absolutely delicious food- the bahn mi bowl was a scrumptious collaboration of tangy, sweet, and savory (i got it with a beautifully-braised slice of tofu). my parents, who aren't vegetarian but are game to try boston's selection of vegan-y health-food-adjacent sort of places, both really enjoyed their meals. i also got a scrumptious charcoal latte..... obsessed with the ability to drink charcoal.. (i know this isn't specific to nu kitchen but good gravy, what a novel beverage!). the restaurant itself is super spacious and well-decorated. it was clean, comfortable, and well-lit. despite being kind of egregiously close to close, the folks on shift were friendly and we got our food with barely any wait (great service). would recommend, and WILL be going back to work my way through those seasonal lattes.

I've been here twice and the food and people working have been great. However, the second time, I randomly asked for a receipt and noticed a hidden fee. There is a 3% "Admin Charge" secretly added to the order, and the only way this was even known is because I happened to request that receipt.I don't see anywhere that declares a charge (menu, website), and on top of all this, we're paying tax on that charge. This is shady and should be removed. Lack of transparency is not cool; either price things accordingly or declare charges so we can decide if we want to even come here.

While I am grateful they have vegan options, the items were had were not that great. I ordered the pesto vegan chicken panini, and it was ok but not anything I would want to eat again. I didn't like the texture or flavor of the faux chicken. There are a lot of takes of faux chicken, and this felt more like a chickpea patty. It was just strange. My husband had a salad with vegan chicken added, and it was very uninspired, consisting mostly of iceberg lettuce. All in all, the food was fine, but neither of us felt that the price tag matched the quality or taste.

Overall, NU Kitchen offers a wide menu of items that will satisfy a broad range of preferences. We tried the Spanish scramble burrito and bowl, the super fruit waffle, and some drinks. The Spanish scramble burrito was better overall than the Spanish scramble bowl. The avocado refresher smoothie was also very good. Ambiance is also spacious and modern. All together, they offer some solid breakfast and lunch options with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Check them out if you're in the area!

We ordered brunch from NU Kitchen for take-out through GrubHub (love to see healthier options on the platform!), and I wouldn't hesitate to do so again or come in and stay a while, since the space looks really nice.As we were driving to pick up, I got a call from the staff saying they were out of 2 of the items we'd ordered, and they offered alternatives. Kindly, they allowed me to choose a drink at a higher price point with no extra charge. Great service! Pick-up was easy, as I just gave my name at the counter and they had my bag and drinks ready for me.In terms of food, we really enjoyed the Chipotle Avocado & Lime Bowl - it was filling and fresh with no meat in sight! We also liked the short rib torta, which is a breakfast sandwich with egg. Flavorful but a bit too much bread for my taste. For drinks, we got iced matcha and chai lattes with oat milk, and I preferred the chai. And the cinnamon scone was deeelish!Who NU?! NU Kitchen is great!

What can I say about this place.... Well, for starters finding parking! It took three passes in the neighborhood to find a parking space, and once I did the meter was broken... I would say for neighboring locals this is a great place to walk to, but for someone from out of the area or just out of the area who was trying to find parking it's probably not the best. Also, I found once entering the restaurant that it seemed as slightly chaotic, odd. There were approximately tweve people behind the counter but no one personing the front registers to take orders. There was one customer in front of me who was picking up her food, and she was standing at the front counter -- but no one approached me right away. I kind of had to make myself known.I ordered a barbecue tofu and wanted to get a drink but when I saw that the prices starting at $10 -- well, it was a little bit too steep for me (try $5-7, and maybe I'd bite). When I ordered the sandwich they asked if I wanted a salad or chips and of course I wanted to know what was in the salad. The woman behind the counter didn't know so she had to ask someone who had to ask someone. Finally, they managed to figure out it was made with sesame seeds so I couldn't get the salad because it comes premade this way I suppose. If any restaurant wants to educate their employees about healthy food, clean food etc. please note that all seeds, despite their health benefits in nutrients, are inedible by people with either diverticulosis or diverticulitis. So I got chips. All that said, I want to say that the sandwich itself -- the barbecue tofu was absolutely delicious. Save the fact that I did not know that it had mushrooms, which I don't like, it was a delicious bite and I'm sure they're juices are scrummy as well, just not worth $10 to me, bar none. All in all, it was a frustrating experience but I will say that the food lives up to its potential.

This is the type of place I would normally expect to have bland, but healthy food. I was downright surprised by how delicious my order was. I'm super happy to have found this place and see myself ordering from here a lot.

I have been here a few times in the past few years and it seems like it's downgraded every time I go back. I got a the honey goat avocado sandwich and it wasn't the best , not thing really special..pretty bland actually. I really like their cold pressed juices though. The service is fine, the girl at the front was pretty rude when I came in when I asked I had a order to pick up. The location is a bit odd too.Overall I think they can rebrand and revamp their business, it definitely has potential.

This place is great, especially if you're gluten free and/or dairy free! We ordered three additional eggs and there was a mix up and we only got two. They sent out one on the house. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be back!

Menu is full of healthy, yet tasty options! NU Kitchen has a bunch of fresh smoothies, coffees, sandwiches, bowls and salads. But my favorite thing to get is the Acai bowl! Acai bowls here are legit and so good! I love how NU Kitchen is loaded with toppings so there is almost 1:1 ratio of topping to acai which never happens! I've tried the Oahu and Maui; both were good but I prefer the Oahu more. The cocoa nibs are bomb and plentiful. The acai is also creamy from the oat milk! Short rib torta was delicious. The short rib is super tender with great flavor, crunch from the light crunch of the bread, and slight heat from the peppers. The egg and avocado are a nice extra touch that goes together so well.Short Rib banh mi was an interesting take on banh mi, but quite pricey for the size and compared to a traditional banh mi. Prefer the torta more.
