"Fly Bar had a decent food selection in addition to drinks and cocktails. They had a lot of outdoor seating too that was dog friendly. There were a a couple options for pizza and I loved the veggie one, and it was pretty affordable for the portion size. We also ordered wings and a salad which I thought were ok. Overall thought this was a nice bar with good outdoor seating and food!"
"Absolutely great! Went on a rainy day, and the ambiance felt straight out of a movie. Perfect place to grab a coffee and read a book. However, it did get quite full after a while. We went for breakfast, and one downside: ordering food was a little confusing. They don't have a food menu conveniently placed for you to look at before ordering. We had to wait to reach the cashier to look at the menu at the counter, which held up the line. The wait after ordering wasn't too long, which was nice, and food was brought to our table. We ordered a Cesar Wrap and Chaplin. Both were great and packed with flavor. highly recommend for a nice brunch and cafe spot!"

"I am that kind of person that likes drinking wine, but I am terrible at choosing wines. A big wine list at a restaurant intimidates me and walking into a wine shop like this, with shelves full of wines, has a similar effect. What I liked about The Jug Shop though is that they "curated" a select few of their wines by adding little notes to the shelf. Kind of like you'd find in an independent bookstore, where you would find staff picks with little book reviews. Now, I'm pretty gullible and who know if they just posted notes to the bottles that they wanted to get rid of, but I liked this touch and it helped me zoom in and focus on a few choices. In fact, I even took a picture of the little "review" they'd written and sent it to my my friend who hosted me for dinner that evening and for whom I'd gotten a bottle of wine. This store is a "weird" one in that it looks and feels like a warehouse, yet there is a tasting area set up in the back of it. And browsing through some of the other reviews, I understand that they host serious tastings here and are quite professional at what they're doing...which in turn gives me confidence that the "staff picks" were honest and true. Lastly, I want to mention the Roti Roti truck in the parking lot: what a genius idea to pair this food truck with a wine store! If I weren't headed for dinner, I would've totally picked up a rotisserie chicken that would've certainly gone well with that bottle of wine I'd just picked. In fact, I've worked with the folks from Roti Roti for a company event and their chicken is fantastic."
"Conveniently located inside of the marketplace, you can pick up groceries and meats just around the corner and then stop by here. Plenty of parking options. I stopped by to look at some cheeses last night when I noticed some snacks on a table. Dane let me know that they were hosting a wine tasting -- and it was $10 for 5 pours and some food pairings. It was a few minutes before they were closing, but they were very accommodating. Turns out it was Dane's first wine tasting that he planned -- and he did a very good job. Since it's the weekend of Super Bowl, he had snacks that are typically had during the game and it was unexpected and delicious. He was very knowledgeable and I ended up getting one of the wines, some Marcona almonds, Calvestrano olives and a mustard seed Gouda. I'll be back here for the tastings for sure-- it was fun and affordable."
"Was looking for a place in the east bay that carried an eclectic list of wines and after poking around on Yelp for a bit I found The Wine Mine. Located in a central spot and plenty of parking made this a logical choice, so was pumped to check it out. The wine selection was really fun and interesting with items from all over the globe. The place was fairly well merchandised but, felt a tad empty in areas. Aside from that, I really enjoyed walking around and checking out the selection. Btw, most of the wines are in everyday price points so this place is great for your Tuesday night bangers. I ended up purchasing five bottles that varied from Champagne, Chablis, Lange Nebbiolo, and Pinot from Burgundy. I opened them all last night for a wedding tasting and they were all delightful in their own regard. I'm just glad they were there to purchase!"
"The service was five stars The drinks 5 stars The food was 2 stars. Mismatch opportunities as well as mismatch level of service. Ordered the sidecar drink which was very delicious and my father ordered a beer. He ordered fish and chips and when he asked for tartar sauce they didn't have any. So what's the whole point of fish and chips? I ordered the Snow White Pizza. It was served lukewarm and not fully cooked. You can tell they cooked the dough and the sauce and then added lukewarm toppings on top. Not sure what the white chunky cheese was. This is very basic pub food in general and does not meet the expectations of a higher bar that they provide. This was a mistake coming here for dinner."
