"Great sandwiches and a few salads. My fav is the turkey and cheddar on soft french with all the fixings plus jalapenos. I've tried the pastrami - It was good but it threw me off as it was cold. Prior to that, I was used to eating it hot. It wasn't bad though, just different. I must warn you about the purple onions - they're super strong!! I love onions but these are just too strong yet I don't remove from my sandwich . The size of the sandwich is a bit large. I normally eat half with chips and save the other half for later. Average price; around $10. The potato salad is pretty good! Great place for a quick sandwich! Note - You place your order with the Ladies and if you're paying with cash, you may pay them but if you are paying with a card then you have to go pay at the liquor store counter."
"We came in two days in a row to do wine tastings and purchases. This wine bar is one of the shops that closes a bit late than other shops at ferry building market place. So if you want to hang out longer this is the place to be. We had wine tastings on both days, hubby also bought some reserved wines to take to dinners. The selections were great and prices were reasonable. They serve caviar and other finger foods, the Mediterranean mezze was tasty with our wines. Service was very friendly and attentive. I really liked the relaxing vibes. If you are a wine lover you should definitely come in to try some wines and hang out for an hour or two!"

"This place is great The store is really clean and super organized. Prices are on point. They have a huge selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Definitely my new favorite spot for drinks"
"The service was five stars The drinks 5 stars The food was 2 stars. Mismatch opportunities as well as mismatch level of service. Ordered the sidecar drink which was very delicious and my father ordered a beer. He ordered fish and chips and when he asked for tartar sauce they didn't have any. So what's the whole point of fish and chips? I ordered the Snow White Pizza. It was served lukewarm and not fully cooked. You can tell they cooked the dough and the sauce and then added lukewarm toppings on top. Not sure what the white chunky cheese was. This is very basic pub food in general and does not meet the expectations of a higher bar that they provide. This was a mistake coming here for dinner."
"This is my local liquor store/corner market... they've got bacon & eggs (it's decent, it's bacon, what do you want?) for my man's breakfasts, Arizona Sweet Tea (which kicks ass in a hypoglycemic way), reasonable to cheaply priced cigs (marbs & camels & shit for 4, 4.50... American Spirits & the like for 5, with tax)... Pint of Jim Beam for 8.08, Seagrams for pennies more, standard variety of mixers. The staff here's awesome. Being new to the neighborhood and expecting regular patronage, I took the liberty of introducing myself to the almost-always-there guy. I went in somewhat late the other night, and some young East Oakland thug kid came in & started hassling me... cause I'm a pretty thing... and my new buddy chased him off. Yay for nice liquor store clerks. And, as a plus, he doesn't look at my funny when I go in for my 3rd purchase of the day.Update: Sure, they don't have a lot of shit. If you're cooking and find yourself lacking, well... anything, this is Not the place. I generally like my corner store to carry at least 1. sour cream and 2. butter (strangely, the two things I tend to need to "run out for" the most); no such luck here. They were out of Jim Beam for a good while (which, quite honestly, is probably the fault of this household). But, they made up for it this week by stocking Jim Beam Black (aged 8 years!). It's like ordering a steak at a McDonalds. And the last couple weeks I've noticed Bombay Original Dry Gin (no, not sapphire), which you don't see too often."
"A lovely little wine shop tucked away with a fascinating array of bottles arranged by country and type. A real Risk game of territory competing for your eyeline and tastebuds. A wineshop that's analogous to stumbling into a dusty bookstore where you wander around for what catches your feels. Very nice and helpful staff too! And if you, trusty reader, would like a rec, go for a Sauvignon Blanc and try something funky and weird! ($12 and $18 for the two bottles I got)"
"Very good customer service! Good prices, good selection of beers and liquor. Would definitely go back again!!"
"Just rude guy behind the counter. I was the only person in the store and he was behind me every second like I was going to still. I get it that the area isn't the best but all I wanted to tell him is to get the F off. Weird place."
