Needed to find a restaurant that could take 13 of us without a wait. This was the place! And I'm glad a person in our group found this restaurant cuz it was really delicious. It's in downtown town Hayward with a big parking lot right behind the restaurant. Place was really roomy and it fit our big party of 13 nice and comfortable. Our waitress name was Dani. She was very attentive and nice. Food:Fried calamari 5/5 nice size pieces. The dipping sauce was good and I liked the fried pepper. Deconstructed paella 5/5 so good. The flavor was yummy. Had a little kick to it. Came with so much seafood. Beef short ribs 5/5 hubby said it was nice and tender and great flavor Guava cream brûlée 4/5: too sweet to my liking. I ate it. Not bad.

Started skeptical because it was dead inside, but then assumed that this was due to it being a holiday weekend. Ordered the glazed pork ribs, gambas, and calamari off of the starter menu; again not expecting anything spectacular. WOW food was elevated and finger licking delicious! We also ordered two cocktails and they were top shelf...not at all watered down, had all the garnishes and proper ice for what we ordered. Support this local diamond in the ruff, you won't be disappointed! Only suggestions and not a necessity. Turn up the thermostat a tad. Chop up cashews and sprinkle on the top of the ribs instead of serving them whole-whole makes them a little misplaced. PS: very friendly staff!

Reservation - easily made online Parking - easy to find, there are many lots in downtown Hayward.Service - our server was attentive and checked up on us frequently Drinks - my sangria was just okay. My friend got a cocktail and said it was pretty good. The overall presentation of drinks were pretty well done:Food - 3/5 stars for the ceviche trio, fish just weren't that fresh. Loved that it was served with taro chips.- 5/5 stars for the salmon, it was well seasoned and cooked well. The sides it came with complimented the dish well.- 5/5 stars for the steak and eggs, my friend really enjoyed the dish. The place is spacious and really clean inside. Overall, great place to have lunch or dinner. Will definitely revisit.

This was my second time to Casa Del Toro with a large group. We were seated in the side room where we had a big, long table. A few other guest around us. Service was very good. Our server was attentive and helpful. For the table we started with a few appetizers, including the Beef Empanadas, Mushroom Empanadas, Brussel Sprouts, and Calamari. All yummy. I had the Guajillo Braised Short Rib which was tender and moist, served with cilantro mashed potatoes, carrots and pearled onions in a red wine sauce. Very delicious. My boyfriend has the Mezcal glazed Salmon with purple potato purée. Both dishes had ample food to share or take home. I also tried the 5 Cheese Raviolis in saffron cream sauce. Very rich and tasty. Desserts we shared were the Guava Crème Brûlée and Mexican Bread Pudding. Both enjoyed by the group. Overall a fun place for a dining experience and delicious menu.

My heart dropped as I looked through the pictures of the menus and saw that their dessert menu changes lol. We had our work holiday gathering at Casa Del Toro last week and their Mexican Chocolate Bread Pudding just lives in my dreams. It is true to the flavor of Mexican chocolate, not too terribly sweet even served a la mode with vanilla bean ice cream, and that mingling of cold ice cream and slightly molten bread pudding? I need to stop.Casa Del Toro was a wonderful place to have a holiday gathering and each person at the table found multiple things they liked in terms of the food, the ambiance, and the service. Jonathan D. was our server and he brought a lot of knowledge and a sense of fun as well. We jokingly told him that he needed to hand over the brussels sprouts recipe (they seriously are the best brussels sprouts all of us ever had) and he said we may have to fight for it. In addition to the brussels sprouts, we also have the pork belly and fried calamari for starters - both were plated beautifully and tasted just as good. The grilled lamb I got was delicious and the roasted potatoes and chimichurri were absolutely perfect. I told my husband all about this place when I got home from dinner and I look forward to bringing him here soon.

Empanadas and duck breast were the best dishes. Seasoned well. The Empanadas were crispy and had a good amount of filling. The duck breast was good. Skin rendered nicely but meat a little overcooked so kind of tough to chew. The mole sauce tho was BOMB. Bone marrow and pork belly were okay. If you like fat then get it. Wish pork belly was skin on though. The vinegar sauce helps cut the richness. Seafood pasta was a let down. Noodles and seafood were overcooked but the sauce was flavorful.

A much needed establishment in Hayward. This brings a bit of class and diversity to the neighborhood. They have a bar with tvs and high top tables, and an adjacent room with more dining tables. The Latin music playing in the background was fitting. Their menu included a good selection of items. We liked everything we got, but were disappointed in the lamb chops as they were surprisingly unseasoned. Otherwise, good pork ribs, pork belly, bone marrow, and duck. The true vanilla bean ice cream that came with the bread pudding dessert was on point. Our server (not sure if I got his name) was very attentive and excellent. It was pricey but worth it for date night. We'll be back!

Casa del toro is one of our favorite restaurants in the bay. Their short rib melts in your mouth, the skirt steak is tender and delicious, and the empanadas are out of this world. The meat and the mushroom empanadas are equally as delicious paired with the chimichurri sauce. I wish I could buy just a giant bottle of it on its own. We regularly have Aaron as our server and he is so personable and kind and makes the restaurant top notch. The decor is very fitting and modern without losing the homey feeling you want in a restaurant. Will continue to keep returning, definitely give their brunch a chance if you haven't yet. Their breakfast burger and French toast are so yummy.
