"We have eaten in a few times and get takeout about one a month. Consistently good, fresh food; and super warm, welcoming, and professional service."
"We've been several times. Both done in and take out. The last time we were here was take out and it was just okay, not great - maybe takeout doesn't travel well?So we chose to dine in on January. We called a reservation for 6 on a Friday night. Street parking was easy. The restaurant was pretty quiet with just a few occupied tables, I think they had a few deliveries/take outs picked up while we were there. We had a great dinner! Everybody was happy with their meal. My Chicken Tikka Masala was delicious. I ordered it medium spicy, and it was just a right level of heat for me.I would come back here again!"

"Jhol momo (lamb): yummy; Medium spice is just right for usOur go-to dish here is C Chili Chicken momo, which is spicy (more than what we would like even in Medium spice level)."
"Found this spot while casting about for a spot my friend and I both wanted to try, near my hotel and my last night in town. And Mt Everest did not disappoint. We had the momo dumplings, pakora and tikki mandala paneer and it was all delicious! I had never had Nepalese food before and while all our dishes were familiar (to someone who loves Indian food), they were all just a little different which I loved. Service was good and the restaurant is cozy. Parking was easy on the street."
"I can't say enough about the service! They are welcoming, willing to converse with you on where they are from, and super accommodating! We came in around 8pm and it was just us. But more people started rolling in around 9pm to eat. This is a popular place to have traditional Indian/Himalayan/Nepalese dishes! We came for the Momo - -- so glad we were finally able to try these, they were pretty darn good. Little pockets of chicken goodness dipped in their sauce put me in a happy spot."
"Located at the corner of 10th & Clay, I've walked past this place many times and opted to have lunch here with a colleague. As shown in the photo, this place serves Indian and Nepalese Cuisine. The Chai tea is decent, the interior decor clean and fresh with a gorgeous bar and a pleasant vibe excellent for one on one conversations. For appetizers, we tried the mixed Nepalese dumplings (chicken, lamb and vegetarian) or Momo. They are served with a tomato based sauce and were excellent. For the main course, I had the chicken Marsala which tasted delicious. For lunch, this place is a tad pricier costing $80 for 2 after tip but you'll leave filled up.Excellent and friendly service. Would come here again."
"Consistently good food. I order the butter chicken, chana sag, and tandoori chicken."
"A hidden gem at San Pedro Square! Not sure how I never tried this place before out of all the numerous times I've been here. But finally got down to it, and boy it was worth it!FOOD:----------I would describe the food as a combination between Chinese and Indian influences, flavor wise.First of all, had to try the *Chicken Momos* for which they are famous. And rightly so! Deliciously stuffed with a solid ratio of meat to veggie, and filled with delightful herbs and spices. Really supple and tasty.Their *Chicken Chow Mein* reminds me of Singapore style chow mein. Great taste, good meat/veggie to noodle ratio, and super filling, which is great when you have hungry hungry people with you.We were recommended the *Chicken Tikka Masala* which I thought might be a standard version, but this one really punched my mouth with superb flavor. The portion was very generous and I couldn't stop stuffing myself with this dish.SERVICE/AMBIANCE:-----------------------------Service was great and they gave excellent recommendations. Ambiance is pretty vibrant on the back side of the market without being too rowdy. This is the calmer side of San Pedro Square so you won't be disturbed by (too many) drunken interruptions.TIP: You can always order to go, so that you can pack up the leftovers even after you eat here.DATE TIP: Definitely a great place to order and share lots of tasty morsels. That to-go box will come in handy so you and your date don't overstuff yourself!"
"One of my favorite places to go if you want amazing food and now has an amazing HH menu and craft cocktails. Can't wait to both dine in with the HH nibbles or grabbed takeout and have a lovely drink at the bar."
"Cute little mom and pop shop Indian/Napoli food place in the alley way across from subway. So good!! Chicken biryani 5/5 Chicken tikka masala 5/5Lamb platter 5/5Mango lassi 3/5 - it was good but not use to it. It's more yogurt based. Roti - this roti is diff from Indian roti/stone oven. Chicken mono with sauce - 3/5, it was good but didn't taste different than Chinese dumplings. The sauce is interesting though. Would definitely come back."