"Pizzeria Violetta is one of my sister and brother-in-law's favorite pizza places in Oakland. They introduced my wife and me to this place. My BIL likes to get pizza by the slice here. This is a locally-owned pizzeria.First, I have to mention that the pictures of the pizzas I saw online looked exactly like what we picked up in person. We got two whole pizzas. They were pretty big at 18 inches each. We had the following:* Italian Sausage & Eggplant Chutney Pizza ($35) - pickled onions, roasted peppers, garlic puree, mint-marinated feta cheese, mozzarella* Sweet Little Pig Pizza ($35) - brown sugar candied bacon, artisan pepperoni, fresh basil, cheese blend, organic housemade tomato sauce. My sister was quite excited about the Italian Sausage & Eggplant Chutney Pizza because it was a seasonal special and we were able to get one before the store sold out. Both pizzas were delicious. They were well made with high-quality ingredients, even topping distribution (with lots of toppings), and super-tasty crusts that were charred just right. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. And the pizzas were filling too. These were among the best pizzas my wife and I have had in the Bay Area. She liked the pizzas so much that she said she wished there was a Pizzeria Violetta back home in Atlanta. On the Italian Sausage & Eggplant Chutney Pizza, the pieces of sausage were savory and gratifying -- they really stood out. I loved the pizza's garlicky flavor. The Sweet Little Pig Pizza was like a classic pizza, but amped up in terms of flavor and satisfaction. It was really good. We also got some condiments to go like Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and chili oil.In addition to creative pizzas, Pizzeria Violetta sells Fiorello's artisan gelato from nearby San Rafael as well as a unique variety of beer, wine, and sake. This business replaced another pizza joint, Slicer, in June 2021. The restaurant is located near the north end of Piedmont Avenue. The space is small and clean with limited indoor seating only. There's a six-top in the center and about a dozen counter-height seats along the storefront and wall. I think most customers get takeout. The folks behind this place named it after their daughter, Violet.Check out Pizzeria Violetta on Instagram at @pizzeria.violetta. https://www.instagram.com/pizzeria.violetta"
"I live so close by and just when I thought I don't want just another sandwich, this place is always there for you. I don't drink alcohol but I don't go there for that Their sandwiches . Their Italian food. The cool vibe sets the tone when you walk in. All ages come by for various reasons Need to stop by !"
"Cork'n Bottle have a fantastic selection of beer & alcohol. A tasting room with many many many choices that is dog friendly and open late. It has the perfect dive bar feel to it. But most importantly fantastic customer service. Which is the best reason to come in and spend money. I highly recommend you come here. Especially if you're looking for something specific."
"Perfectly crispy and soft amount crust pizza. Ive tried pizza in other states and this one topped all of them for me. Flavors were fresh and really flavorful! Stopped here on a fluke and ended up even sticking around for dessert! They have self service kiosks but the staff is still super friendly and the manager even brought us some water without asking. We look forward to making this a normal pit stop on our way to/out of the Bay! Hope to see it on its own restaurant one day outside of the mall area"
"I have given this place a ton of business during Covid (and now after). Sad they took away the yummy sandwiches BUT! The new beer cooler has a great selection! I always order the same thing and the owner always keeps a cold bottle for me on hand. One time I ordered (delivery) and he left a note for me apologizing the wine wasn't cold. He's so sweet. Love the fresh veggie selection, great coffee choices and you can pick up treats from other local business. I always go there to pick up cookies from a local Berkeley business to take home to my Mom. If there is something by chance they don't have they will order it! Love this store and I never go to Safeway anymore. Highly recommended! Ps. They take Apple Pay, Google Pay, all cards AND EBT."
"This wine shop has an extensive array of wine from everywhere in the world. It's my go-to spot for gifts, preparing for company, charcuterie, or just to taste something new. They have tastings on Fridays and Saturdays and occasional events like seated tastings with winemakers. The cheese case has anything you could ask for and they also have jams, honeycomb, olives, chocolate, and potato chips! Staff are very knowledgeable and there is always something great in their refrigerated case."

