --- --- ---Not all 4-star reviews are created equal. I was especially fond of Old Oak because I came away with the impression that they really care. From the service to the quality of the food, I believe these folks are really trying their best to deliver a product that's full of pride. I have to admit, I had never heard of the city of Plantersville. I had heard of Old Oak, but I just assumed it was in Montgomery. Nope, Plantersville, which is definitely a real place. We visited with our son and my in-laws. I played basketball that morning and was still fasted when we arrived around 12:30p and my wife was starving too. So we ordered a stupid amount of food.Bang Bang Shrimp: 5-stars. There was definitely a kick but these were full of flavor.Charcuterie Board: 4-stars. I'm not a huge charcuterie person but I enjoyed this one. Maybe I was just starving? Or maybe it was just full of really tasty meat and cheese.BBQ Chicken Pizza: 4-stars. I enjoyed the flavor and the fact that it had a very unique look from other BBQ chicken pizzas, but the one negative is that it wasn't very warm by the time it made it to our table.BBQ Wings: 5-stars. These were great. The perfect match of crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. Beef and Cheddar & French Dip Sliders: 3.5 stars. I loved the Texas toast, but the beef and cheddar slider was falling apart with every bite and was incredibly messy. The meat also tasted more like pot roast, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I still did enjoy these overall... just not as much as the other dishes.Chocolate Cheesecake: 3.5 stars. This was the one exception to the high-quality ingredients comment. I'm 98% sure this was just a store bought cheesecake. It was still a nice way to finish the meal with something sweet, but tasted like something you'd get in the frozen food section of a grocery store.People of the Greater Plantersville Metroplex: come on out and support this business! They are trying their best to bring a nice place to the area and deserve your attention!

This place is a great place to go for a great menu, a very good selection of beer, wine, and some mixed drinks. Live music Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.*****

Had lunch here Saturday, food was good and the beer selection was nice. They now have full bar too. My only complaint was their were tons of bees flying around making sitting on patio very difficult

Had driven by Old Oak many times was very intrigued. Finally found time to stop in and boy we were not disappointed. It is very relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere and wonderful people who make you feel at home. A good selection of Texas craft beers and the usual suspects. The food is very good and reasonably priced. They also have live music but not tonight. Will definitely be back. Only 10 minutes from downtown Montgomery.

Had a wonderful lunch at this great taphouse in Plantersville! We live by Lake Conroe, so it wasn't too far of a drive to get some really awesome food! The service was fantastic, and everything we had was absolutely delicious. We ordered just about every appetizer we could to try and munch on it all. The Rueben and the mini tacos were our favorites. We will definitely be back.

The times they are open are NOT correct on the website. It took 3 tries to find something on the menu they actually had (They began to come back 15-25 minutes after our original order went in). Good wait staff but poor management coordination and communication. We will most likely not go back. The ambiance is great! The food was ok.

My wife and I had some business to conduct out in Hockley and my wife's brother suggested that we take a certain route home to avoid toll roads and we might like the drive. Well, it turned out to be the LONG way around. But, we did find this little gem in Plantersville that we have returned to many times. Approaching lunch time, I saw that there was a taproom a couple of miles down the road and we figured that they would also have food. Boy did they! We popped in about five minutes before they actually opened but were still greeted with smiles and welcome in's. A big beautiful tap room, a big outdoor area, and a gigantic beautiful 100 year old oak tree out front really made this place look nice. We had a seat and looked through their 23 craft beers on tap and make a choice. Apparently, they had left over tacos from an event the day before so we went with that and a plate of Brat Nachos; diced brat with sauteed onions, bell peppers with beer cheese and sauerkraut. OMG were this good! The food was outstanding and full of flavor! The beer was even better! We met a gentleman named AJ who worked there and had a wonderful chat with him about business, beer and local events. Very nice, very knowledgeable and another reason why we wanted to go back. We also met Kathy our server and both Cindy's and chatted with them as well. Such a nice and friendly staff. Another great reason to visit. To follow up on this review, we did return with our daughter and her husband for dinner and to listen to some live music. They were also taken with the food and craft beer. Our server for the evening was Brook and she was such a delight to chat with as she was also a great source of information about Montgomery County. She really took care of use newbie Texans. I highly recommend visiting Old Oak Taphouse for the great beer, food, live music and superb customer service and just a general great afternoon or evening.

One beer and three margaritas. One I don't drink beer I did that as a favor since it was a taphouse three margaritas on a Wednesday and a Saturday for dinner is normal for me, but thank you for knowing me and my body and what I can handle. I wasn't stumbling. I wasn't belligerent. I wasn't vaping And I wasn't climbing the cattle fence so I guess you had to get one of the 16 people in your business out was to cut me off. Let me know how that's working out for you in the next year. Next time have a conversation with your patron and you might see that they're not drunk they're not wasted and they're not causing an effing problem but again thanks for the one beer and three margaritas Hitler.
