It is a fun family friendly restaurant. It looks like an old school diner. Our waiter was nice and checked in on us.The burger was good but if you like meat order at least a double. The single was small but tasty. The large fry is enough to share. The shakes are AMAZING they are a must have if you eat here. Also the selection of fountain soda was also very impressive.

I walked in and had to walk right back out.It was loud as in a cacophony. Screaming young children.Bad acoustics and then...The sat me.At a High Top counter-like thing.I asked, politely, for a non-high top seat and was directed to a communal table.Bad vibes all around.Walked out.Likely won't return. Not for burgers & fries. And - as with all restaurants in 2024 - very pricey.

I thought the food and service was excellent. I did think my burger was kind of small, but other than that, everything else was wonderful. Definitely not the place to visit if you are watching your calories! Still a cool place to have lunch, especially if you are bringing kids.

We visited the new Newtown Square location recently and we very impressed by the layout, atmosphere, service and food quality. The food came out quickly and accurately to our liking. We ordered a few burgers, Buffalo chicken fingers, and spicy cheese fries! The options for the soda fountain seemed endless! As did the milkshakes! Will be definitely coming here again!

Best milk shakes I have ever tried. Gives you a large amount for less than $10. The service is friendly and fast. The restaurant is heavily decorated and has many pictures with Philly sports. The classic dinner theme also puts the cherry on top.

I've been going to Nifty Fifty's since the 80's. I think their food can't be beat. I was thrilled when they opened this location, since it is much closer than Ridley for me. Unfortunately, the service at this location is consistently horrible. Today was the worst experience yet, and I don't know if we'll be back. Our server never offered refills on drinks. My mother's sandwich, which was supposed to be cooked medium, was bloody. I had to bring it to the counter myself to ask for it to be cooked, because our server disappeared. Twenty minutes later, after the rest of us had long since finished eating, the remade sandwich finally arrived. We said forget it, we're done. They should have comped it and wrapped it to go, but no offer was made. So we left without a member of our party having a meal. No one seemed to care at all. One star for the food that we did get.

Strange stepping foot in here. Growing up in Newtown Square this was my goto McDonald's for 30 years. I had my first chicken McNugget at this location. When it shut down, this lot was vacant for years and we waited and waited for something to open here. I'm happy and sad that it is a Nifty Fifty's. Happy because of how good the burgers are and how convenient it is. And sad for the same reasons. I'm gonna be fat. They opened this week and the crowds have been crazy. Many people have been waiting for this opening and many of them have been showing up! I went at 830 and it was packed, they said it was still the dinner rush. It started to thin out around 9, but there was still a steady flow of people headed in. I picked up 2 burgers, fries, and a shake. Took about 20 minutes to get it, but I was expecting a wait given how crowded it was. The service was great, especially with the crowd. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Lexi and Keira were working the to go orders and had smiles for everyone. Big plus when it's so busy and people are hungry and waiting, a friendly face goes a long way. The ambience is very cool. Black and white checkers, loads of neon, and paper hats. Definitely a throwback to the Fifties. They have plenty of seating inside, including a small bar area, and a few tables outside which is where I ate my to go order. My food did not disappoint. The burgers were great, small, but bigger than a slider. I'm thinking they may use Velveeta. I didn't ask if they have other cheese options but was happy with the standard. I'd have gotten a third burger if it wasn't 9:00. The fries seem like fresh cut and were good but needed some salt IMO. The shake...chocolate. At first it had an off taste to me but it grew on me as I drank it. They are served in odd metallic looking cups, but they work well at keeping the shake cool. All in all it was a fantastic experience despite the crowd and well worth the wait. Looking forward to going back when it is less crowded. It that may be a while! Welcome to the Square, we are happy to have you!

It's been ages since we went to the Nifty Fifty's location in Ridley. I noticed that the McDonald's in Newtown Square was recently converted to Nifty Fifty's. We tried it for lunch today. Maddy was our server. She was friendly and helpful. They have an incredible amount of milkshake options. My husband chose the black and white. He was happy. We split a cheesesteak which was delicious and a good roll. We also had the fries and a basket of onion rings. There's plenty of parking available. It was clean and cheerfully decorated. We'll definitely be back.

We placed an order on Door Dash and the burger bun was moldy. We called the restaurant, spoke with management and they were unapologetic. I just can't get over that you can serve someone a moldy entree and not make an effort to rectify the situation. Needless to say we will no longer eat at Nifty Fifty's.