I had seen this place hosting Monday night Bingo and wanted to check it out.I wish the signage was a little more apparent, since I couldn't tell if I was in the right place or if they were even having Bingo. It's hosted by SFTrivia, and isn't the flashiest but a fun weeknight activity. They have multiple rounds and prizes including fun drinks and some giveaways. We got the Austin Mule and Act Right (sangria). I loved the mule and it had the perfect kick and was definitely strong enough. They have a selection of pizzas and appetizers. We didn't end up getting any of the food, but it also didn't look or smell all that appealing.I might come back for Bingo night, but not just for the food or drinks.

I had such an amazing experience here! I was otw home from work but traffic was so crazy, I decided to stop by this spot cause I thought coffee, crepes, and beer were an interesting combo. When I got there, it had a nice cafe vibe like I would love to study there, but at the same time, it was nice that they had different types of beer available. The customer service was super nice and friendly. Overall, definitely worth a visit. I tried one of their seasonal lattes, the chicken pest crepe, and one of their sweets. SO bomb!!!

Great selection of wine and spirits just off busy Polk St. The folks staffing the shop were thoughtful, knowledgeable, and helpful. Prices were at par with big box stores. You have a choice--choose a locally owned store with folks who aim to please.

Stopped by here for the first time yesterday and I was blown away by the excellent customer service provided to us by Andy. We came in just to look since we were walking around the area, and ended up buying some cheese and wine. I love cheese, but my knowledge on the subject is elementary at best. Andy took the time to ask us what we were looking for, and made a few recommendations. After sampling two different items, we purchased a pound of cheese which definitely fit the flavor and texture profile we wanted. Andy also made some recommendations on wine, and made sure to be respectful of our budget. His knowledge of all the store offerings mixed with his enthusiasm resulted in a great experience for something that is usually a bit intimidating.

I stumbled upon the Wine Mine while waiting for my smoothies at The Well. The Wine Mine has a great selection of wines, at affordable prices. I had just bought the same Frank Family wine at Whole Foods the day before, for $10-15 MORE than what the Wine Mine sold it for! (Edited, thanks for flagging my error david) The prices here are cheaper than other bigger stores, so why not save money AND support local?!The guy working there (I didn't catch his name) was super friendly. I was being indecisive and he recommended a Cab that cost $35 that normally sells for ~$100. I also asked him for a recommendation for a Rioja and he didn't push the more expensive botttles & recommended one for around $30. If I still lived in Oakland, I'd go here for all my wine need

My friend and I were headed to "Wicked Little Letters" at lunchtime, so we decided to order food delivered to our seats. We tried to go to the side door where we've ordered before, but it was locked. No sign indicating why ... we knocked as people went by, and they let us in, but the super convenient order bar was unmanned. Again, no signage to send us to the front. We wandered to the front finally, and from getting in line to leaving with our order placed easily took 30 minutes... even though we knew what we wanted. We were presented with a tab to sign for $15, even though our total was more like $80. (It was someone else's tab.)I am unemployed, and my generous friend insisted on paying for the food and the movie tickets. So when the meal was, unlike the movie, largely disappointing, I felt the need to complain. We ordered a veggie burger, fish tacos, sweet potato fries, and two drinks (a vodka gimlet and a Cast Away). The food took about 45 minutes to arrive (which the menu had warned was a possibility), but it must have been sitting quite some time before being delivered... my sweet potato fries were barely warm, and the tacos & burger were unpleasantly soggy. The fish tacos in particular were impossible to eat as a taco--I ended up eating them more like a casserole, with my fork. The tacos were tasty but barely warm. TheCast Away was tasty, too.But for $80 + a generous cash tip... honestly, I felt bad for my friend paying that much for a decidedly disappointing dinner. The drink was good, tho *shrug*

Date: 3/1/2025 Time: 1:25 PM 58° CoolI am actually at The Pizzeria Violetta in the Prescott Market Hall in West Oakland. Currently they are a pop up kitchen; however, they will have a brick and mortar set up in the future.I am hungry and undecided as to what I want to order. After perusing the menu, I selected the jumbo chicken wings (1/2 dozen) and an Italian sub sandwich. Total cost: approximately. $34 (tax and tip included). The chicken wings were tossed with a hot honey butter sauce and served with a bleu cheese dipping sauce. I am not a bleu cheese fan. Nix it on that dipping sauce. The wings were freshly prepared, delicious, crispy, flavorful and moist. My brother and I enjoyed them. I could only eat half of the sandwich. It was loaded with an assortment of meats, lettuce, sliced tomato, cheese, etc. Freshly prepared, the sandwich was on point. Prescott Market Hall is not near my home. A future visit will be at the brick and mortar on Piedmont Avenue. The line was long for people ordering food, but the employees move things along smoothly. They certainly did an awesome job and with much pleasantness.