This is the best Indian food you'll find in Berkeley. Incredible cheese naan and garlic naan. I love the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Service is very fast and friendly. Atmosphere is very cool! I love this spot! Try the chicken sekuwa as an appetizer!

I thought this place had simple but satisfying comfort food. I had been here a while ago dining outdoors but decided this time to eat indoors. I had the chicken momos which visually reminded me Chinese Shanghai dumplings. They were different but tasty. I had the lamb korma with rice which I enjoyed and took the remaining sauce home and ate with chicken. Got to love leftovers! I also enjoyed the honey naan. The service was good from our Nepalese server. There weren't many indoor diners but they did have people picking up to go orders. I need to come back here. Reasonable prices too. The ambiance was fine.

I was on a momo craze these days and was sad to leave Seattle because I didn't think there were any near me BUT I was wrong cuz this gem of a place popped up on my run. I went in on a whim and the person that took my order was super friendly. I got the tikka masala, a chicken momo, and the garlic naan. He was really hyping up all the food so it was very exciting for me! Extra points for offering free chai (it was delicious). The tikka masala was sweet and creamy and well seasoned. The garlic naan went really well with it! The momos were also super good! The chicken filling was nice and sturdy. He recommended the lamb momos so will def try that next time. I would recommend drinking so much chai while eating the momos.

i tried this spot with some friends, and we decided to get some of the server's recommendations since we're not familiar with nepalese or indian food.the food was flavorful, and my favorite was the garlic naan that was so fresh. the samosas were a little lacking in flavor, but the sauces were so good and i liked how there was one a little more sour.i'd definitely recommend ordering a lot and doing family style! solid spot overall

My goodness this restaurant was so delicious. The server recommended us to try the chili momos which were perfect if you like a little spicy kick. We also ordered the tandoori chicken with fresh squeezed lemon, which came with 2 sauces, the mint sauce was my favorite. The garlic naan came out fresh and hot, and our chicken tikka masala was the perfect pairing to dip out naan into. I want to try a paneer dish and the biryani next time! 10/10 recommend and definitley coming back.

Super sweet people! They were really nice, attentive, and took great care of us. The inside was quiet and had nice decor.Naan was delicious and the flavors were great. Maybe we were hungry and should have ordered more but portions were a little small. Can't wait to come back and try more! The momos were calling my name

The owners are so wonderfully humble and kind!! Personal service and very attentive! The appetizers were amazing!! Perfect Garlic naan!! Vindaloo and Korma were phenomenally fresh!!The dining capacity is HUGE, very clean, but needs lunch goers to fill them seats!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TANDOOR FOR LUNCH!!!

Stopped by here during Fanime! It's located in the San Pedro Square Market. Since it's a food court, it WILL get quite busy during peak hours on the weekends, especially if there's a holiday or an event going on (aka Fanime lol). There's seating inside (limited) and some seating outside too. Just grab a table and send your people out to order food. Most businesses here will either text you or have a buzzer notify you when your food is ready. For our dinner, we got the: 1) Chicken Momos: -These are Nepali dumplings served with their traditional dipping sauce, achaar. This is apparently a South Asian pickle sauce. It does have a slight sourness to it, from the fact that it's pickled and it gives a refreshing flavor to the food. -The dumplings are nice and juicy with moist meat inside. Exterior was not too delicate and not too thick or dry either. Can't go wrong with some solid dumplings.2) Paneer Tikka Masala: -These are grilled cheese cubes served in their red, creamy sauce. -This has a slight sweetness and spiciness to it. -I feel like you can go wrong with any form of cheese dish. What is this if not another form of mozzarella stick? Though not as gooey, it's still pretty good. -Probably my favorite of the 3 that we ordered. 3) Szechuan Mixed Fried Rice: -This comes with chicken, scrambled eggs, veggies, spicy sichuan peppers, and garlic. -Very flavorful rice that packs a punch and lingering heat. Actually decently spicy. -Good amount of protein mixed into the fried rice. I think my only qualm with it (and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like this), but the fried rice texture was a bit soggy and gooey. Not bad, but became a bit heavy to eat (probably due to the oiliness). Decently unique and flavorful food in DT SJ within walking distance of the convention center!

