Wow! A great big heap of messy goodness! The burger was so delicious and the sides of tots and mac-n-cheese were also delish. The prices were affordable, the crew super friendly, and great East Bay decor. Definitely coming back!

First things first! If you're planning on ordering online through their webpage, be prepared for the store to charge you about 6% of fees. I was unaware of this when I placed my order today and when I asked the server about it, they brushed it off and said that the manager says it's a convenience fee that the ordering company charges. I was told to email the company to figure it out. Well, thank you! I figured it out. So if you order through their webpage, there's a convenience fee and when you pay by credit card (because there's no option to pay at the store), there is an additional 3% CREDIT CARD fee that is added. None of these fees are posted on their webpage anywhere. Onto the the food.. Please keep in mind that this review is for my carry-out order. The food was pretty good, but I think that the bacon jam takes it to a sweeter tasting level that I'm not used to. I think that this food is best enjoyed when you're able to sit at the restaurant and eat. They have plenty of seating and a comfortable ambiance. The staff today were friendly and not rude. But I do wish that the owner would put on their webpage or with the company that manages their online ordering that there is a 3% fee for using a credit card on top of the convenience fee. Your staff member is going to get asked every time for every pick-up order. Save her some stress and post it on your ordering webpage. I get it, times are tough and you want to put the fees on the customers, but be transparent about it. I would've much rather saved that $2 credit card fee and just ordered at the store instead and then tipped your staff! But to each their own I guess...My order was packaged up well, but there are no napkins or utensils. So if you think you need them, make sure you grab some on the way out. Carry-out was done well as my food was ready and on-time when I selected a specific pick up time. It's worth giving a try since smash burgers seem to be the hype. If you like that thin crispy edges on the meat patty, then this is the place for you.

I stopped by Johnny Boi earlier after reading rave reviews for them. They lived up to the hype. The location is great-- on a corner right by the freeway with easy, accessible, streetside parking. They have plenty of spacious outdoor seating, which can be good if things get too loud inside. I'm sensitive to noise and found it a bit loud inside, with the music, TV, sounds of food being prepared, and diners conversing, but that's easily remedied with the outdoor seating area. The menu was plentiful but not overwhelmingly so. I ordered the Johnny Boi without carmelized onions or bacon jam and added jalapeños. It was very good and left me feeling full but not painfully stuffed. The fries were great, and the chocolate shake was the perfect sweetener for the meal. I love the decor and overall vibe. Customer service was excellent, and we were greeted as soon as we walked through the front door, even though they were already busy. Overall, it was a fun experience that I'd love to repeat in the future.

Johnny Boi is a new smash burger restaurant that has recently opened in Richmond, walking distance from my office. I know a lot of folks early on visited this restaurant and had a lot of positive feedback so after a month or so who am I to turn down a good burger. This place has a lot of great things going for it other than the food. Its located on a corner location with streetside parking. It has outdoor seating if required and the place is bright and airy. The interior seating and order counter are obvious and not challenging to place your order. And the food comes out lickety split. The interior is cute with floor to ceiling murals. I guess they look more like high quality style type spray can murals of Tupac, Selena and so forth. The menu is grouped by Burgers, Sides, Wings, Extras, Milkshakes and Fountain Drinks. They do have a kids portion that they've titled it Lil Bellies, cute! The burgers are smash burgers which I'm a fan of. They have approximately 7 choices from the burger section of the menu and I've tried the Johnny Boi and the Fat Boi. The Fat Boi has two beef smash patties compared to the one. I usually have my burger fully dressed which includes the normal accouterments, but also has their caramelized onions, bbq sauce and smash sauce. What makes these burgers so good is that their is a balance between the bun, beef, all the dressings that one doesn't overpower the other and has a well balanced taste of all the items. Home run! I normally go with the fries but on this last occasion I went with the onions rings. They were ok, and next time I'll go with the tator tots. I do like me a good milkshake but will save my calories for the next visit. If your ever in the downtown old Richmond definitely try out Johnny Boi's burgers.

The best burgers in Richmond I highly recommend them if you're in the mood for a good burger. The location is in point Richmond very clean in and outside of establishment not many parking spots i usually order To go and the service is always fast and friendly. The only complaint i have is they don't take call in orders you have to order online.

Went there for a quick bite on a Saturday night. Ordered the cowboy, wife got Johnny Boi, son got FatBoi and finally a chicken sandwich was ordered. We got shakes, onion rings, fried and Mac and Cheese for sides. Service was good and food came through pretty quick. I like the art on the walls it's a nice touch. They have four tv's and leave the remotes available for customers to control. Price was ok everything is expensive nowadays. (I'm old enough to remember regular and super burritos being $2.50 and $3.00)The burgers were seasoned good and the toppings went well with them. The bacon on the Mac and Cheese and burger was good quality. Onion rings were ok nothing spectacular and fries could have been hotter. The shakes were good and rich. The chicken sandwich was spicy. Was happy, we ate all of it and will come back.

Cute, can't wait to taste the burger. Not a good start. Hiccup at the ordering kiosk. But, I have to say that, hands down, they have the best hamburgers I've tasted in a long while. A plus, their tater tots are on fire! Crispy, crunchy and even when cold still good. I haven't eaten here because I prefer to take my food to go, but I have been back an embarrassing number of times. The inside is young, hip and if I were a different type of person, I may be a touch judgemental about that. But, the food is solid, there is a bit of a wait if you are ordering in person, but it is so worth it. I usually get the fat boy with a gluten free bun! Thank you!!! The chocolate shakes are good and worth it too.I know that I'll be back because I've been back about once per week since my first visit. Embarrassing, maybe, but these burgers are on point!

Got the burger bowl and tater tots! Both were delicious. Walk up to the counter, order and wait. They'll call you up when your food is ready. The place had a nice vibe. Murals were colorful & bright. Very cool seeing memorabilia from Richmond's past!

Amazing burger spot in Point Richmond! This place is a local gem and their Fat Boi burger was the star of the show! From the caramelized onions, to the smash sauce, and my favorite, the bacon jam, everything worked together so well. We also got the Mango Jalapeño Wings and their house-made sauce had the perfect ratio of sweet and spicy. Can't forget about the Oreo Milkshake, which is so creamy and hits the spot every time (:
