Stopped in here to get a bite before tonight's Sharks game. Typical sports bar w/ a Brit flare. So many TV's with various college football games on. We sat ourselves, but were promptly greeted by our outstanding server (who always seemed to show up when we were low on drinks...perfect!). The beer/drink menu is quite extensive. Many local crafts from all over the Bay and some beers from the UK/Ireland as well. The menu is a bit extensive. If you can't find something here, that's a you issue. I grabbed the Big Ben burger. I'm not sure what they did to it, but it was one of the best burgers I've had in some time. The fry options were outstanding. Let's see: shoestring, seasoned, curly, steak, tots, garlic and maybe loaded. I selected the steak fries and they were perfect. I could probably rave on and on about our quick stay, but I won't. Yes, it was very good. Not sure why people have rated this so low, but I'd come back next time I'm in town. It's also a short walk to SAP Center for pre or post game bites or drinks.

Still a great place to watch games and go dancing late at night. The food here is good and they have a decent happy hour. I love that they have so many TVs for game nights!

Super cool place to watch sporting events on a big screen. Great outdoor seating and pretty decent food. Nachos were delicious 8/10. Tater tots were hot and crispy and yum 8/10. Chicken was fried well and good 7/10. Vibe 8.5/10.

The Brit SJ is an underrated gem of a sports pub that deserves much more recognition than it currently gets. Perhaps its low profile is due to its location; nestled beside an apartment building and overshadowed by the bustling San Pedro Market Place, it can be easy to miss. I myself have often found it easier to enter from the back patio rather than the main entrance. The owner of this pub is fantastic, and they offer an impressive variety of beers on tap. The food is excellent and surprisingly affordable compared to other downtown pubs. Whether you're looking for a hearty meal or a refreshing pint, The Brit SJ delivers without breaking the bank. One of the standout features of this sports bar is its early opening time, at least during major tournaments like the Cricket World Cup and the Euros. From 7:30 AM, you can enjoy both food and beer, making it an ideal spot for catching early morning games. I've enjoyed many cricket and soccer matches here. The pub is equipped with plenty of TVs, ensuring that you can watch every live match from any angle. As of June 2024, The Brit SJ is broadcasting major football/soccer tournaments like the Euros, Copa America, Cricket T20 World Cup, Premier League, Champions League, IPL, and the ICC Cricket World Cup. It's the perfect place for sports enthusiasts to gather and enjoy the games. The outdoor patio is another highlight, featuring a wide screen that accommodates multiple sporting events simultaneously. The staff is responsive to customer requests, skillfully managing to show different matches to keep everyone happy. In summary, The Brit SJ offers a fantastic sports pub experience with its great beer selection, delicious and affordable food, early opening hours, and excellent viewing options for sports fans. It's a hidden treasure in downtown San Jose that more people should definitely check out. We loved our time there and will certainly be returning!

I wouldn't normally review bars or pubs, but I wanted to bring attention to two food/drink items.BAVARIAN PRETZEL: I know it's a pretzel, but it's a really memorable one. I haven't had that many pretzels to compare, but my party and I thought it was one of the best we've had that we ordered a second one before we finished the first! It's not overly salted and it stayed soft even after we took our sweet time eating it. It comes with a side of their white cheddar sauce and honey mustard. Both were good in their own ways, but the cheese sauce was the winner for us. BRIT NACHOS: They come in a half order or full size. The half order is served on what looked like a 1/8 baking sheet. You can select from pork, beef, chicken, or no meat. They definitely put a lot of toppings on it, but not an equal portion of chips so we were left with a coagulated layer from the shredded cheese and a few soggy chips under it. If I got this again, I would ask for chips on the side or be prepared to eat the whole thing really quickly. LolSHOT & A PINT DEAL: They offered a shot and pint of beer for $14! There's a list of several hard liquors and beers you could choose from. Definitely a steal compared to other places in downtown for sure. We really liked their outdoor patio. It's covered above, but open on the side so that there's fresh air all around you. The server came around to check on the other patrons so we were able to catch him whenever we wanted to order. I don't recall the exact number, but there's about half a dozen tvs surrounding the outdoor with different sports on concurrently if you don't want to miss out. All in all, good chill hang out place with decent prices and good pretzels!

The food here was delicious. I really enjoyed everything I ordered. The nachos were exceptionally delicious and the cauliflower fritters were also great. I didn't have anything to drink because it was the middle of the day but the cocktail menu looked interesting. It was kind of empty in the middle of the day for lunch. It seemed like the people who were there didn't have my reservation about midday drinking and were there to relax and not have a quick lunch. So I thought it would be a fun place if you were looking to hang out.Our service was fine - though I did think he hadn't put in part of our order since I asked where it was and he said "oh a few minutes" and then it came out.

We came here for the 49ers game last Sunday, and we had so much fun. We started with a round of Bloody Mary's. The drinks are large and come with a lot of snacks packed into them. There are so many TV's so seeing the game was not problem. There was even a TV hanging on the wall in our booth. The manager came around and handed out free 49er scarves to everyone, which was super cool. The food was really tasty too, we were happy to see they had breakfast food on the menu too. We came here for a 10 am game. We had great service the whole time we were there. We will definitely come here to watch a game again.

The food was amazing and delicious. Service was great, our server/bartender was attentive. Very cool sports bar. A lot of TVs and cool sports memorabilia on the walls. It was our first time visiting and will definitely be back when we're in the area. The loaded potato skins were delicious. My daughter said "these are the best potatoes ever" I don't know about 'ever' but they were yummmmy. The Royale with cheese was pretty good. I ordered it just because of the pulp fiction reference. I wasn't disappointed. The burger was juicy and savory. The main reason we went was for the Sticky toffee pudding and it did not disappoint. These desserts are hard to find in the Bay. I finished mine in a few minutes. The warm toffee pudding with the vanilla ice cream is a match made in heaven. No pic taken but I tried the fish and chips which was pretty good. Light batter, not greasy and the fish was yummy.
