Cute bar with friendly bartenders and a great happy hour! My friend and I had the ten dollar margaritas, the sangrita, ghost fries and wings. Margaritas and sangrita were on point, wings were crispy and spicy, and the seasoning on those ghost fries was fire.

tipsea has a cute menu and a nautical theme with good cocktails. that being said, after several visits i can say that i feel completely unwelcome. the bartenders always seem irritated and have been extremely unprofessional the handful of times i've visited. nasty vibes. you'll pay $15-17 for a cocktail on their menu, but i suppose that's typical for the area. got a $5 tequila shot on tuesday which was nice. not a whole lot of room for parties larger than 4. they've got some booths and a bar, but it's pretty narrow. the bathroom is at least nice. also, girl. if you're going to hit ur geek bar behind the bar can you at least act like you don't hate me? goddamn.

This place is amazing. A must visit for cocktail and small plate lovers!However, negatives:1. Door would stick open just enough to let in a cold draft. Gotta fix that to seal off the chill, please.2. Service was weird. We were ready to order a 2nd round, but our bartender was looking at her phone for a good 5 minutes, and then was talking to the hostess/waitress. We could not get either of their attention for a long time.3. The cocktail "Under the Tidepools" includes Baijiu, which tastes very strange. Just a heads up unless you are used to sorghum liquor.Positives:a) Chicken wings are deep fried and crispy. Quite excellent. I had the Lemon Pepper, but I'd imagine all flavors are good.b) Tuna tartare was also delicious.c) Highly recommend the "Song of the Sea" cocktail.Will be back to try everything else!

sensational bar located in Berkeley near the UC Berkeley campus. It was my first time, I was immediately greeted by all the staff and they were really friendly. The menu and theme are both unique offering creative drink options and food choices. I'll for sure be back to try some eats but everything I ordered to drink was extremely smooth, alcohol nondetectable lol. I had some lemon drop shots on the house thanks to my amazing waitress and I had a tequila cocktail with a perfect tart base. My friend had a vodka drink which was not even bitter and I still felt tipsea enough. Adore this bar in Berkeley!

Tipsea on a late nite stop was the spot. They had late night food, good food too not just some mediocre ocean board & green flash was delish. the jams was hittin'. We had a signature ocean margarita-ish drink. Sam, Felix and Chloe made us ladies feel comfortable and the drinks kept coming on time, which always makes the night better. We will def be back and I hope there all here! TiPsea remember that for late nite food, drinks, vibes, paired with music. Make sure to bring your ID, they have security to check, Jamari was so cool tho. Parking is in abundance and free after 6pm.

A Berkeley student-type joint where things could work better but do not. In my visit there were like 5 people working but some seemed quite new and uninformed. Hey you gotta start somewhere. The ambiance is kind of "was really nice now a little run down" many lights either not working or not turned on, there's a halfhearted attempt at nautical decor to go with the name, but I don't feel they pulled it off. Lots of bottles on the shelf but no menu listing what they have. At $15 each, drinks were expensive, even when I got a cocktail made with the well bourbon. They have "Industry Specials" not only on Monday which is typical, but 4 days a week. Probably some good bargains there. I'm glad they were open on a Monday, lots of places on Shattuck are not. But if I had a choice of Tipsea or another option I'd look into the alternative.

I came here with a friend and didn't realize that Berkeley can be popping at night. This is one of the few bars in the area where you can bar hop between and the vibes here are great. I love the ambiance inside it makes a great place for a casual cute date or fun night with friends. They also offer some bites too. Service is good it does get crowded later in the night. Drinks have bread themes and names. Prices are reasonable and size is perfect. Loved my experience here.

If we weren't treated to 4 full baskets of free wings for $1 Wing Wednesday (because our waiter submitted our ordered wrong) I'd give it a 3 star because of the slow and non attentive service. The wings were great flavor but mildly dry. The drinks were . Great price as well.

Tipsea has become a regular spot for me. I love the vibes of this place and the drinks are amazing. Sam, Chloe and Felix are always here holding it down and taking care of everything. Come in and ask for one of them, they will make sure you have an excellent night every time.

The place is great, drink and food are very tasty and beautiful. But the customer service is so bad I have been there twice. on February twenty eighth me and my husband stopped by to get a drink and something to eat we sat down at the bar and the bartender didn't put attention to us and her attitude it was very rude.
