Yall...If you want a really good fish sandwich, THIS IS WHERE YOU GO!!!My bestfriend was on the phone with me and he was ordering one. When we got off the phone, he sent me a pic of his Basa sandwich and my mouth instantly watered!!!So, I decided to go myself. They have their own parking lot, it's actually inside a store.. so don't be alarmed you see like a corner store. Park inside their parking lot. You also can order ahead, I am just now learning. But the wait was not long, I ordered when I got there. I ordered a Catfish sandwich with mayo, cheese, onions, lettuce, jalapeños... it's so fulfilling you will only eat half I'm sure, however I warned my other half up later and I only ate once that day!!!Your sandwich also comes with regular fries or onion fries. Please, go there now!!! They also have bbq and it's FIRE as well, I tried it a few years ago. Oh yes, and their prices are REASONABLE!!! * a win for sure, check them out

This spot is in a location I pass by all the time on my way to I-80. It's not the kind of place I'd usually think to stop and dine, especially since it's inside a store--kind of like a liquor store or marketplace. But I love BBQ, and their big sign with pictures of their dishes caught my eye, plus the reviews looked solid, so I decided to give it a try.When you walk in, you're basically walking into a store, and you place your food order at the same counter where people buy their groceries. There's a small pickup window by the entrance for your food. The setup is pretty casual, so expect some foot traffic and a bit of crowding, especially near the door. There's no real waiting area, so I just stood by the window or waited in my car.I ordered the catfish and fries, along with some fried chicken. I didn't get any BBQ this time, so I can't speak to that. The fried chicken was already prepared--it wasn't fried fresh to order. It was decent, but not the kind of chicken that would make me rush back for more. The catfish was flavorful, a little greasy, but that's typical for soul food. It wasn't too salty, so that was a plus.I can't say this is a place I'd add to my regular rotation based on the fried chicken and catfish, but I might stop by again to try the BBQ since the reviews are so good. Overall, it's not a bad option if you're in the area and want to give it a go.

Not what it once was before Champion Smokehouse! Prior, their links were good. Now they taste like a Hillshire Beef Smoked Sausage. To fatty for me no doubt. Back to Carmen's in Hayward, in which I never left. Hard to find a decent BBQ joint in the Bay right? I don't mind actually taking a drive to Pacifica for Gorilla BBQ. The food was okay, but they give you a lot of it. Also the neighborhood and ambiance Deep East Oakland. So be-careful where you step and how you move for safety purposes. If you haven't had this place then go and see for yourself but it's a good chance it will your last time

My buddy and I were starving after running errands all day. Since we had to stop by the Oakland Zoo, he suggested we stop at Champion for some BBQ. I had never been to this area even though it's blocks away from the Oakland Airport. I ended up ordering the tri tip and ribs combo and it came with two sides so I got the macaroni salad and potato salad. The sauce is what makes this BBQ stand out! The tri tip was amazing! Soft and easy to eat and oh so flavorful, I would definitely order this again. The ribs were a bit drier than I would have liked but still flavorful due to the BBQ sauce. They have their own private parking lot and food came out quickly but like most places, be aware of your surroundings and take any valuables with you. They are also a market so pick up drinks before you leave! There wasn't any seating as far as I could tell.
