I ordered the oishi poke (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, edamame, pickled cucumber, scallions, and spicy mayo) and the katsu sando (fried pork cutlet sandwich, pickled cucumber, and lettuce on house milk bread). Under the fish, edamame, and pickled cucumbers was a layer of spicy mayo so the poke was flavorful and tasty. The tuna and salmon were fresh but the yellowtail was not (quality was okay). For the katsu sandwich, the pickled cucumbers added a nice crunch and flavor profile to the sandwich. As a side note though, the pork katsu was a little on the thin side so it was not the most filling sandwich. I would order the sandwich again but, because the yellowtail was not fresh, I do not think I would order the oishi poke again.

My friends and I ate here this evening for dinner.First of all, the food was very good. I had a salmon avocado roll and the shrimp udon. I enjoyed both. My friends also enjoyed their food; both had sushi and an entree/appetizer.Our server was nice but inexperienced. I'm pretty sure that it's the same owners as the previous restaurant. The issue with this place is that they try to sneak extra gratuity on there while charging a "service charge" of 18%. Huge turnoff. I would go back, because I did like the food, but I was really annoyed by the shady way that they added gratuity. I usually leave 20% but didn't leave any additional because I was so annoyed. Another review said they're not sharing this service charge with the waitstaff which is disturbing. I wish I had seen that before dining here.

This is 4.5 stars, but I'll round up to 5 because I think the rating is too low. I stopped by at happy hour and sat at the bar. I ordered the happy hour salmon poke bowl special, which was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Then I topped it off with a Philly roll that was tasty and nicely assembled. The fish is very fresh and very high in quality. The people could not have been kinder or more welcoming. My only reservation here are the prices, which seem a tad high for the regular menu. I glanced at special rolls and they seemed to be in the $20-$25 range. I'm sure they're delicious, but that's a bit rich for my blood. I definitely plan to return here, but I'll probably make the drive to John's Sushi House for my bi-monthly sushi binges only because the prices are better.

I've had good before here, but this time was 10/10. I got the number two lunch bento and substituted a roll for the chicken katsu sando, and wowow. Fresh and tasty and fast and the service is great. Good for date night or a meal at the small counter alone. A+ would return

Based on the rave reviews I thought the food would awesome. I was wrong. I got Bento box 1. The nigiri was just OK. The spicy tuna was really unfresh. The Korean wings were raw and were tasteless. I had to air fry them and it wasn't worth the effort. Really sad experience.

We came to Oishi on opening day! The food was really delicious! We tried several rolls and the don burri which was really like a poke bowl. The food was delicious, the very new wait staff is very charming! We are very interested in trying the waygu beef next time, but didn't get it this time. Would recommend the ceviche roll. Very happy to have a halal sushi option! We will definitely be back and are so happy to support a new local business. All the best to the lovely people starting a new business today!

My husband and I have been there twice, and intend to (repeatedly) return. The fish is top quality and expertly prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed the tuna tartare, the salmon don and the premium don. Edamame had a nice spice (though we were both missing the salt that it is typically finished with); the miso was hot and flavorful; the bao was good, but could use more filling (tandoori chicken/rock shrimp tempura-- or just more cucumber/pineapple salsa), because the delicious fillings were overtaken by the dough of the bao. The hamachi ponzu starter -- fish, again, was expertly prepared, but the intense orange flavor of the sauce, while an interesting contrast, overpowered the delicate taste of the hamachi (in our opinions; you might sharply disagree and fall in love with it ) My husband practically inhaled the Land and Sea Roll. Our first dining experience there was a little odd, because our server was so young/inexperienced and clearly uncomfortable in his (obviously new) role, but it was an off-hour, during a weekday, so we were very understanding, and it didn't deter us to returning within a week. One 2nd visit was for dinner during more regular business hours, and I'm happy to share that the service was excellent, from start to finish. The owner is a lovely, gracious person, and we were appreciative of the special attention he paid to our table. Looking forward to trying more of the menu items, and hoping for this lovely spot to succeed in Jenkintown!

Very high quality. Was impressed . The bluefin tuna was possibly the best tuna I have ever had. Elegant presentation. Cozy space. Pretty hilarious to read the one star comments. Owner is a chef with deep experience in high end places, their suppliers provide fish to places you would recognize.
