Happened upon this place looking on Open Table for somewhere different for brunch. Based on the name it totally wasn't what I was expecting but wow it was delicious! The village pub is small little place that packs a punch! We started with the cinnamon rolls which, passionfruit was an unexpected flavor choice for frosting but it all went together so nicely. For the first course I had the crepe and my mom had the tuna. Both were good. The tuna was delicious and the sauce on it paired very nicely. We both loved the crunchy bits, too. The crepe was cooked to perfection and the filling wasn't too overpowering. For the second course I had the soft scrambled eggs and my mom had the butternut squash. I know scrambled eggs may seem like a silly choice for a pre fixe menu but I love a good, soft scrambled egg. These were no exception! The caviar was a perfect touch and the brioche was toasted perfectly. The squash was like au gratin potatoes but somehow even better! And the mushrooms were divine. For dessert my mom had the cheese and I had the soufflé. Both of these had an additional charge but it was well worth it! The soufflé was cooked perfectly and the selection of cheeses was so nicely balanced. I definitely will be returning to this little secret spot in the hills, for brunch, lunch, dinner, or maybe all 3!

This is a Michelin one-star restaurant situated in Woodside, CA. I had long been eager to visit this establishment but had not yet had the opportunity until now. I chose to bring a friend here to celebrate her birthday, and both of us were thoroughly satisfied with the experience. I have dined at several Michelin one-star restaurants in the past, but some have not lived up to the distinction. However, this establishment truly warrants its one-star rating. This establishment offers a prix-fixe menu, allowing guests to select three dishes--an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. The experience begins at $130 per person, which is quite reasonable, and guests may opt for additional supplements or à la carte choices. Caviar is available for an additional cost for those with an interest in it. There were also several specials offered during the first course, available for an extra charge. My friend chose the 3-grams truffle pasta (which was plenty), while I selected the Dungeness crab risotto (supplement $20). Both dishes were exceptional, particularly the truffle tagliarini pasta, which I would gladly return for, hoping that it remains on the menu. The truffle was offered in two preparations and in 3-gram (supp $15) or 5-gram portions (supp $25). The truffles were freshly shaved directly onto our dishes, enhancing the experience. My companion thoroughly enjoyed the truffle and even received an amusing comment from the server shaving it, who said, "I'll just keep shaving," which gave us all a good laugh. The duck was flavorful, though it was a bit tougher than I would have preferred. The ribeye (supp $25), on the other hand, was delicious, and the portion sizes were quite generous. The chocolate soufflé (supp $5) was a delightful finish to the meal, and the Parker House rolls were exceptionally soft and light. The service was attentive, and all dishes arrived promptly. The restaurant's ambiance was more modern and elegant than anticipated. Although there appear to be few updated images of the interior, I would certainly dress more formally for my next visit. We had expected a more casual, pub-like bar area, but instead, we were pleasantly surprised by the romantic, beautifully lit space, which is ideal for fine dining. The restaurant's entrance is located at the back of the building, which may be confusing, as Google Maps directs you to a different side. However, there is a sign indicating the correct entrance. Parking is plentiful, even on a busy Sunday evening when I arrived for a 7:30 p.m. reservation. There is a 5% mandatory charge, but overall, I would gladly return and highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful experience; we look forward to returning in the future!

A really nice spot! We dined outside, and the overall meal and experience were great. We each got separate dishes and most everything was pretty spot on. Portion sizes weren't crazy large and the price isn't cheap, but the service was on point and attentive without appearing too stuffy. The only minor feedback I have would be that like most fine dining establishments, the desserts were the weakest point of the meal. Fairly uncreative and overly sweet. Otherwise, a really nice mean end-to-end. Note that they have a service fee (which is pure nonsense), so as a personal rule I cannot give them 5 stars, but a great spot for a date or special occasion.

This is not a review of the village pub's food and drinks. those are all very good during my previous visits! Since the out-of-power incident last year ... lots of eaters read my reviews. I am also extremely disappointed how they only respond to good reviews and they just ignore the bad ones put their head under the sand and pretend nothing happened... it's like some driver cut you off and they know they do wrong ... they just don't make any eye contact with you. this is a very interesting way to do business. hopefully one day we will see them respond to the bad reviews.