"Before this pesky pandemic hitI dreamed of returning to Scotland.Drinking scotch until I lose my wit,all troubles and worries forgotten. But alas, covid, here we are.My house, a penitentiary. But though I cannot travel farI can bring Scotland to me.Enter this fine establishment a dreamy selection of whisky. And the staff, truly heaven-sent.Their persuasion is a little risky!George, thank you for your suggestionthe Edradour was the best I've ever tasted.Trust everything George says without question.A visit to the Whisky Shop is never time wasted."
"Five stars for the old guy who sings to himself as I buy my third six-pack of the week at 3 in the afternoon.Open: hella late."
"seen Bob's Discount Liquors all over hayward/newark/fremont area. this one has large selection of flavored cigarettos. (no longer smoke so not interested)offerings: large refrigerated section, hard liquors, wine, smokes, snacks. some "new" microbrews, pricey.brew: Drake's IPA (4.99) 7%-slightly hoppy-interesting selections of micros, mainstream brewsnot cheap, comparable or higher than safeway.on draught:-small shop, rents not cheap in this area."
"Krispy Krunchy finally has arrived! I showed up around 1:00pm on a Tuesday. Only fish, thighs, wings, chicken sandwiches, and tenders available. No problem. You just have to take your chances. It is primarily a liquor store. Carried out for home. Even with a bit of traffic, the tenders were delicious. Good sized. I did think of getting the fish, but they looked small for $1.99 each. I'd rather go to Fat Fish. It's a 5 star meal! Ask for hot sauce. It's Crystal!"

After having lunch yesterday at Hog Island Oyster Company, the Mrs. and I took a stroll through the Ferry Building and ended up at the wine bar in the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant. We looked over the tasting menu but ultimately decided to purchase a bottle to drink. I perused the store and landed on the Occidental 2021 Pinot Noir. It was a great choice. The guys behind the bar were really friendly. Jason was great. So if you want people watch while enjoying great wince, check out the wine bar at the Ferry Building Wine Merchant.

My friend and I were headed to "Wicked Little Letters" at lunchtime, so we decided to order food delivered to our seats. We tried to go to the side door where we've ordered before, but it was locked. No sign indicating why ... we knocked as people went by, and they let us in, but the super convenient order bar was unmanned. Again, no signage to send us to the front. We wandered to the front finally, and from getting in line to leaving with our order placed easily took 30 minutes... even though we knew what we wanted. We were presented with a tab to sign for $15, even though our total was more like $80. (It was someone else's tab.)I am unemployed, and my generous friend insisted on paying for the food and the movie tickets. So when the meal was, unlike the movie, largely disappointing, I felt the need to complain. We ordered a veggie burger, fish tacos, sweet potato fries, and two drinks (a vodka gimlet and a Cast Away). The food took about 45 minutes to arrive (which the menu had warned was a possibility), but it must have been sitting quite some time before being delivered... my sweet potato fries were barely warm, and the tacos & burger were unpleasantly soggy. The fish tacos in particular were impossible to eat as a taco--I ended up eating them more like a casserole, with my fork. The tacos were tasty but barely warm. TheCast Away was tasty, too.But for $80 + a generous cash tip... honestly, I felt bad for my friend paying that much for a decidedly disappointing dinner. The drink was good, tho *shrug*

For starters, I'm a little pissed off the gf was first to review Express. Second, this place is no Lee's Market (check my reviews). This being an Oakland Liquor store, there's plenty of tin foil. And brillo pads. They don't have bread, but they have 30 rolls of tin foil. Great. Just what I wanted. A tin foil and brillo pad sandwich. AJ and Sultan hold down the fort most of the time, but Hassan (Pops) can be found around usually to.

