This place opens at 12, I arrived at about 12:10 and it was almost full but I managed a seat at the bar. Service was quick to offer me a drink and everyone was pleasant and checked on me without being overwhelming. Getting the seat closest to the kitchen, I was able to observe how the staff worked together like a well oiled machine and I appreciated that. I started off with the agedashi tofu since the menu was big and I needed some time to figure out my choices. Being close to the kitchen didn't help because I wanted everything that passed by me! I ended up with the Calamari, and three rolls, rock'n roll, smoked salmon, and the Houston maki (recommended by the server). The tofu was fried perfectly into little bites with dancing bonito flakes and the calamari you could tell was fresh, the tempura batter some of the tastiest I've had in Houston. I realized I had ordered too much when my rolls arrived but I made an honest effort to finish as much as I could. My favorite was the Houston roll which was tempura fried, and my least favorite was the smoked salmon but all very tasty and fresh. I'll definitely be back to try more,, and I'll make sure to go early!

This is a really affordable place for yummy sushi and Japanese food. It can get very busy so parking can be limited and hard to find. If you come during a busy time, the wait can also be long and the waiting area is very small. It can be hard to come in a group because of this. I got the salmon teriyaki bento box from the lunch special. It had also came with a vegetable eggroll that had cream cheese inside. It seemed more cream cheese than anything else though. There was also a miso soup that was a bit bland but still decent. The California roll was a good portion and there was 6(4 pictured). The salmon teriyaki was really good! There was 2 pieces with salmon skin still attached. The teriyaki sauce was subtly sweet but it was sticky and kind of gooey. Their happy hour has great deals too that I always come back for!

We came around 4ish which we thought it'd be pretty empty, but nope it had a decent crowd for happy hour! It was a 30 minute wait, which I didn't mind. The staff was on top of it, our drinks stayed refilled and food came out fast. I was very impressed by the service considering how busy they were. For appetizers we ordered the gyoza, solid 3.5/5, fried bananas SO GOOD 5/5. For sushi we did, the Kyle Roll 4.5/5 very fresh and tasty but I wish there was a sauce to it. Da Bomb roll, 4.7/5 so tasty and had a nice spice! We also had the Emily roll, 4.7/5 so good as well and had a nice kick, I also love the size of the rolls because they were pretty big! We finished off our meal with mochi which was perfect. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend, so worth the wait!

Cool spot with great happy hour! Parking is limited in front but there is parking next to the restaurant. We arrived on a Thursday after 5pm, it was two of us and had about a 15 minute wait. The staff were very friendly and attentive and checked on us regularly throughout our dine in. They have a vast happy hour menu with buy one get one free appetizers among a ton of other sushi options. Pork egg rolls & miso soup were delicious.Fries were bland and not anything outstanding. Enjoyed the spicy salmon rolls. Depending the time pack your patience because it is an intimate small space, and does get busy and crowded for happy hour and for good reason.

Came back again to eat lunch since I was in the area and it did not disappoint. Fast service with great tasting food. Spent only $30 for 3 orders (9 piece sushi, bento box, and a dynamite roll). Wish this restaurant was closer to me!

I heard a lot about the happy hour here, prior to ever being in Houston so def added it to my list of visits on my quick tour. Its a small, casual restaurant and filled up quickly.Happy hour has BOGO of various appetizers along with beers and wine. We ordered a few items including dynamite roll, spicy salmon, fried squid, vegetable tempura, agedashi tofu, and edamame. Staff was all friendly and food came out quick (I'm sure they want high turn around given the popularity of the happy hour). All the food was great for the price, its nothing super special but for ~$25 for 2 people coming out full, its a great deal!I'll have to come back to try the regular menu as well since it all seemed very affordable regardless. So far, I can say the HH was a great deal, just be prepared to wait if you're coming at 5 or later!

What's your goal? Delicious sushi - wrong placeOk food for a good price- this is the place. I was very excited to try this place due to the consistent long line and high reviews, but it was a let down for me. The restaurant is pretty small in the inside which explains the lines. The service was not as attentive as I would've liked based on restaurant size and the amount of patrons at the time. The food was very regular. They have a great but one get one free hh, but everything I had was comparable to Chinese buffet. The food wasn't bad, I just expected more. If I was at a different level in my sushi pallet I might feel different

Checked out their happy hour since we're in the area and we're fortunate to not have any wait at 3:30pm on a weekday. Still had to park in the lot next to the restaurant though as their main spaces are very limited. We were seated immediately, but that was about the last of the service for our visit. Although there seemed to be plenty of staff standing around, it took 30 minutes to take our order and about that long to get our check. The food itself didn't take too long. Maybe they were going through some things. The happy hour menu is reasonable - the prices really can't be beat. But the quality of the food reflects it. You won't leave hungry but it probably isn't as satisfying. What little fish I did get seemed fresh anyway but portions just seemed a lot smaller. And without much flair. Everything else wasn't really memorable enough, so come expecting you are just filling your appetite.

One of Houston's sushi staples! I love their happy hour. I usually get there before the rush hour crowd gets there, so I haven't had to wait long to be seated. The food is always fresh and good! The waiters and waitresses are nice and attentive. Definitely keeping this spot in my pocket!
