Oba Japanese Cuisine

A small restaurant located in a strip mall with other restaurants and an Asian supermarket beside it. There is a big public parking lot in front of the restaurant. During my visit, there was only one server in the restaurant managing a few tables. However the server was patient, friendly, and fast. I ordered spider man rolls, pork katsu bento, Chirashi bowl, and pork curry rice. The spider man rolls were ok. The pork katsu bento had plenty of food. However, the vegetable tempura, pork, spring roll, and gyoza were refried. The pork wasn't fresh. The batter used to fry the vegetable tempura didn't taste good. The slices of sashimi in the Chirashi bowl were not the freshest but still edible. The pork curry rice wasn't good. The curry was diluted, flavorless, and the color was wrong. Overall the food was not up to standard. I will not be back.

My daughter had an appointment out here so we yelped a sushi place and this one had rave reviews. It was okay. The rolls were not rolled tight enough but the shaggy dog was pretty tasty. The cali roll was very flavorless and dry but not terrible. The spring rolls were fried and they were very oily and yucky. The salad dressing on the side salad was the star of the meal. It was very fresh. The waitress gave us good service too.

It was really busy today but the only one waitress was still doing her job nicely. She always being nice. Nice and calm.place there. We always love their food.

Sushi was fresh and delicious. The restaurant is small but the staff is very friendly. They make some really good rolls.

This place is super clean, private and comfy. Sushi and sushi roll are so great! Very high quality of raw materail

Awesome Japanese restaurant with fresh and delicious sushi. The presentation is amazing and the service is always friendly. I would rather go here than the crowded and more expensive Japanese restaurants in Sugar Land an Missouri City. They have all day happy hour too!

Excellent. Our table only eats sashimi so you know the fish has to be fresh. Our whole table loved it. We were there for lunch and both the Bento sashimi and lunch sashimi special. Heads up that they're applying for their liquor license so we didn't have any sake. Service was with a smile and a twinkle in the eye of someone who is happy to be there and that we were enjoying our food. We will be back for lunch again.

the menu has a lot of options but many of the items are pricier than they should be, in my opinion. the food didn't taste anything particularly special but my family and I wanted to check it out since it was new. you can definitely get a better bang for your buck in other sushi places nearby probably for a better value and better taste too. probably won't be back

General Description:A traditional Japanese restaurant. They have booths and a sushi bar.The space is on the smaller side.The good:- Tonkatsu Ramen: Broth was a bit different than most Japanese style ramen. I don't like fatty/heavy broth base. This one was on the lighter side.- Yellowtail sashimi was on the fresher side.The bad:- Chicken was rubbery.- Broccoli was overcooked.- Wasabi mix was watered down.Overall:Worth trying.