"Mmmmm great chicken momos, large size and held together nicely. The tomato cream sauce was tasty and definitely had spices and heat elements, went well with the chicken momos! Also got the chicken tikka masala which comes with 8oz of rice and lentil soup! Char-grilled boneless chicken is in a silken tomato-cream curry (Nut-Free, Egg-Free, Gluten-Free). I chose the "spicy" level and the curry was too creamy and sweet. If you want some heat, you are going to have to choose a spice level way higher than "spicy". The chicken momo's tomato sauce was way spicier than my chicken tikka masala!I'd come back here again just for the chicken momo. I'll likely try a different curry next time though."
"Stopped by during late afternoon and we were seated immediately. The waitress was super nice and laidback. What we got: chicken Himalayan curry (5/5) -- we got this in mild because I am a spice wimp and it was not spicy at all (thank you)..the sauce was bursting with flavor and I love the chunkiness which added robustness. The chicken was succulent but they didn't give nearly enough meat for what was being charged prawn tikka masala (5/5) -- again, ordered in mild for my sake and this sauce was tomatoey and creamy. The shrimp were a little overcooked and I thought there needed to be more for what we were payingnaan (4/5) -- my boyfriend said it is usually fluffier than this, but it was my first time having naan and I thought it was delicious dipping in the curries Although the meat was a bit skimpy for the dishes we ordered, flavors were perfect and I enjoyed the meal a lot. I would return to try their momo and other items!"
""How about Indian?" I asked my daughter as we were wandering Montclair on a cold Saturday night. She gave me an enthusiastic yes and we set off to Himalayan Curry House. They do a brisk take out business here but we decided to eat in. Staff was very kind and the chicken tikka masala, rice, and naan (especially the naan) made my seven-year-old very happy. I might've liked a bit more spice in my curry but given my dining companion it was just right."
"This place was stellar! Truly. (It helped that the owners name is Tara, which is Nepali for star.) The best Nepali food I've ever had (and I've tried Neplai food at various locales in the US).Zomsa is a mom-and-pop restaurant, run by the family. Tara and his two kids are omnipresent, and the mom is back in the kitchen doing much of the cooking. The menu has all manner of Nepali dishes, both vegetarian and otherwise. When we arrived at the place, we were greeted immediately by Tara, who prepared a table for us. After sitting for a brief moment, my friend decided she'd be more comfortable sitting outside, so Tara moved us, all smiles and with nary a complaint. We ordered the Chicken Choila Bento Box, which is a chicken appetizer in a compartmentalized small box (reminiscent of the bento box you might find in a Japanese restaurant), with plenty of very spicy chicken, complemented by a sour chutney, pounded rice, a crunchy bean mix of some sort, and curried potatoes. It was delicious. Tara had warned us that the chicken was quite spicy, which I knew I'd be happy with, but my friend was concerned that it would be too spicy for her. Tara talked with his wife, and Tara and his daughter told us that they were able to make it a little less spicy for us. What a nice gesture! What we got was delicious, and just the right amount of spice for both of us.For our main dishes, which we shared, we ordered the Kukhura Ko Masu, a chicken curry (with bones) and the Vegetable Tikka Masala. The former was fantastic! We both enjoyed the Masala as well, which was on the sweeter side.We observed a couple at a neighboring table getting the Thakali Thali, which is served on a large platter. It looked quite good, and I'm seriously considering getting that next time. (Tara talked it up too.) I talked with the couple at the neighboring table for a little bit, one of whom had been talking with Tara in Nepali. When he was out of earshot I asked about her impression of the place. She told me she felt it was the best Nepali food in the area. (As it turns out, there are a number of Himalayan/Nepali food places in the vicinity.) That's quite a complement, especially from someone who herself is Nepali. If you have an opportunity, try Zomsa. You will enjoy the food, I have no doubt."
"Vegan Mushroom and Cauliflower Peas Curry & Vegan Momo Super flavorful! The warmth from the spices is what gets you full without being over-the-top full!"
"Very tasty and perfect for what we needed...a quick meal before we made our way home after a performance at Zellerbach. Very casual, no tables only sparse counter seating. Although we were eating there, we were given packed up food in to go containers- seemed like a lot of garbage only 2 of us generated...if I'd known, I would have brought my own stuff. Food delicious however and I would go back better prepared. PS...the dumplings are really good!"
