This place was on my wife's list to try for a couple years. Boy, we were missing out. Tin & Pig is great! The Korean fried chicken is super good and addicting. My 6 year old also really loves the kimchi fried rice. The soups are good too. We haven't gone wrong with anything on the menu so far. It's also got a pretty good set up, with private booths along the walls, and art to hang your soju cap on. That's great for a family or a date where you want some privacy. We have tried a lot of Korean food in Oakland, to try and replicate that LA Koreatown quality. Tin & Pig is one of the best out there.

A great place to share tasty Korean food and soju with friends! Don't judge it by its outside appearance- once you're inside there is plenty of private booth seating. We walked in with a group of 8, and they had a booth that could fit all of us. We were seated right away around 5:45 on a Wednesday, which also happened to be New Year's Day. We ordered lots of food and soju to share. Here's how I would rank them:-Corn Cheese (5/5) simple yet perfect.-Spicy Rice Cakes (4.5/5) excellent, though next time I would like to try it with cheese. -Seafood pancake (4.5/5) also excellent, ask for more sauce as it's a large pancake with only a small amount of sauce on the side. -Bulgogi (4.5/5) this disappeared quickly and I wish we ordered more! It was very good but not the best that I've had. -Glass noodles with beef (4.5/5) Delicious! -Kimchi fried rice w/ fried egg (4/5) went great with the bulgogi. -Fried Dumplings (3.5/5) fine, I didn't feel the urge to try more than one. -Fried Chicken (3.5/5) - I wish we had gotten one of the flavored chickens, this was plain but the chicken itself was juicy. It just needs a sauce.I also loved the Yogurt soju! I like to mix it with sprite. Only docking 1 star because it's a little pricey and I would not feel safe parking my car out front or nearby, nor would I walk here by myself. Definitely worth the visit though and a great place to hang out- so maybe just take an uber or Lyft here!

So the area isn't the best, it's pretty sketchy but it's across from the Highway patrol office. However once inside it's pretty laid back, although it's pretty dark in there. They sat us and brought the menu pretty quickly. The food came out pretty quick, i enjoyed the food. I would recommend the fried chicken, kimchi fried rice, and the scallion pancakes. I would definitely go back again. Should definitely give it a try.

First timer, and was impressed. The sweet and spicy chicken wings were delicious, as was the grilled chicken gizzards. The tofu soup with meat was really good, as was the kimchi pancake. A bit of a dark, grungy place, but I thought it was really cool. And service was great. Will definitely need to come back and try some of the plates.

My favorite favorite comfort / late night food has to be Korean food! It hits even more different after coming straight from a Kpop concert that ended super late. We came around 11pm and left shortly after midnight. The staff was super nice and didn't immediately kick us out when the clock struck 12, he allowed us to take our time with finishing our meal which I really appreciated. The STAR of the show here was the Military Stew. SO yummy, hot, fresh, and it hit the spot after being freezing cold at an outdoor concert with a sore throat. 10/10 freakin recommend!!!!! I also liked their chicken as well. The soy was my favorite between the two (we got the half/half plain and soy garlic). Overall, I would return back to this pocha again for a late night fix. I also love the vibes and set up of this place, it really feels like I transported to a pocha in Korea with the way the booths are setup!!! Great vibes :)

First timer, Tin & Pig is def serving up some authentic Korean food. The ambiance was great the meals are extremely hearty but also pretty pricy which is why I took a star away - not saying it's not worth it but it could be a tab then again what's not now a day's. I'm a huge fan of Kimchi Stew this one had pork in it, very rich & comforting on a rainy night served with a side of rice. Def enjoyed it. Got the sweet & spicy wings & the plain wing's I wanted the sauce on the side but it's $3 to have the sauce on the side which kinda confused me? Regardless packed with flavor and fried to perfection. The bulgogi w/rice & egg which is semi pictured could honestly be skipped on. It was good but it didn't stand out to me. Def wanna try hot pot going back.Over all the customer service was great, the gentleman who served us was very personable & he checked in but also gave enough space for us to have a conversation. Hopefully you guys enjoy this place & try it out :)

Whoa! This place is the spot for some delicious korean food!Be warned, the neighborhood is really sketch. Felt like my window was going to get broken in just to dine here, but it mightve been worth it.Once you step inside its a completely different atmosphere. You get individual booths to sit in. Very much like a speakeasy for korean food.We got the usual banchans, rice cakes (cant go wrong), korean fried chicken and some cut up pork dish. All of which were delicious and enjoyable. The pork was my first time trying such a dish. Not sure how to descibe it other than it was paired with other garnishes in the dish and very enjoyable to eat. I recommend getting it for the table. Now parking. Yea, we didn't have issues finding a spot though the parking situation is kinda sketch here.Overall, its a delicious place that would I love to go back again if I could volunteer a friend to drive!

Had a solid experience at this late-night Korean spot. Despite the sketchy exterior, it's a legit joint once you step inside. The vibe is casual with kpop and millennials and mostly a younger crowd. Loved the semi-private booths for a bit of privacy. Decent offering of classic Korean dishes.Opted for Bulgogi and Kimchi with pork soup, served alongside rice and Ban Chan. The Ban Chan included Mac salad and potatoes, which are yummy and not as common. The Kimchi was on the milder side and tasty. Not everything hit the mark -- the Kimchi and pork soup were somewhat bland, and the Bulgogi was average, almost supermarket quality if I'm honest. The rice was also on the watery side. It could be an off night, but just being honest. Kudos to the friendly, attentive staff (two guys that night), who were on top of things despite some of the food letdown.Still had overall a solid experience, and I would consider returning for the wings and spicy tofu soup -- hoping for a tastier experience. Late-night Korean cravings? Give it a shot when you're hungry and seeking a laid-back dining spot.

Called in for takeout late on a Saturday night. It was 11:30 PM. Surprisingly, the restaurant was completely empty. I thought there would be more people hanging out here! Not too familiar with Oakland, but maybe it was a location issue? Anyways, we called and had an estimate of 25 minutes, but our food was ready in 15 minutes. Going inside, paying and checking out was easy.We specifically wanted bossam. We also got the tteokbokki. Service was quick and friendly. At home, when we started to eat, we wish the bossam had more cabbage than the portion of steamed napa cabbage they gave us. The sauce flavors were good though and they gave us some banchan. The tteokbokki was tasty. We were also able to takeout some makgeolli since the H-Marts and other Asian grocers were closed at this time. All in all it got our bossam fix taken care of.

Overpriced and Porno Palance (Dan Sung Sa) is way better. Service was rock bottom terrible and they don't even have a button to press for attention. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough for me to want to come back. Cool name of a Korean restaurant but if you want some damn good Korean fried chicken, especially after drinking, I recommend elsewhere.
