Same great service and good wine as always. Tommy is very hospitable and friendly. The location has a lot of history behind it and was interesting to learn about.

Absolutely! This is one of those places that defies description when talking to your friends. It offers an all-encompassing experience of warm, witty, and top-notch service, not to mention the outstanding wine. The venue, a transformed Admirals quarters, now serves as a breathtaking tasting room. It's like stepping into the home of friends who possess a beautiful Victorian filled with enchanting character, all while enjoying a fine glass of wine by the cozy fireplace. A visit here is essential! Frankie, the owner's son, is incredibly cool, and then there's Joey, a charming globetrotter with an irresistible personality. And let's not forget Tommy, a true comedian at heart and the kindest soul you'll ever meet. Vino Godfather Winery is a place you simply cannot miss!

Just WOW - I really have no other word to describe what an incredible visit we had to Vino Godfather Winery on Mare Island in Vallejo. It should be noted that this place is historic, Mare Island was the first US Naval Base on the West Coast, established in 1854. My parents were stationed here in 1969 and I was born in a nearby hospital. For my 55th birthday I went back to visit and while looking around at the Colonial Style homes (base housing) from the 1900's, we happened upon Vino Godfather's Tasing Room. The tasting room is in one of the original officers mansions that has been so well taken care of, it's absolutely stunning. Vino Godfather has taken over the home and set up a gorgeous tasting room while also preserving the delicate interior and integrity of the original structure. Even if you aren't going for the wine, you must go for the history! Since we were there we decided to do a tasting and we were treated to such a special visit by Bennie "Joey." This man is a powerhouse and he managed to make us feel important by sharing his knowledge of the home and the wines so willingly, while also tending to all of the other guests in the home. We tasted all of the wines and ended up leaving with a bottle of 2021 Rose Demi Sparkling Wine and a bottle of 2018 Prohibition Tempranillo. We wanted to buy so much more but since we were visiting from out of state we decided to just stick with what we could drink before we left. If you're even thinking about making a visit to this place, do it! It was such an unplanned and unexpected surprise for us, and I'm so thankful that we just happened upon it! And while you're there make sure you check out the chapel at the end of the road. St Peter's Chapel is the oldest naval chapel in the United States and is known for its incredible collection of Tiffany stained glass windows.

We had the best time at Vino Godfather for a friends birthday! I had scheduled a tasting for us and we were given a nice private room. Everyone seemed to want to hang out with our group, which was so fun. Everyone was sharing stories, explaining photos on the wall, and finally we ended up with Frank. Frank was a blast! We had such a good time getting to know him, the business, and how they do things around Mare Island. He even took us out back to show us the community event that was going on and invited us to come have another glass with him and his dad. This was truly a special experience for all of us and a great way to end our time at Mare Island. This was an experience we won't forget and makes us eager to return.

The wine here is spantacular. I especially love Moscato gold wine. The service was amazing. Thomas was the best. He was very atentative and nice. He really does care about his customers. He knows all of the regulars and makes it his business to get to know the new people. The ambiance was nice. It's an old military house on an old military base. If you ever get a chance to visit Vino Godfather Winery in Vallejo should go.

Classic and beautiful home from 1901. Yes. I am back 2-days in a row. SO delicious! I love the Sonoma Cab. it is worth every penny of heavenly cab. You have to work your way up to it, then you will fall in love. Joey does it all...he sings, pours, and he is super sweet. We will be back to support this amazing family.

I honestly love coming to Vino Godfather. I've only been here for events, but it's still an incredible experience. The service is fantastic, the vibe is just awesome, and the wines are delicious.Even though I'm a reds gal, their Moscato is pretty flavorful.I think their Prohibition Tempranillo is my favorite.Their outdoor space is a nice size and a very enjoyable to be in, especially for their concerts. Their tasting room is just gorgeous, tasteful decor. I like coming here and can't wait for my next visit.

Vino Godfather is a hidden gem in Vallejo/Mare Island! We visited tonight and although they are grieving the loss of Frank, Joey greeted us with the most genuine smile and recommendation for the new Alexander Valley Cabernet. We are Cab lovers and appreciated the taste however the jury is out in our house on the Lodi vs the Alexander Valley .A little constructive feedback; I was searching for the truffle chips and unfortunately, could not find them and this is our second visit that they were missing. Those chips pair so well with the St. Peter's Clone. We purchased the chips and wine earlier last year and shared them with friends.I was sad to hear of Frank's passing and praying that the winery honors his legacy with maintaining the family/friendly vibe that we look forward to. I can't imagine the Vino Godfather without Thomas and Joey!Lastly, I'm hoping to see a Jazz/blues option in the music series this year.Cheers

Our host, Tom was very welcoming and engaging. I instantly felt like family! He was receptive to the types of wine I was interested in plus shared a favorite of his! Fun to hear the history of the restored mansion! I highly recommend this wine tasting room, the only one in Vallejo, I learned from the other guests at the bar. The Napa Chardonnay was my favorite!