"Just had Little Kathmandu cater our daughter's high school graduation party. What a treat. They were a joy to work with, very responsive and accommodating. The food was delicious and may I add extremely plentiful, although we definitely over ordered on the number of dishes but we had different palates to please, ok and we love variety.I received lots of compliments about the food and each person seemed to like a different dish, which to me means that it was all delicious. Our guests asked us where we catered the food from because they wanted to go there in the future. Honestly we couldn't be happier and the other restaurants we reached out to either didn't even respond at all to both our voicemail and email inquiry or were a bit inflexible and significantly more expensive for less. For me the only downside was that I ate way too much! We would definitely use them again in the future."
"A fun neighborhood joint! There are multiple screens over the bar if you're keeping up with local sports. It was karaoke night when I went in, and I believe they're expanding it to more days during the week! It's a casual spot, so the food and beverage menu reflects that. I got some Yeti fries and fried Chicken Momos, as well as a Grapefruit Hibiscus hard kombucha which was very good. The portions were generous - I could have easily shared what I got with another fully grown adult. Service at the bar was good. They also have a robot come out to deliver your food, which is really cute. This would be a good casual place to catch up with friends over drinks in the neighborhood. Very much a Himalayan sports bar."
"We are very lucky to have authentic Nepalese and Indian food here in Grand area.I know my Nepalese friends tell me that a lot of their favorites are in North Berk or Albany area, but wait til you eat at Bayleaf. The gentleman who is always at the front is the most kind and welcoming individual. Service is an art. I ordered for pickup, and he also gave me some free potato samosas with my order. I had their steamed chicken momos and naan. I liked their regular naan more than the garlic, which surprised me. Momos are just like the delicious cousin to East Asian dumplings, so they're always so comforting. In typical Nepalese and Indian fashion, the dips are so flavorful and bursting with life. Colors from red to green and orange! I know my burps gon' be tasty for a whole day after eating Bayleaf. Support local y'all. They also have a neon-y interior/dark element vibe, and they're open on most holidays. They were open on Christmas and they have lots of space indoors for large parties."
"Delicious did, beautifully decorated, and amazing service. Great with kids and fair prices for such a nice restaurant."
"Decided to try out a new Indian restaurant apart from a few of our usuals just to give it a go.We ordered lamb biryani, lamb saag, and butter chicken plus two orders of basmati rice.First of all, they are GENEROUS in their serving portion. It's so much food that for two adults, we are having them for 2 whole meals. So definitely it's value for the money spent. However, why the 3-star rating? Both the lamb saag and the butter chicken taste very sweet. It's sweeter than what we are used to with Indian food and so it just didn't taste right for us. Both of the entrees had a good amount of spice flavor still, but just too sweet for our palate. It would have been great is they say half the sugar/sweetness amount. Not sure if this was a fluke where someone made a mistake, but definitely not something we would have unless the owner or someone can assure us this was a day where sugar was used instead of salt? The lamb biryani rice was good, however. A little on the spicier side, but when you eat it together with the yogurt side, it is SO good! So this saved our meal for us where we'll have some curry and then some biryani rice to remove that sweet taste."
"Unprofessional store - rude front desk clerk - always speaking rudely - the lady doesn't care - speaking arrogantly and intimidatingly Ordered food through app, they did not charge up their laptop so didn't receive the order and refused to serve me until I paid out of pocket"
"This new Nepalese restaurant on Northside is a great addition to the neighborhood.I stopped in last week and tried the Nepalese dish, Momos as well as another noodle dish from the region and their take on wings. All very good."
"First time order snd and only got naan and channa massala but it was delicious . Honestly, it was the best channa massala I've had and that's one of my favorite dishes. Be aware this isn't a stand alone restaurant; it's part of East Bay Eats. I would definitely return to try more of their food.P.S. medium is pretty spicy"
"The bento box is so so so good! The flavors and spice level were perfect. Will be back"