This place is a hidden gem of a wine shop in the east bay! They have a really thoughtful and diverse selection of wines with great quality price ratio. You can find anything from reasonably priced Bordeaux wines ($20-$25) to a Tannat from Uruguay and sparkling wines as well. It's pretty easy to pull up on the street and find parking and be in and out in 5-10 minutes. I really like that they have different types of wines you don't see at Safeway or wherever. It drives me crazy when I go to a wine shop and they have Duckhorn of something.. wtf?Logan is a really friendly and knowledgeable gentleman who is inviting and makes the wine purchasing really seamless and fun. It's a nice change from some of the snootiness you can get from other wine retail shops. Sometimes you just want a simple suggestion on a decent wine and get on your way. Next time you are needing a great wine at a reasonable price , do yourself a favor and swing by here. We need more places like this in the greater Bay Area.

In & Out Liquors looks like the average liquor store: unpriced, small selection of beers, snacks, hard liquors, sodas.....the wines offered are low end, reasonable priced. four leaf (4.99?, berlinger 4.99 naked grapes 6.99)buys: barefoot wines, pinot noir (6.99)-got gold from sf. chronicle (2012?)-tasted a bit heavy, a thick kind of smoothnesssips:-friendly offer of help from cashier-lots of parking here.

"Bottleneck, I love you. You are the only place within a 3-mile radius that carries half and half. You even had cranberry sauce in a can on that desperate Thanksgiving last year. You are open late, when all else has long since closed. I never see people selling crack in your parking lot. Thank you, Bottleneck. You've been a lifeline."
"This is definitely a hidden gem, with the Mixed Carnitas Michoacán Burrito as my all time favorite dish here. It hits the spot every time and leaves me fully satisfied. Whenever I visit for lunch I am truly impressed with the quality and tastefulness of the Carnitas Michoacán & Chicharron, it is truly mouth watering and so delicious I can't help myself but to keep craving more and more."
"This liquor store is at the bottom of seven hills and Appian way. The only store for miles... You would think the prices would be worse. I found the prices pretty standard. The selection is pretty good. They had what I needed. The plexiglass that separated the employees from the customer's was big, very tall and long. Well thought out! I was masked, so was the cashier while I was there.I am starting to see, or possibly just now noticed these Bob's discount liquors popping up all over the place... I rarely frequent liquor stores. But, sometimes you just might need one little thing. They're called convenience stores for a reason...Plus the cashier was a laker fan, Lol. So they got an extra star for that!Being a Warriors fan also, You guys rockin GSW gear will also get an extra star... wink wink, Lol..."
"Not bad for a corner store....chicken!!I'm in the area on a regular...but this isn't the local store I frequent. I pass by all the time and noticed the changes......my friend who lives in the area, was put on notice that the food here is pretty good. So lets see...."
"We stumbled upon this place while exploring downtown SSF. They have a great variety of spirits including things like a strawberry gin from Japan that we'd never heard of, let alone seen, before. The prices are slightly high but not outrageous, and frankly, if you want to support local businesses as opposed to big box liquor chains, you can do that here and it won't break your bank.I appreciate the good customer service and knowledgeable staff. We had a bunch of questions about both gin and bourbon and found the staff helpful."
"This liquor store has many varieties of liquor good selection of beer, wine, and the hard stuff, I was pleasantly surprised by the owners friendliness A+. The store is neat and well organized. :)"
"I love coming to the Santa Fe market for fresh fruit in the morning. I also appreciate they are consistent with keeping stock of much needed household items during the pandemic, as a small business they are doing a great job to care for their community. They have great prices and we are very grateful to have them in the community!"
"I always stop by for some soda. They carry Mexican glass bottled sprite and coke which taste so much better than the American coke and that's why I like going here."
"They used to sell us cigarettes and beer when we were in high school.Loved these guys!!"
"This is the usual liquor store you find on almost every corner. The snack selection is pretty good from chips to candy not much is the area of real food but if all you need is a quick bite then this is a good stop. They have a good selection of sodas and I'm sure a good selection of beer and liquor but since I am either taking a break from work to grab a snack or just leaving work I have never looked. They have a big selection of Scratchers if I remember correctly and the lady who usually helps me is always very friendly and quick."
