Was searching for a Crunchwrap that was better than Taco Bell and this place came up. At the time, I was also wanted loaded fries so I got both.I got steak for the Crunchwrap and chicken for the loaded fries and both are amazing choices, especially with the added free toppings. I know that the fries themselves were fried well and crispy, however, when loaded with all the sauces, it's hard for the crispiness to stand out. The items also came with 2 sauces, one like a Thai chili on the sweeter side and the other was like a spicy-Afghani sauce and they both go so well with the food.I saw some seating outside and possibly some inside but I'm not too sure about the indoor seating. Staff is super friendly. Parking is street meter.Overall, great fusion between the two cuisines that complement each other really well. Go check them out!

Had this place bookmarked for awhile, but never got the chance to check it out until today! We ordered through DoorDash and I bet it would've tasted even better if we were to have ordered it in person and ate it there! We ordered the golden burrito and it was very filling and flavorful. I didn't know what to expect, but the fusion of different flavors went very well together. The burrito was not dry and felt "light" compared to a normal burrito. As in, I didn't feel bad about eating it all lol. I didn't though, because half was enough to get me full! They provided free chips on the side and two sauces, which complimented the burrito. Can't wait to get it again and try their other menu items!

I had a great experience eating at Afghan Burrito! I have been meaning to try here for a while, and I am glad I did. This is the best burrito I have ever eaten, and I will be coming back. You order outside their stand, and there is indoor, heated seating to the right. The seating area had a few tables and utensils with water in front for us to help ourselves. I ordered a Golden Burrito with chicken and steak, and omitted the rice to add all of their free toppings. The server was quick with our order and we were given our food at the tables in the seating area. The burrito was so juicy and loaded. It honestly didn't need the sauce it came with, but every bite just had so much flavor. It was not too heavy and it filled me up so well. I enjoyed every bite, and had a great time.

My family found this spot so we decided to give it a try. it's honestly overhyped in my opinion. I had the golden burrito with grilled chicken which was decent and tasted good. The beef crunchwrap was beyond oily. The oil was just dripping through our fingers. I would suggest for them to do something about the beef crunchwrap so it's not dripping with oil. Still giving it a 4 star because staff was friendly. The regular fries were pretty good and crispy. They have small indoor seating and outside seating. The food came with two sauces a red one and a pinkish one which was yummy.

I think hands down my favorite spot currently in Berkeley. Afghan Burrito will always have a special place in my heart because I first started coming here while pregnant and then continued to come here with baby in tow for a full circle moment. Still.my.favorite.spot.The family-owned feels, wonderful people and staff, the beautiful space (both indoor and outdoor), and the flavor explosions of this incredibly special food that is described "where traditional Afghan spices meet the boldness of Mexican cuisine"...seriously craving it right now as I type this! The Secret Golden Sauce I could literally have on anything and everything. My husband usually gets the Golden Burrito ~ you can get it rolled the traditional way or the Afghan way (fried tortilla, served open). This burrito is massive and packed with your choice of protein, beans, rice, shredded cheese, sour cream, lettuce, pico, golden sauce, and for no additional charge you can add hot sauce, nacho cheese, fajitas, corn, pickled veggies. I usually opt for the chicken burrito bowl, which is also such great value and portion size. A newer menu item we always split is the Golden Crunch Wrap with fried chicken...honestly, one of the best East Bay menu items. Don't sleep on this! I also noticed their menu now offers tacos, loaded fries and nachos, quesadillas, sides, and a kids menu. The Iced Karak Chai is also a game changer if you need an extra pep in your step..I mean there is truly nothing I don't absolutely love about this spot. Metered parking can be tricky on San Pablo Ave, but sometimes you hit the jackpot with open spots in front of the restaurant..those are the best days :)Ask for a variety of their additional sauces and lastly, you can now order ahead through the website or through the Yelp app for pickup pretty true to time. Looking forward to my next meal here!

I came here with my boyfriend and I ordered the veggie crunchwrap and he got the afghan way golden burrito. He said that the burrito is good but the afghan influence is not apparent. I thought the crunchwrap was pretty good but a little too saucy. I wish it had more beans, rice, and/or vegan meat. We weren't really a fan of the sauces provided. However, the atmosphere is very cozy with lanterns and lots of seating.

I recently tried the loaded fries at Afghan Burritos, and they were absolutely fantastic, compared to all the loaded fries I've tried in the bay area the past 10 years! The fries were perfectly crispy and golden, providing the ideal base for the delicious toppings. However, when I got home to finish the rest of the fries, the fries were soggy, but nothing you can do about getting fries to-go. I'd highly recommend the loaded fries to eat for dine in while the fries are still fresh and crispy! The combination of melted cheese, savory meats, and fresh toppings created a mouthwatering experience that I couldn't get enough of. The unique blend of Afghan and Mexican flavors truly sets these loaded fries apart from any other I've tried. I got the surf and turf for my meats and there was a decent amount, I'd expect more based on other loaded fries I've had. Also, the shrimp are a bit on the smaller side, but good enough. They give you 2 tiny hot sauces on the side, which are wayyyyy too small for a Large loaded fries. The white hot sauce was amazing, but the red sauce that tasted like a sweet and spicy asian sauce DID NOT go well with the fries at all. I wish they would give more hot sauce to go!There are plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. The music is blasting pretty loudly for outdoor seating so might not be the best place to sit and talk.

I took my son and friend ice skating. They wanted to go here afterwards as my son's friend loves it here. I got them wash a burrito and they came with a small side of chips with three sauces. I tried the sauces and they were all unique and flavorful. Plenty of seating and I enjoyed my chai. The burritos were huge and the kids ate all of them. I will for sure be back as it is near my work.

It's been a while since I've been to Afghan Burrito (maybe 6 months ish?). My fiancé and I used to love their golden sauce. Recently, however, we went back and tried their chicken rice bowl again. The golden sauce tasted completely different! It wasn't necessarily bad, but it was such a starkly different flavor profile that it threw us off. The menu also has a lot more items now, so I'm not sure if they perhaps had a change in ownership or it was just an off day? Otherwise, I don't know why the golden sauce is such a different flavor. It tastes a lot smokier now, less sweet, and less curry-like now.

I really liked the golden chicken burrito. I've never seen this concept before, but it honestly makes a lot of sense. I would eat the golden sauce on chicken and rice, so why not put it in a burrito? The chicken is tender and the sauce is addicting, I have to stop myself from taking more bites after I'm full. The sweet chili sauce didn't really make sense to me, but the creamy sauce was really good with it. We also got steak nachos and I feel like with a couple tweaks it would be better. The cheese could be melted more and overall it could be hotter. The workers are always super friendly, even when they are super busy. I can sense the pride they take in their food.
