Olive & Hay

I first visited Olive & Hay in 2020. You know, the year we'd all rather forget. It was in February, just weeks before everything changed. Woah, woah, woah. I'm totally digressing. Let's stay focused. I was really impressed on my first visit, and I was impressed once again on my recent experience at Olive & Hay. Firstly, the menu has totally changed. It now has more of an Italian flare and let me tell you, it was amazing! It's one of those places where you can dress up or down. There's no dress code here so come in whatever frocks you wish. You'll see couples having a fancy date on one table and a family with young children sharing pizza on another. It's a nice place but it's casual which I appreciate. The food- I tried the spaghetti with meatballs, fruitti di mare, burrata, and margharita pizza. The meatballs come on a separate dish with marinara. Everything was excellent. However, the star of the show was the fruitti di mare. I was dreaming of it the next few days afterward. I want to make a trip out to Napa just to have a bowl all to myself. The location is a little away from all the popular places but definitely give it a try the next time you're in the area.

My family and I came in for brunch this morning and had a wonderful time at Olive & Hay.The hostess was very pleasant, greeted us and sat at us at our table. The indoor dining space is gorgeous! It's so clean and aesthetically pleasing! Service was great. Our server, David, was great. He checked in on us often and took good care of our table. The manager also stopped by our table. She was so nice, hospitable and made us feel welcomed. Especially great with our kiddos! The restaurant was surprisingly very kid friendly (and doggo friendly too, several tables had their dogs with them). The food was good. The kitchen messed up our order, but our server made sure to get it fixed quickly. The breakfast potatoes were my favorite. We're a 2 eggs any style type of family, so didn't explore much of the menu, but we did get the bamboloni and it was great. The bacon wasn't bad, but wasn't the best either. My latte and the coffee were delicious. We are local to the Bay, so will definitely will be back!

We decided to come to Napa as a last minute decision for our 17th wedding anniversary. Originally we were just coming to town for wine tasting but it ended up turning into an over night trip. Since we had our pooch with us we didn't want to go too far to dinner. Olive and Hay was just across the street so decided to come here since the steak place was booked until late and I'm so glad they were. Alma was our server and she was just the best ever! She asked if we had any allergies. She offered to adjust dishes if we had any. She offered to add a protein to the pasta dish I wanted to try. She made the entire experience so enjoyable and I wish all servers were like her. I also can't forget the man always so attentive in filling up our water before we ran out. The atmosphere was romantic and moody. I would have to say this was one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant. Great food and great service! We will definitely be back again. Thank you again Alma and staff for the amazing time.

Met up with friends here for brunch before going to the spa!The restaurant is located on-site at the Meritage Resort so it is very convenient if you are a resort guest and/or if you are planning on visiting the spa/pool or attending a concert. It was easy to make a reservation in advance via OpenTable. Just a note that they do close daily between 1pm and 5:30pm, so plan accordingly! The inside was gorgeous - very spacious with a modern rustic feel. However, past the interior decor, the rest of the experience was not very standout. The menu consisted of fairly standard brunch/lunch fare - I ordered the Olive & Hay Chicken Salad which was not bad. The gorgonzola added a lot of flavor. But the biggest letdown was the service - or the lack thereof? Our server was absent after taking our orders (other staff brought out our food) and we sat for most of our visit with empty water glasses as well. No one ever came by to ask if my friends wanted another mimosa, or if the food was okay, etc. I really wanted to like it more, especially because it's so lovely inside. But in the future, I would probably grab food somewhere else if visiting the Meritage again.

My wife and I had our mini moon in Napa, and one of the highlights of our trip was dinner at this marvelous restaurant. From start to finish, we had an amazing experience that truly made our celebration memorable.The ambiance was perfect for our mini moon. The restaurant has a moody and romantic atmosphere, with a sophisticated yet cozy interior design that set the tone for an intimate evening. It was exactly what we were looking for to celebrate this special occasion.We ordered spaghetti, bucatini al cacio e pepe, and crispy French fries, all of which were absolutely delicious. For dessert, we requested tiramisu, and to our surprise, they offered it to us as a complimentary treat! They even paired it with a sweet champagne, which was a lovely gesture. The food was exceptional--every dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared.What truly stood out, though, was the service!! Our waitress was so genuinely excited to be part of our mini moon celebration, and she went out of her way to make every moment special. We felt incredibly well taken care of, and her enthusiasm added a personal touch that made the evening even more memorable.This restaurant is wonderful and clearly cares about its guests. They made our mini moon an unforgettable experience, and we're so grateful for their warmth and hospitality.

Hardly and vegetarian options. Margherita can be made Jain if you let me them know in advance. Thats about the only Jain option.

I would give 20 stars if I could. The food was amazing!! The seafood pasta is wow!! Also tried a few of the appetizers and all were good and filling!! Also the service was great, friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best in Napa!

Had a really good meal at Olive & Hay while staying at the Meritage. I was really excited about what I thought would be a classic cacio e pepe with bucatini but was disappointed when the dish arrived with a lot of cheese on top. While the dish was tasty, the amount cheese could have been scaled back some. We also ordered the big Italian salad and were pleasantly surprised. It was fresh and delicious. Our server was very friendly. The restaurant is very pretty and has a lot of seating, including many tables for larger groups as well tables outside.

Service was amazing. However the food was not very good. First time here and we may give them another shot if we come back.

We def should've listened to recent reviews of this place but we wanted to give it a fair chance. Party of 8 and 4 meals were horrible and had to be taken off the bill. And to make things worse I got violently sick that night, I'm sure it was from the seafood linguine I had. Took 30 min to get our check after asking for it multiple times. Server was not the best.