"This is the same Verve, as the one from NYC's Tribeca neighborhood. It's one of the new places now amongst other nice shops along Fillmore Street in Pacific Heights. Inside this beautiful new space, you'll find wines from all over the world at varying price points. I saw many in the $20 to $50 price range. Unfortunately, I arrived when they were just about closing, so I didn't get a chance to chat with them extensively, but if you're in the neighborhood, it's worth a peek inside. The huge marble table in the center is a wow-piece! I wish I had a kitchen that would accommodate a huge center table like that.If you want to rose all day this summer, they have a huge offering of rose wines out in front. I love a glass of rose in the warm weather, but I think it's really because I like the attractiveness of the pink blush hue in a wine glass. Their focus is on wines from smaller producers, which make your wine buying excursion ever more interesting. They also pride themselves on service and provide sommelier consults for you on wine selection and wine pairing. You can also book tastings and seminars with their sommeliers."
"I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this place and the portion sizing. This is not to say that the portion sizes were big. This is more the things that I thought we're gonna be bigger portion were smaller than what I assumed and vice versa. The ones that I thought we're gonna be smaller. We're bigger portions.3/4 of my table, ended up ordering the same thing. I do not know if we are all on the same page, but I felt that my steak was a little bit dry and not what I was hoping for nor accustomed to. I will say the onions were grilled too perfection and that the Portabella mushrooms were great. I did, however, know that my mashed potatoes were not necessarily mash, but more chunked and the chipotle butter was very iffy for me. I don't think it made or broke the mail, I really think the stake would've been fine with or without it.The fondue was a nice surprise and a really big portion. But I don't think it is something I would order again. The rib appetizer ended up being too sweet for me, and I would definitely pass on it in the future. This place is two stories in my group was lucky enough to be seated alone upstairs as it was a catch-up between friends and it was nice to have a place where we could all just talk and not be distracted by everything that was going on downstairs. Our waitress did a really good job of checking in on us, which was nice. Parking here is a bit hard as it is technically in downtown in the San Pedro market. So I would recommend parking in the garage closest to the old spaghetti factory. Just to get a parking spot and not be rushed. From there you walk about 2 to 3 minutes and you're all set."
"This is another Oakland corner market but it is at a busy location and its a fairly large place located at the corner of 40th St. & San Pablo at the Oakland/Emeryville border. If you have read some of my other reviews about cona licka stos then you will know it like the other ones. One thing about Black & White is that it is pretty eye catching from the out side and they alway have some really cool mini building posters plastered on one of the sides of the building. Yesterday I noticed that the current posters are of Adam Lamberts new CD & several other very nice posters of Ms. call her "Janet" Jackson and of course a poster advertising some type of liquor. Now all you wanna be hood rats if you looking for yo "G" wear and you can't find it in Mt. View, you fo sho can find it in this sto:tshirts/hats/fake ass jewry, cd's by local smoklin rappers. Oh yeah, of course they have all the usual high priced groceries, an abundance of beer, liquor, cigarettes, swisher, and cRAzEee ass customers. And yep, someone is always askin fo a dollah."
"This pizza is better than Italian pizzaria's.... New owners are great... the atmosphere is awesome and new owner is solid guy from Boston. Great beer taps and nice wine selection......Highly recommended!!!!!"
"It's not the best place (selection wise) to get your booze fix before the clock strikes 2AM but the guys who work there are super friendly! They don't follow you around and they even laugh at your dirty jokes. Well, I didn't say a dirty joke, but my amigo did. ; ) The prices aren't that bad but if you're buying for a bbq (30 pack, etc.), I suggest going to Walmart just another mile down Dyer."
