LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant! I've dined at De Afghanan Cuisine multiple times and it never disappoints. Food has consistently been good and you can't go wrong ordering any of kabobs combos. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious but it does get busy packed during the weekend. Prepare to wait a bit for seating and for the food to come out. I always get the triple kabob plate with brown rice which allows you to try all 3 types of of meat. Perfect for someone that has trouble deciding what to order. The bodinjon borani (roasted eggplant) appetizer is also a must order here! I like to pair it with the bread that they give and I always ask for extra bread. Whenever my friends are visiting me from out of town, I always take them to De Afghanan and they always leave super impressed.

This place is awesome. Their Kabobs are delicious, I recommend the combination to try different meats. The Bolani with Leek was wonderful, and I also liked their Sabzi spinach dish. Food was excellent, service was efficient.Clean and cozy inside, great for small groups. Parking and GPS maps can be a little confusing. There is parking off street behind the restaurant.

(5 out of 5)The food here is amazing, I'm gonna give it a 4.9 only because right next store they have another restaurant that is takeout that is just .1 better!!! One of my best friends is afghan and his whole family come here consistently. Im lucky to have them share their culture and cuisine with me. The cool thing about the sit down restaurant is great because you can get as much chutney and afghani yogurt. I also love the feel of the restaurant, the entrance is very cool looking and when you walk in you can see them cooking the kabobs! Service is exceptional. Amazing family owned buisness When you come tell them Rothyy sent you!

So let's start with the good. Plenty of seating. Inside is a more intimate and cozier atmosphere. Outside has a nice patio area and a few tables. We decided to sit outside. We ordered and got our food in 20-25 minutes. The chaplee kabob and murgh kabob is spiced well and the rice is fragrant and pairs well with the meat. The con is that one of the staff members sprayed some bug spray along the outside walls and the smell affected the outside patrons. We decided to leave a bit earlier because of this but overall, good food.

The food was ok, I had the mantu it could have been better with some more yogurt sauce and vegetable sauce on top. The service was good the ambience was beautiful inside and out. They might be making the food slightly bland to meet the American palate. But in my opinion give people the authentic vibe and food it will more people to you. Just a thought. I will definitely come back and when I do I will ask for more sauce didn't have much time that day.

I really want to give this place 3.5 stars. I was first introduced to Afghan cuisine back in the DC and Virginia area having enjoyed casual and sit down and the food was always so flavorful regardless of service. My absolute favorites are qubali palau and mantu. Not having had this cuisine in many years, my husband recommended this place and said it's known as the best in the Bay Area. We arrived at a good time because shortly 30mins later the place filled up quickly as the restaurant indoors is small but tastefully decorated. We ordered borani with potato and butter but squash which was decent-- I preferred potato. They were out of leek that evening. And then the mantu came for appetizers. Presentation was nice but I felt flavor was lacking unfortunately. Finally, my qubali palau came. I have to say the lamb melted off the bone and was very flavorful but the rice not so much. I had to add salt just for it to have some flavor. I was mildly disappointed. My husband chicken, beef kabobs were ok--he enjoyed the Chapli kabob more. I didn't try it. Overall, decent experience but I wouldn't come back. FYI, portions are big.

Came by for lunch the other day and it was a tasty experience. De Afghanan Cuisine is a full service restaurant. Parking is available next to the restaurant or on surface streets in front or behind the restaurant. The area next to the restaurant is definitely showing its age with more cars with expired registration stickers along with abandoned buildings.Dining is available indoors or on the patio featuring an ATM on the "porch". Entrances to the restaurant can be from the front door on via the back door next to the restaurant.Started off with the leek bolani and it was fantastic and huge. The pancake was filled with flavorful and juicy leeks and came with a cup of yogurt for dipping. The mantu was also tasty with ground meet and onions wrapped and topped off with some yogurt sauce.Opted for the chapli plate with brown rice as a main and it was also gigantic. The brown rice was a seasoned rice which was very flavorful.$32/head after tax and gratuity with tons of leftovers. There is a 3% credit card fee and tipping options start at 15% after tax...

There is a large Afghan population in Fremont, and I was told to try one of their restaurants. I opted for DeAfghanan Cuisine, the most popular Afghan restaurant on Yelp. This restaurant did not disappoint, and I am glad it was my first experience with Afghan cuisine because I'd definitely add Afghan dishes to my list of go-to foods. It seems like there are two locations for this restaurant right next to each other. One is for takeout, and the other is for dining in. The dine-in restaurant seems unnoticeable at first because the exterior façade doesn't look like a restaurant. However, as soon as you open the heavy doors, you'll see a fully operating restaurant with lots of customers.I ordered one of their bolanis (I forgot which one) and the combination kabob specialty. The bolani is HUGE. At first, I wondered why it was priced so high, but the serving size definitely feeds 3-4 people. The combination kabob was a great choice because I couldn't decide which kabob I wanted. My favorite had to be the chicken, but all the kabobs were very flavorful. I opted for the Afghan brown rice, which is actually white rice but seasoned. This restaurant has excellent customer service. We asked for further details on the menu, and the waiter helped us decide on the dishes to order. I definitely recommend this place!

This place is a local Fremont gem. I've done both dine-in at this location and takeout at the small storefront right next door, and both spots have produced delicious Afghan food. The dine-in location has plenty of seating space, and the service was great too.FOOD RECS //+ Triple Kabob Murgh, Teka and Chaplee Kabob plate+ Butternut squash bolani: this is a big serving! We shared between four of us+ Quabili Pallow: one of my favorite dishes to get. The lamb is fall-off-the-bone tender, and the mix of carrots, raisins, and rice is a delicious savory-sweet flavor combo. + Bodinjon Borani (roasted eggplant)+ Firni (milk pudding with pistachio): great end to the meal