Dining in wine country can really take a beating on your wallet...and your sobriety. But, we won't talk about the latter. ;)If you're looking for cheap eats to soak up all the alkie or a meal to take back to your hotel for late night drunchies: MALFATTI, an old-time Napa Italian staple. The cousin of gnudi and gnocchi, Malfatti is an Italian spinach ricotta dumpling that you can find at Lawler's or their competitor, Clemente's. I've tried Clemente's so on my latest Napa visit, I had to try Lawler's. Lawler's is a liquor store that also sells old-skool Italian fare. Takeout only. There's an extensive selection of booze. Wish there was a better selection of non-alcoholic drinks, specifically sparkling water. M E N U* Malfatti, ravioli, spaghetti, garlic bread, soups, deli sandwiches, and lasagna trays (unbaked).F O O D* Clam Chowder (Pint-$4.99)--Sold cold but they can warm it up for you. Thick and creamy with chockfull of potato chunks and bits of chewy clams. Decent. Not too salty. * 1/2 Malfatti, 1/2 Ravioli (Dozen-$4.99): https://tinyurl.com/42ytf9ap--Malfatti: The breakfast link shaped spinach ricotta dumpling is tender and savory, served in a semi-watery marinara sauce. --Ravioli: The cheese ravioli was soft from swimming in the hot marinara sauce. This humble, working-class fare reminds me of something you'll find at an old skool Italian place with red & white checkered vinyl covered tables. Or, The Garden Club...SF Peninsula peeps know what's up. S E R V I C EAll business from the owner(?). There was a lady stocking bottles that was very friendly. Call ahead if you're on a time crunch. A M B I A N C EYour local neighborhood liquor store. No seating inside or outside.P A R K I N GSeveral spaces in front of the shop. Overall, I prefer Clemente's malfatti that's slightly softer, in a richer marinara sauce that's sprinkled with parm. But, at nearly half the cost, Lawler's may come out ahead for value...for the budget-conscious.

"I have a tip for you. The phone number appears to be 510-5 82-3333. The one on the wall on the side of the building does not answer. You can order pizza by the slice and they have a veggie pizza for $5.99. Basically, they make it fresh. So, order ahead of time even for a slice. Then go over to the dollar store. Grab a 16 fluid ounce Coca-Cola including 0 cal for $1.25. Put in for a super lotto quick pick because you just saved yourself over a dollar in soda price at the liquor store. The crust was exceptional. I'd come here again. It's a shame that the outdoor seating in the back is not used for café seating as a restaurant. We could use an outdoor seating spot like this as a restaurant café with this good parking. All these new developments happening and this outdoor seating café is underutilized as a liquor store and a pizza place in the back. No seating all pick up and delivery. Hayward city, see if you can talk him into making this a café. Offer them a great deal on grants for upgrading this brick building into something that's more earthquake. Friendly if that's the problem. It's a great addition to the urban scene downtown. Lots of potential! Higher return than the little café at the library. And turn the Lucky into a Trader Joe's!"
"Great selection of all sorts of drinks. Beer: paired in 4 can sets but you can mix and match or just get oneEasy to find.Tons of parking.Really clean."
