We love Pasta Prego!Looking for a good restaurant in Napa during a trip can be a bit overwhelming bec they're just so many options. But this quaint little restaurant on the corner of Main and Napa caught our eyes. Got married in LA that Friday morning and took the 101, travelled for 9 hours, to get to Napa. It was our first meal after getting married and they did not disappoint. We requested the table near the window so we can have a good view of the street. We didn't get any confirmation and we were almost an hour late of our reservation, so we were surprised to be given that exact table. Although we did arrive an hour before closing time. There were still a good amount of tables occupied on a Friday evening. We ordered calamari and beet salad. Both were SO good except for the calamari sauce which was so-so. Both arrive within 5 minutes. We were surprised tbh. I don't know if we were both starving that we finished the starters within 10-15 mins but we had a bit of a wait for the mains. We didn't mind though. For mains, my husband got the linguine and I got the risotto special - porkchop. Serving size were huge, my husband finished his pasta and I asked him to help me finish mine. We still took a pretty good amount to-go. He loved it but I thought there was too many mussels and clams on the dish and too little prawns. It was well-seasoned, had a good balance of flavors, nothing was overwhelming. They did good with my risotto too. Very nice flavors, sauce blended perfectly with the mushroom risotto and the perfectly-cooked porkchop. We found $120 not bad for good food, great ambiance and service in Napa.Staff were very friendly, would keep checking up on us to see if we needed anything. When she heard we were newly-weds, she stayed and chat for a bit which we appreciated. Although we did stay a bit after closing time, we didn't feel like they were cleaning up on us. Over-all, we had a nice time and we will be back whenever we're in town. We plan on bringing our families here too when we visit Napa.Pasta Prego will always be special to my husband and I.

Lackluster to say the least. My wife and I have had some special moments at this restaurant. We came here on many dates in the past. We also had a big birthday party dinner for her a couple years back and it WAS great. We decided to dine here for Valentine's day on Sunday Feb 16. our experience : - Service - we walked in and stood there awkwardly while the hostess was on the phone. She could at least multitask and acknowledge. Then once she gets off the phone she greets us. and the phone rings again. she said : let me take this call and then I'll seat you LOl. So all is forgiven of the food is good. I couldn't help but notice how empty the restaurant was. There was no background music to create any sort of ambiance. The employees didn't look very enthusiastic about serving food or having fun. There was an older gentlemen walking around - my guess is that he's the owner, not very friendly vibes. to the food - Camalari came out "lukewarm". i had to try a second bite to confirm. the sauce they used was super water downed. i asked my wife if she could try it as well and she said :" this is not what it used to be, it's water downed. She got the beed salad and you could count about 3 small pieces of beefs. i asked her how it was and she said it's nothing to write home about . for our entree , she got the Capellini/ it's described on the menu as a garlic , basil olive oil base sauce. When it came out, the pasta was swimming in a pool of diced tomatoes. My wife was not impressed but she is very nice. Had to nudge her to get them to make her something else. They ended up making her the fusilli and it ended up be okay. for my entree , i got the spaghetti bolognese and it was , very "mid". they grinded down the parsley so much that it was the texture of salt It's been 2-3 years since we last came here but it was once our favorite Italian Joint in all of Napa. Will not be coming back. The Valley has so many other options.

Living in Napa and finding good restaurants is more challenging than you think. There are quite a few highly praised yet mediocre spots, Pasta Prego is not one of them. A quaint little bistro akin to Ciccio in Yountville which is my fave Italian spot in Napa. I had the polenta as my starter. Nicely fried and sitting atop a lovely creamy mushroom broth. Perfectly seasoned and enough for a main. My wife had the calamari which was good but could have used more seasoning. The sauce that came with it was also a bit underwhelming. My main course was the ravioli in a citrus cream sauce. Fantastic hand made ricotta & spinach ravioli in a well balanced lemon cream sauce that paired wonderfully with the Brendal Sauvignon Blanc. My wife had the Shrimp Diablo. Nicely sized shrimp wrapped in a smoky pancetta on a bed of spaghetti in a spicy wine sauce that was full of flavor. These sorts of oil/wine sauced pastas are usually disappointing to me but this was tremendous. The service was great and our server was quite attentive.Pasta Prego is expensive at about $150 for the two of us before tip but it is Napa and it is 2024. I highly recommend this spot and I look forward to returning.