"This little wine shop has it's priorities straight: Interesting, affordable wines. Helpful, wine-obsessed staff. No-frills ambiance, with bottles on display and boxes below to grab from. It's like a mini wine warehouse, and you can always find just what you're looking for thanks to the help of their always thoughtful shopkeepers. When I come in, I just start throwing out wine adjectives, and the staff and I begin our little hunt for the ideal bottle. I'm always a tad nervous that the "dream wine" I'm looking for will end up being the most expensive BUT I've never spent more than $14/bottle here! Their prices are shockingly low, for such unique bottles. They also have a monthly value-pack, where you get 6 wines for $70. The bottles change each month, but it's always a fun variety and good excuse to sample some stuff you wouldn't normally try (for a steal of a deal!)"
"Great selection of all sorts of drinks. Beer: paired in 4 can sets but you can mix and match or just get oneEasy to find.Tons of parking.Really clean."
"A great addition to the Berkeley scene. A whole wall is devoted to the wine display organized by country which makes for a very interesting browsing experience. They even have a selection from Lebanon. We went for the taco pop-up night and enjoyed it immensely. Food was delicious service friendly everything was great"
"I have a tip for you. The phone number appears to be 510-5 82-3333. The one on the wall on the side of the building does not answer. You can order pizza by the slice and they have a veggie pizza for $5.99. Basically, they make it fresh. So, order ahead of time even for a slice. Then go over to the dollar store. Grab a 16 fluid ounce Coca-Cola including 0 cal for $1.25. Put in for a super lotto quick pick because you just saved yourself over a dollar in soda price at the liquor store. The crust was exceptional. I'd come here again. It's a shame that the outdoor seating in the back is not used for café seating as a restaurant. We could use an outdoor seating spot like this as a restaurant café with this good parking. All these new developments happening and this outdoor seating café is underutilized as a liquor store and a pizza place in the back. No seating all pick up and delivery. Hayward city, see if you can talk him into making this a café. Offer them a great deal on grants for upgrading this brick building into something that's more earthquake. Friendly if that's the problem. It's a great addition to the urban scene downtown. Lots of potential! Higher return than the little café at the library. And turn the Lucky into a Trader Joe's!"
"Located next to food maxx and home depot. This place has a nice selection of liquor and beer at very friendly prices. 5 out of 5 for service, quality , and cheap prices!!!!! Much recommended!!"
"We used to buy King Cobras, (King cobes), St. Ides, Mickey's and Old English (Ole' E) 40s at this joint. And they sell budweiser 40s, ice cold.. Four stars!"
"I am that kind of person that likes drinking wine, but I am terrible at choosing wines. A big wine list at a restaurant intimidates me and walking into a wine shop like this, with shelves full of wines, has a similar effect. What I liked about The Jug Shop though is that they "curated" a select few of their wines by adding little notes to the shelf. Kind of like you'd find in an independent bookstore, where you would find staff picks with little book reviews. Now, I'm pretty gullible and who know if they just posted notes to the bottles that they wanted to get rid of, but I liked this touch and it helped me zoom in and focus on a few choices. In fact, I even took a picture of the little "review" they'd written and sent it to my my friend who hosted me for dinner that evening and for whom I'd gotten a bottle of wine. This store is a "weird" one in that it looks and feels like a warehouse, yet there is a tasting area set up in the back of it. And browsing through some of the other reviews, I understand that they host serious tastings here and are quite professional at what they're doing...which in turn gives me confidence that the "staff picks" were honest and true. Lastly, I want to mention the Roti Roti truck in the parking lot: what a genius idea to pair this food truck with a wine store! If I weren't headed for dinner, I would've totally picked up a rotisserie chicken that would've certainly gone well with that bottle of wine I'd just picked. In fact, I've worked with the folks from Roti Roti for a company event and their chicken is fantastic."
"Decent 20 oz. beers to grab on the way home when you are getting take out across the street at Champa Gardens. Yeah for Chocolate Stout."