"I love Eddie's! The staff are always so nice and helpful. The customer service is amazing every visit. here. It's really nice having a small, local corner store to support. I mostly come here for beverages (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic) and sometimes grab some snacks while I am at it, or some essentials. They have random kitchen and household items which is great for when you really need something but don't have time to go to the larger grocery store (or just don't want to deal with parking or crowds).I can always find a spot in their lot, making it extra convenient!"
"I've been seeing this place on snapchat so often, I couldn't wait to try it out for myself. Their pre-packaged alcohol packs w/ nifty names adds excitement to your evening.I tried the gangster paradise (hypnotique, peach and pineapple ciroc, and pineapple juice) which came in a cool, labeled ziploc bag. They also give you a cup of ice and a straw to mix them together. Get ready for the buzz of your life!! Not only is the product unique, but in the evenings, the market turns into a makeshift club -disco lights and hip hop. They also sell snacks, I bought a bag of hot Cheetos (together, $17). And there is a taco truck right outside, saved my life. I hope I can come back soon!"
"This Donut Shop is a liquor store stocked with drinks, beer & wine, candy, Chinese food, lotto tickets and scratchers in addition to donuts.I'm mainly commenting on the donuts which are spot on, a dozen assorted is still a little under $10. I enjoy most their maple old fashioned but haven't had a bad donut there. They also bake their own croissants, big butter croissants or ones that are stuffed with ham and cheese. With some of their fried stuff, they have these big chicken drumsticks, sometimes heading into work I get a croissant, a chicken drumstick and shred some of the drumstick meat into the croissant for a pretty decent make-shift breakfast sandwich.I work a block away so the main challenge is avoiding having them too often, but it's a good thing that my coworkers help me."
"Good little spot with big selection of craft beer and liquor! Perfect as there are never any lines as customers are in then out with the quickness."
"Was looking for a place to buy wine because I recently started partaking in having a few glasses after work. I found this store on yelp and my goodness it is a big beautiful store! The gentleman who helped me was incredibly kind and helpful, I will become a regular here. Thank you!"
"This little market has what every corner store traditionally carries a meat counter, fresh produce, a decent amount of basic essentials, and of course a litter of conventional spirits. The workers are generally friendly and the front counter accepts everyday tender. My favorite part of the store is the meat market. Bring cash, debit or EBT only. This is not where you go for organic or cage-free or free-range, there's no grass fed or prime cuts, this is chock full of conventional poultry (chicken and turkey), and pork and beef that's generally frozen or nearly frozen. They make low-end sandwiches which have things uncommon to most California delis, like spicy hog head cheese, hot links, liverwurst, and bologna. No frills, but if you need a fix of neck bones, pig feet, or salt pork stop here. They even have meat packages at reduced prices."
"While on the 5 star roll- that part of me which is happy to be home in San Leandro is apparent by which places i found myself making my first appearances in the first few days of being home..Ok so im not giving this place 5 stars for selling liqour. Although i do love that they sell my sparkling water, sparkling apple juice, and a few other must haves. As they are the closest "store" & the one open latest and i can not live without sparkling water- this is very important to me.But i give them 5 stars because of the service. The young men who run the store remember everyone, what we like, new stuff we want carried, our names, our dogs names...And after being gone a month, knew exactly how long it had been since i last visited.."
"We were touring my friend Josh and Liz's new neighborhood looking for all of the usual necessities and at the top of the list was to peruse the shelves of their closest liquor store. They had an ample wine section and a fairly complete hard liquor stash as well. The 20 oz. beers on display were a bit lacking but we did walk out of there with a new taste sensation. My friend Josh introduced me to my first beer and tomato juice combo. She says that both Dona Tomas and their sister local Tacubaya both serve up a tasty beer/tomato juice concoction. I sampled the La Pinata III version on a recent visit. I love bloody Marys and I love beer. This brings the two together. It is a way of introducing beer acceptably into a breakfast drink. What a concept!Anyway, while combing the shelves at Alameda Cellars we happened upon a tall boy of Chelada brought to you by the good folks at Budweiser. Needless to say, I had to try it. They gave me the required small brown bag so that I could drink it on our walk back to Josh and Liz's new pink palace. The rest of our crew thumbed their noses at our new find but Josh and I enjoyed every last drop of it.For the health conscious, they also offer a Bud Light version. Try it, you will like it, or not."
