Cheese Board Pizza

An East Bay classic for a reason~ They do vegetarian pizza like no other. The fact that it's always busy even with only one special pizza a day speaks volumes.Upon lining up, I can tell this place is meant for the locals based on the vibes. The workers are pretty nice too. The line looks long but moves quickly.The pizza of the day was a potato curry pizza. HEAR ME OUT, it was one of the best things I've had. I probably wouldn't crave this particular combo often, but I acknowledge that it's special! I never would've ever thought about curry sauce on pizza but it WORKS. I also popped over to the bakery to grab some pastries and a sourdough loaf to take home. I recommend for goodies to bring home for the week. ALSO THEIR GREEN HOT SAUCE IS BOMB. You can buy a container to-go too. Will try to make it over to the East Bay for this sometime again. It's worth the trek!

Cheeseboard is such a good pizza spot that keeps things easy without sacrificing quality! They have one pizza of the day and it is always very delicious! Don't their famous green sauce. It's perfect for dipping whatever pizza they are serving! They are very generous with portion size like if you order a full pizza they throw a few extra slices on top! Most recently came on a Saturday at 11:30 when they open and there was already a pretty big line but moved quickly and pizza came out quick and hot! Lots of seating inside and outside! They had jazz music on the day we went, which was really fun with a live singer. Next-door, they have their bakery where you can order different baked goods.They have a fun drink selection. Overall, a wonderful experience and perfect pizza.

TRULY SCRUMPTIOUS!!One of the best pizza places in Berkeley!! Always has a seemingly intimidating line but moves super quickly since they only serve one type of DELICIOUS pizza each day. On Saturday when we came, the daily special was a four cheese pizza with onion and a pesto drizzle--and let me tell you it was absolutely impeccable. Oh and don't even get me started on that garlic green sauce-- A MUST EVERYTIME!The live band created such a lively and fun ambiance that rippled throughout the store and even around the block. Surprisingly a lot of seating/standing area to enjoy your food and listen to the fun, jazzy music. Have always been a regular since my first year at Berkeley and I know I'll still be back here even well after I graduate!!

This place is apparently signature Berkeley eats. They have a different pizza flavor every day, which I think is so fun. Next door they also have a cheese shop and bakery. We went for lunch on a Saturday, and there was live music playing.After a little line, we got a whole pie and large green sauce (I saw someone dunk their whole slice in it), it came with the 2 bonus slivers on top, their crust is so crispy and delicious, and this is probably the best pizza I've had. An absolute favorite in the area.

This place is a must-have if you're ever in Berkeley. I came here on a saturday around dinner time and it was super busy (my mistake!) But, the line went by very quickly. They are very efficient with their order system- once you order, the pizza is ready within seconds because they're always making the same pizza of that day! On this day, it was a 3 cheese pesto pizza I believe? It was delicious. Me and my partner almost ate the whole box. They also had live music which was a plus. Witnessing everyone eat on the patio and inside with live music was very nice. Felt like a cute little community.

Came here for a quick lunch on a weekday and loved it! The wait wasn't long at all and the pizza was super fresh. There was live music and great natural lighting. A great spot for a casual date or meal w/ friends. The pizza was light and crispy + had a multitude of cheesy yet fresh components and flavors. Definitely recommend!

Came by a while back when the pizza of the day was cremini mushrooms, spinach, caramelized onions, pine nuts, fontina, mozz, garlic olive oil and parsley. The nostalgia is a huge factor; I'd come here pretty much every month at a certain point in undergrad. I always appreciate the slivers, the lines (shorter on rainy days), and the green sauce, once free from sauce tubs but now sold separately, though still worth it. For a few months back in '23, the spice in the sauce had disappeared, but I'm happy to say that the serranos seem to have returned, although I would always appreciate more.The pricing, I believe, hasn't changed since 2019.As for the pizza itself, I mostly get the cheeses, onion, and mushrooms; the rest isn't top-of-the-mind.

If there's only one thing you can try in Berkeley, let it be this. The best part about studying at Cal for me was this pizza (go bears!)Even if you normally don't like pizza or vegetarian, try this. You won't regret it. The dough is not regular pizza dough, it's sourdough with the right amount of chewiness. MUST eat with the green sauce.Line is always long but it goes very fast. Only one pizza flavor per day but really can't go wrong with any flavor. The ambience is nice with live local band during certain time.

Wowww! I was visiting Cal and was recommended this place. It was so delicious. It was crispy, the ratio of cheese toppings and sauce were great. For our night, we shared a roasted pepper, goat cheese, and olive tapenade pie with a creamy pesto sauce. The wait to order was out the door, but getting the pizza was less than 2 minutes. We sat outside and enjoyed our food. I highly recommend visiting! The food was some of the best in the area. A must try

We were a bit confused about which line to join. There wasn't a sign indicating whether the line was for their cheese shop or the pizza line, so we initially got in the wrong one. Once we figured it out, the correct line moved quickly, and the cashier who took our order was super nice and friendly.The menu is simple: they offer one type of pizza per day. On the day we went, the main veggie was eggplant. I'm not usually a fan of eggplant, so I was worried I wouldn't enjoy it, but I was pleasantly surprised! The texture reminded me of mushrooms, and the pizza was incredibly flavorful, especially for being vegetarian. We ordered half a pizza, and they generously gave us two extra slices! The green sauce they serve on the side wasn't too spicy but added a nice flavor boost.We went on a Thursday, and they had a jazz band playing live music (unfortunately, I forgot the band's name, but they were amazing). The atmosphere was perfect--great vibes all around. There was plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, so finding a spot wasn't an issue.