Sunday night, the place was busy but not packed (like on our last visit). The beautiful dining room was full of happy people enjoying a mild winter evening. Our server was wonderful, friendly and informative. We shared the beet salad as an appetizer, which our server split for us because she knew we were going to share it. (Nice!) Both of our entrees were rich and very flavorful, and the portion sizes were generous! We really love this place and know we need to visit more often. Highly recommended!!

Cozy restaurant with attentive service in quiet neighborhood. Loved the curtains between the small tables on the side of the walls which gives a semi private/romantic space for couples. We enjoyed all the food we ordered but the risotto was the star of the night and absolutely delicious!

We used the Yelp Reservations app to make a reservation here, and it worked well. I recommend using it if you want to get a table here on the weekend and make your reservation a day before. I loved the interior of this restaurant, as it reminded me of an old restaurant in San Francisco and was enjoyable. It is tiny, so be ready to hear conversations with your neighboring tables, which we are used to in San Diego. The staff and restaurant was super busy as this was Saturday at 6:00 pm but I thought the staff was very professional and handled the crowds there perfectly, major Kudos to the staff and kitchen. I didn't enjoy the food as much as I hoped I would; there were too many tomatoes on my pasta Capalenni, and the pasta itself was undercooked. I don't think angel hair pasta is supposed to be that al dente' and not drowning in olive oil. My husband's dish was a chicken penne, and he said it was "okay." I am not a professionally trained chef; I have to cook a lot of my food due to being vegan, and I also have to limit my exposure to seed oils for health reasons. I can make a much better similar dish at home. Even my husband, who is NOT a picky eater with 0 food restrictions, told me that what I make at home is better. We will not return, as, after reading other reviews here, others had similar experiences with the food. The service and atmosphere were lovely, but at the end of the day, if you spend 90.00 on two dinners and a glass of wine, that food better be on point.

Chicken Marsala was too sweet. Asked waiter for more bread and he brings the end-piece with another side piece and said this is the last of the bread - in a napkin! What da....not impressive

Pasta Prego is a quaint and cozy little restaurant near downtown. I just moved here recently and honestly the experience was wonderful. I took my girlfriend to have her birthday dinner here and we weren't disappointed. We both had an appetizer, she got the Caesar salad while I had the soup of the day (cream of mushroom) we both agreed the soup was earthy, and flavorful. For our main course, I ordered the fettuccine which had grilled chicken and pancetta, an ingredient that I wasn't used to in my fettuccine but was happy to be exposed to it as a pairing to the chicken. It was rich, creamy, and perfectly aldente. She had the spaghetti bolognese, which she absolutely loved, the ground pork wasnt fatty or greasy at all, and the sauce was an excellent pairing with just the right amount of acidity to cut through the meat. Service was great and while busy, all the staff was attentive and polite. Will definitely come back again. Pricing by the way is around 25-40 per main course plate.

Missed our reservation for a fancier restaurant and found this gem. The food was amazing. One of the best unexpected meals I've ever had! I also liked that it was smaller and didn't have that many tables, it made it that much more cozy.

Pasta Prego is a charming restaurant located on Main Street in Napa. My husband wanted to go here for Father's Day. We had reservations and we were seated almost immediately after entering which was great but after that the service went down quickly. We ordered the Chicken Fettuccine ( one of Broccoli with no pasta) which was exquisite! My husband got the Chicken Marsala which was good, and my son got the Penne Pasta which he enjoyed. The dinner was nice and the food was good but you had to ask for almost everything. I would definitely go back perhaps not on a special occasion.