The food was delicious and the service was on point. Attended with my family for the New Year's day brunch. I appreciate it was that the restaurant was fully staffed. Each staff person was friendly and welcoming. Because it was a prix fixe menu, the orders were taken promptly and the food arrived just as quickly - and with a great flow. It was the small details that set the food apart - home made English muffins, hasbrowns crisped to perfection, cinnamon rolls with a passion fruit glaze...I could just keep going. If you like passionfruit, get anything on the menu with passionfruit. Their passionfruit sauce, and passionfruit sorbet did not disappoint. The FENNEL AND CORIANDER TUNAPICKLED ROOT VEGETABLES / POMMES SOUFFLÉ / TONNATO SAUCE was - oh my gawsh - good. It was the attention, energy and little flavor twists that went into making each plate quite delectable. In terms of ambiance, the space is definitely giving old pub vibes but revamped into a fine dining place. Lots of red velvet and wood beams. The three star rating was because one of our guests received a cold steak (the restaurant handled that well). Also because the music was all bad - the song New York, New York played about four times while we dined and the playlist included sounds of trumpets... the issue with this was it was just turned up way too loud with the speakers above us. Our entire table was feeling irritated by the loudness and sharpness of the music. If they could get these two things right it would be 4.5 stars.

The village pub is a Michelin star restaurant far away from the hustle. The place is clean and classy but slightly dated in appearance. The service is fantastic. The staff is very attentive without being overbearing or creepy. They know their menu and they expertly describe each dish as it arrives. It's informative but slightly robotic. The food is really excellent across the board. Great presentation and food quality. The bread is served hot with butter and sea salt. It's really good and they will keep bringing more if you want. The fennel tuna was delicious. The tuna was well seared and seasoned and the vegetables were fresh and flavorful. The crab risotto was ok. It was a bit soupy, contained only two tiny pieces of crab and costs an extra $20. The ribeye was excellent. It was perfectly seasoned and prepared. The potatoes, vegetables and sauces really complement the meat. The apple tart was good, but the caramel sauce was a bit sweet and overpowering. The beignets were great with perfect vanilla and chocolate dipping sauce. Birthday cake was delicious with a strong lemon flavor.Overall it's $130/pp plus additional costs for drinks or menu upgrades. It's definitely worth it for special occasions like my birthday.

Hands down, the best Michelin restaurant in the peninsula. We had a reservation for a Sunday night, at 5pm. We were probably the third party to be seated so not bad. It quickly filled up throughout the night, but it wasn't overly packed. I really liked our table, as we sat right in front of the mini kitchen window, w/ a glimpse of one of the chefs grilling the meat every now and then. Service was phenomenal: so many good things to say about our waitress. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, patience, respectful - the list can go on and on. Food is exceptional: from appetizer, to entrees, to dessert. Everything was on point. The only thing I would request next time is a little less salt on our food. They went a little extra on our appetizer/entrees so I was extremely thirsty with every bite I took. Nonetheless, the presentation and the actual dish were spectacular. My absolute favorite was the duck breast. I highly, highly recommend that you don't skip out on it. The sear on it was exactly to perfection and the crust. Oh my. You would have to try it to know exactly what I'm talking about. As for the dessert: I was excited to try a chocolate soufflé; however, 1/2 way through I realize that if you're not that much of a fan on chocolate, as much as it sounds appetizing, it's heavy. No way I could've finished it even if I wanted to. There are a couple of other options so we will try out the others next time we're back. Their menu changes but duck will always be on their menu, just w/ minor slight changes. After a weekend in Carmel, I am so glad we ended the night here.

Recently made the trip to the Village Pub for our anniversary dinner.Started out with the welcome canapes. The red one is compressed watermelon with some interesting seasoning added to it. Don't remember what else they were, but they were all quite tasty. The wine, etc. list reminded me of a phone book. At the very end on page 104, they had Oatey McOatface stout, which is what I went with.Their main menu setup consists of picking an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For the app, I went with the citrus cured Kampachi and the wife got the scallop special. Then we got a surprise course sent out from the chef. Black truffle topped pasta. Probably my favorite bite of the meal. For the entree, we went with the lobster and salmon dishes, which were outstanding.Desserts rounded out the meal with panna cotta and a chocolate mousse cake.Service was great and it was a very enjoyable evening of tasty delights.

This spot was highly recommended to me so, of course, we had to try it for our anniversary. We had reservations about a month in advance. It was relatively full for a Wednesday night dinner. There were seldom any open tables while we were there. Parking was pretty easy as they have a small lot right outside in the plaza. Ambiance of the restaurant was dim, cozy and romantic. Perfect for a date or intimate group dinner.Service was a delight. The food was incredible. We had:- bread rolls to start (comes with the meal)- cappes (small bites)- heirloom salad - seared scallop appetizers - duck breast- wagyu rib eye - panna cotta- soufflé - they surprised us with a lemon cake for our anniversary and there was additional bites of desserts to follow with the bill Everything was incredible, especially the scallops. Wow. I don't think there was anything for us to nitpick even if we wanted to. We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend this spot.

Everything would've been a 5 star rating if the server who packed out leftovers let our bread touch the bottom of another plate very unsanitary.
