Vons Chicken - Fremont

I order from this place every 2 weeks like clock work. My favorite is the cheddar wings. When you order online they are soooo darn quick. Like 5 to 10 mins from place of order and they are done and still hot as when you leave.I really wish they drown the chicken in that cheddar powder like it was caked on. Will someone tell me what goes into that addictive powder?

5010 Mowry Ave Fremont, CA 94538This was my first time at Vons Chicken in Fremont! I was there 30 mins before closing. They said I could only order takeout, as they were preparing to close. Okay, no problem! I ordered: Half Order of Real Garlic Crispy Fried Chicken, Mix Wings and Drums. Price $15.99. They said it would be ready in 10-mins. When I got my chicken, it was hot and fresh from the fryer. OMG, there's nothing like fresh and hot fried chicken! Super crispy and crunchy....so good! The wings and drums were meaty. I forgot to count how many I had in the order. The one negative thing was the garlic sauce flavor. It was very mild, and a bit of a let down. I was expecting a spicy garlicky bite, but it was very mild. I wonder if I had a choice between mild and spicy garlic sauce. They didn't ask when they took my order. Service was friendly and polite. The restaurant has a small dining room and an outside patio with umbrellas for shade. Vons Chicken is in the Lucky's shopping center, a few doors away from Starbucks and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt. Lots of free parking.

I wanted to like this location but was actually disappointed in my order for legs and wings half order. there were like 5 legs sitting at the bottom of the box and let me tell you they tasted stale and over cooked, the wings were like two but tasted fresh. My salad was good but the overall taste was overly sweet, I'll pass on this location - mainly for not fulfilling what I ordered- More wings not dried drums

This place holds a special place in my heart because it was where I had my second date with my boyfriend. We ordered the Crispy Fried Chicken with Honey Butter and the Crispy Fried Chicken with Cheddar. The Honey Butter version had a delightful buttery powder sprinkled on top, which made the dish absolutely delicious! It was like a perfect blend of fried chicken and karage, a combination that's quite rare. The chicken was juicy and not at all dry, and the sprinkled powder added an extra burst of flavor.The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and well-lit. Although we dined there for dinner, the bright ambiance made it feel like lunch, which might suggest they have nothing to hide--just great chicken! The service was quick, and we received our food in no time. The chicken was so good that we finished it quickly and were in and out in less than 30 minutes, even though we were taking our time.The restaurant is located in a convenient complex with plenty of parking available. I look forward to returning soon!

Best fried chicken in the Bay Area, hands down! Delicious!! it doesn't even need sauce, but the spicy sauce on the side is incredibly good.

Aside from being expensive, the taste is good. It takes a while to get your orders. The place is dim and quiet at night.

Wow. This was a very disappointing experience. We had come here at the beginning of the month and ordered Fried Chicken and Onion Rings. Everything was great!Today, we were heading home from Morgan Hill. Traffic was less than ideal and I wanted a short respite from the craziness. I got off at Mowry and headed to Von's for some Onion Rings. The order taker was the same efficient one that I saw last visit. I told him that I just wanted one order of Onion Rings. He asked if it was to-go. Yes, it was. When I pulled out my wallet, he asked if I had cash, which I did. There was a sign on the cash register that said that there was a minimum charge of $15 before credit cards were accepted. (That is a violation of most, if not all, credit card processing contracts. There is not supposed to be any minimum). He told me it would be about six minutes. I didn't time it, but it seemed like it took more than six minutes. When my order was ready, he handed it to me and thanked me for my business. I took it out to my car, opened the bag and pulled out the box to take a picture. The top flaps of the box were taped together. Once I pulled apart the flaps, I could see that the Onion rings were quite dark. Upon tasting them, they were burnt. The batter was extra crispy, and I couldn't taste the onions at all. If the recipe calls for frying the Rings in 375-degree oil for 3 to 4 minutes, I'm guessing these were fried 5 to 6 minutes. Oil temperature was probably not the problem. The Rings were not greasy nor were they stuck together. That also indicates that dropping the Rings did not overly cool the oil. I think that either the wrong timer was used or was forgotten all together. The restaurant did not appear to be busy. There was one table of four seated and eating and one other customer waiting for her order. There were no other customers that came in after me. My first three jobs were in restaurants. Human beings make mistakes. Compounding the mistake by serving the mistake is inexcusable. The order should have been restarted. If the cook didn't recognize the Rings were burnt, additional training is called for. I'll remember this the next time I crave Onion Rings. They probably won't be coming from Von's.

This was my first time trying Vons chicken and wow! My friends had been there before so they knew what to get. The honey butter is arguably the best flavor! There isn't much seating inside so we got our chicken to go. We had ordered online and our order was ready quickly. We got the half order of the honey butter fried chicken. Even though we got it to go, the chicken was still super crispy. It was sweet and savory from the honey butter seasoning. They also gave a few containers of pickled radish and rice. This was one of the best pickled radishes I've ever had. Definitely will come back here!

Tried a half order of Crunch Fried Chicken and a half order of Garlic Chicken, to go. We opted for a combination of wings and drumsticks (both drumettes and full size drumsticks are included). The two half orders were enough to feed 3 of us. The chicken was moist and plump on the inside, and nice and crunchy on the outside. After eating the very flavorful garlic chicken, the crunch chicken seemed a tad bland, so if you get an assortment I recommend eating the crunch chicken first. We took our food to go, so did not experience the dining room, which looked small but tidy. This is a great version of Korean fried chicken in Fremont.

I've been coming to this place for years and it's always been a top tier place to come eat at whenever I'm craving some good Korean fried chicken! When I heard that they're releasing a chicken sandwich, I knew that I had to try and see how good it would be.I came here on a Wednesday afternoon and got seated immediately. Right away, I noticed the menu posted with their new items. I decided on the crispy chicken sandwich combo #3, choosing the spicy soy garlic as my flavor. The sandwich was SO good! The chicken itself was piping hot and I had to take a few seconds to cool off my next bite, so be a little careful! The bun itself was buttery and crispy and soft all at the same time, giving each bite an extra crunch along with the chicken. They add coleslaw and the radish paper which I think perfectly balances out the saltiness of the meat itself. The fries were also piping hot and they were also well-done with the crispiness. By the end of my lunch, I was extremely full and definitely doubted how filling it would be! The combo deals they offer are 100% worth it and I'm definitely coming back again for another sandwich.
