Nu-Rays

Two words.... Perfectly Imperfect!!!Every time that I go to this establishment I am taken back by the old school Cheers vibe!To be honest, I have only been there a handful of times, but when you know, you know! Unfortunately, I missed the owner, Kathy, tonight, but every time I see her there she greets me with kind words and a hug. It makes me feel like a regular or even a long lost best friend! I probably visit this business about 3 times a year. Yet, every time I do I ask myself why don't I go here more often! On this visit, I was lucky enough to see one of the old bouncers, Daniel and met the new bouncer, Bobby. They were both very cordial and welcoming, while their wandering eyes and presence seemed to remind us patron's that our conduct was being monitored. Tonight, Danielle was behind the bar. She slayed it!!! It seemed like there was not an empty cup in the house (unless by choice). She was very attentive and efficient. It was as though each and every person in the bar was her most important customer! It was refreshing (much like the tasty drinks that she poured). This is not the first time I left Nu-Rays feeling this way, as Rose may be one of the best bartenders I have come across... always quick to welcome new arrivals with a friendly smile when the time allows, but when the sh*t hits the fan and the clients are circling the bar ready to pounce on a drink like a cheetah on an antelope.... Rose is all business passing out drinks like Rich Gannon to Tim Brown. Lara is another bartender that come to mind. I was very impressed with Lara. She was quick to answer questions with a recommendation for a drink that may change your life.... Or at least your mood for the night. In fact, I have been impressed with all of the bartenders that I have met there. I own a business in Martinez and have found myself at a couple of the drinking establishments in the area and none of them... and I mean none of them... can hold a candle to Nu-Rays! I've tried them all at one time or another and I must say Nu-Rays is top notch! I Love the old school down to earth feel... and you know what... after thinking about the cheers vibe.... I'm going to try and make them yell "COREY!!!" when I come in the bar. That my friend is what they call icing on the cake!

This place was a lot of fun! Came on a Sunday and they had family feud trivia night. The drinks were good and strong. Not a long wait at all to get drinks. And the locals/regulars in the bar were all very cool made us feel welcomed. Didn't even end up seeing the rest of DT Martinez since we were having such a good time here. A lot of places were closed or closed early so I guess that worked out :)

A great dive bar. Heavy pour, friendly jovial people, relaxed atmosphere. Sign your name onto a $1 bill and staple it to the wall. They had free nachos when I went yesterday. Very Martinez, very cool.

Alissa makes the best Bloody Mary is the Bay Area. Her vibes are VIBIN. We love her so much. Service is incredible & attentive. She put a bar worth of Jell-O shots on ice for us & we the people LOVE THAT.

Went for a midday drink and it was a great atmosphere. The bartender is nice and it was a quiet afternoon so it was relaxing. Just what I needed

Uh karaoke night on Saturday but when people want to sing the dj says no we only let performers sing. FUCK YOU! Dirty ass dive

Best dive bar in the east bay. Hands down. Probably best dive bar in the Bay Area to be honest. Owner Kathi is the best. All class.

Best bar down town.. its smaller, but has a great vibe. Bartenders are on point, never have to wait more then a couple minutes for a drink. Everyone is pretty friendly. I like that even the customers feel like they're part of the nu-rays family. Kathi is the best bar owner hands down.

horrible service & way too crowded ... If you're not a regular or local the bartenders are extremely rude & not friendly .take their time to help you, last .. & on busy night's the crowed of people & extremely young & ghetto ... very unsatisfying every time I've left there..

A friendly atmosphere, great bartenders. To top it off, $5.00 breakfast on Wednesdays with ALL the fixins! If that's not enough, Nacho's to die for on Thursdays. Something goin on always. Thank you Danielle, Lara and the rest of the crew. MUST VISIT.
