When you're hot and tired and wanting just sit and chill before the evening begins, this is the place you'll want. They have sodas and French press coffee, teas and a few baked goods from nearby local places. They serve locally roasted coffee, as well as many herbal chocolates and books. Signs around the eclectic shop read "Kindness Matters" and "Love One Another". One whole corner of the shop is fenced off with a raised area with rugs, pillows, and a faux fireplace. Even on the hot mid-July day, it's an evocative sight. Shorts and sports shirts melded with business casual with laptop bags. My favorite part is folks that look as different as night and day singing along with Bob Marley on various songs. There's a bit of the Rasta in all of us, I guess. This is a great place to get your groove on.

The decor of this place is adorable, you can literally spend hours studying or working in one of the big pillows on the floor, but coffee wise -- not good. I ordered a double espresso, and I know we cannot rely on American coffee but this was just strange, I was served two espresso shots into two different cups. My friend ordered a smoothie, that was certainly a better choice. They have WiFi and a few books to be bought at the store.

Truly an oasis in Carrboro. Anyone is welcome and everyone talks to each other. Robert is the sweetest person and will happily talk with you about anything. A sweet sweet person.Coffees, teas, and food are all created by hand by Robert. He puts his personal touch into everything he creates and it reflects in the service. People come here to study, relax, hibernate, chill out. I can't recommend this coffee shop enough.Beautiful decor, a pillow area for lounging, and a welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy!!

This isn't a coffee shop any longer. It's a "botanicals" place. We went here based on the reviews with Indian soup and Mexican hot chocolate only to find they only have canned cold drinks and edibles.

This places atmosphere has brought me a lot of healing. The kratom is always mixed well with whatever juice you like. The kava is also very potent and smooth.

Very cute interior and good tea selection! I used to love going to this place before covid. Unfortunately, making a visit here after the start of covid turned uncomfortable and awkward as the man behind the counter plays far-right radio shows non-stop and loves to go on anti-vax tirades to all of his customers. Not sure if he was always like this or the pandemic brought it out of him. Either way, it ruins the laidback and positive vibes I used to associate with the place.

Let me start off by saying NO ONE WAS WEARING A MASK. THE PEOPLE HANDLING FOOD WERE NOT WEARING MASKS. HUHDecor was very nice. And drinks were good and pretty cheap compared to other places in area. I have been here twice and don't see myself going again because of those who work there. Maybe they just hate students or anyone who isn't a regular but the service is absolute garbage. There is a bunch of people hanging out near the counter all chatting and no one gives you the time of day. During the time I was sitting there I saw multiple people come in (people who were student aged), wait and then leave cuZ they were being ignored. When older people came in the guy that worked there actually said hello. Like dude you're in a college town??There is one older man that works here who was very not friendly to my friend I was with. She asked for water, he said no because he was eating at the counter, then one guy who maybe worked there got her a cup. And then the first guy told us there was a 90 minute rule after we had already been there for 3 hours. Even though there were people who had been there longer than us. I had also planned to purchase more than just one drink since I had been sitting there for a while, but the counter was very unapproachable because there were all those people up there watching. A bob Marley documentary. Like 10 of them. None wearing masksI'm sure these men claim they are hippies or something, but they are just a bunch of white dudes who probably have some strange superiority complex because they are so cultured and wise and woke. Doubt that guy will see this review, but why are you so rude lmaoALSO NO ONE WAS WEARING MASKS. THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE WHO WERE MAKING THE DRINKS WERENT WEARING MASKSalso a police man who I think was their friend came behind The counter and just started serving customers. Without a mask. ACAB Never going again

It's not an oasis anymore. There were many times after the Oasis opened that I would have given it 5 stars. Amazing atmosphere with beautifully painted walls, high ceilings, a fireplace with floor cushions ( couches and chairs too), and the best coffee in town. It was always fun to overhear conversations about metaphysics, or listen to reggae or folk music), or go to an evening presentation on shamanism. But my most recent visit, a few months ago, was terrible. The walls had been painted white. The owner, Robert, with whom my partner and I had chatted on dozens of occasions, did not recognize us. We got CBD coffee that was bitter and oily (we have the same kind at home, and it's really good.) I can't remember what was on the big screen, but there were 2 audio streams - one was some space age music. That was innocuous. But though we were at the farthest point from the counter where Robert sits, we heard every word of his computer playing ALEX JONES. "Oasis" , it's called. There are signs saying you've entered a calm sanctuary when you come in. Robert (supposedly) is all about One Love and his hippie days. All I got that day was a bitter old man playing the words of another bitter old man. And bad coffee. I know he got divorced at some point (because he talks about his personal business frequently and loudly to some forlorn groupies), and moved to Montana at one point, so maybe he's working through some trauma. Don't do it in front of your customers, dude! My partner jokingly said, when we left, "Hey Robert, we didn't have you down as an Alex Jones fan." Robert: "I use lots of sources. Nobody tells the truth..." and a few other conspiratorial mumblings.

The place itself wasn't too bad but the cultural appropriation of Asian teas and decor was SO inappropriate. It was run by two old white men, one who was a little rude to me. There were Buddhist statues, tapestries of Hindu gods, and CBD oil on display, things that don't even go together except for the fact that they're considered "zen". Especially with everything that has happened to the Asian community in the past few months, I am honestly just tired of seeing white people appropriate our culture to make a profit but not speak up when Asian Americans are actually being targeted in this country.