"Like whaaa!? This place was a bit different growing up. In my younger days this was the place to swing by late hours for the last run of alchohol and tobacco products like any O'l liquor store but at some point added a grill and had burgers n fries so also munchies. But now, they leased the grill to what use to Borinquen Soul food truck is now a brick n mortar part of of 2 Star Liquore which is a huge bonus. The liquore/spirits selections are vast! From bottom of the barrel rock gut vodkas such Taka to high end organic Tequila that just baffled the hell out of me lolThey have great tobacco selections, especially if you roll your own cigarette, brands like Peter Stokkebye, they even Swan slim filters. Perfectly convenient store but also good for last min hoste gifts"
"Decent size corner store. Almost every thing you need here at a corner convenient price. Dollars beers is always a great thing! Cool staff. Cash back with debit cards is convenient."
"The store has definitely been upgrade after new owners. Shelves always full, clean, and wide variety of wines and liquors. New owners worked 7 days a week to regain lost customers. I always go here if I feel like drinking. Highly recommended!"
"Usually, I am not into buying single beers but my co-worker wanted to try some strong beer (malt liquor) and I was happy to pick-up some for him because he helped my so much! I usually pass this store each day; therefore, I went in to make my purchases! When I went in, I was amazed by the assortment of singles in the cooler, from selection of craft beer to the large, 24oz cans, of malt liquor! Prices were really good compared to even the discount super markets! The amazing part was the stocking clerk spoke to me to ask how he could help me choose the beer for my friend. This is something I have not experienced before at a neighborhood liquor store! He answered my questions about alcohol content and taste, thereafter, recommending some very good priced choices - King Cobra and Natural Ice, which were both in the 24 oz cans. These were strong stuff to me from looking at content on the labels. Overall, a great experience, which I was not expecting! I would return when I need some stuff! I see they are installing a soda fountain and they have ice available for a good price!"
"Pros 1. Local liquor store to buy stuff.2. Has many liquor options. 3. Staff is pretty friendlyCons 1. Pretty ghetto based on the fact that there are, most of the time, people outside talking gangsta shit and smoking weed. 2. Literally Smells like weed and piss.3 there are no price tags on liquor. I had to ask some one to tell me the price of each beer. Which seems pretty inconvenient.4. They charge a fee if you use plastic money. They didn't tell me that, just debited from the card."
"Clean inside with lots of variety and helpful staff. They were able to quickly point out the value prices champagne for low budget mimosas. I'd go there again if I'm in the neighborhood and had a need. Why only 4 stars? The prices were a little high but maybe that's everywhere now"
"I always come to this market for snacks and little 'around the house things' i need to buy. Garbage bags for 99 cents! Ant Spray for $3 a can! Trolli sour candies!Alright, alright... so there may not be much difference between this liqour store and the next, but the one thing that sets this place apart are the workers. The fellas that work here are very friendly and have a great sense of humor."
"Quality neighborhood liquor store. Everyone needs to support your local business owners."
"This is a great neighborhood liquor store! So convenient if you live in the area and the staff is super friendly."
"These guys have lots of allocated liquors but they are definitely overpriced. Maybe that's why they still have what they have. He wanted $200 for Blanton's when I just got it for $120 in Bermuda. Certain bottles are fairly priced but he's definitely price gauging on other bottles."
"Its alright...good selection. I agree with Mel. H in that, if its past sunset, don't go alone because the sketchy people in front. Its at a very convenient spot for sure."
"They used to sell us cigarettes and beer when we were in high school.Loved these guys!!"
"We came in here specifically for the package drinks.I have to say that the marketing is super creative. There's many options to choose from and while I would have loved to have a bag that includes a sugar-free/diet drink - I was in a liquor store so that was not a problem.Spent a pretty penny on two bags but it was worth it. Would be a good gift to bring someone or a great way to start the party."
