Update:The AGM personally called me to apologize for the mix up and make things right.They occasionally make mistakes like we all do -- but I'll say their customer service is top notch 100%!! He didn't ask me to update my review and I don't do that unless it's legit.----Yeah I need to revise my review bc they've been messing up a lot lately.When they're on, they're on, but a lot has been wrong lately.I patronize this place at least weekly (usu doordash) and I'm pretty disappointed with several recent orders.* Pizza well done (i.e., burned)* Ordered no ham on a sandwich, so they proceeded to literally put one thin slice of salami on the sandwich * Tonight, handed the wrong order to the doordash driver (there can be more than one person with the same first name as was the case here, so you gotta double check the order itself/order number). I waited 40 min or more to get someone else's deep dish pizza that I can't eat and deal with the hassle of getting a replacement or refund from doordash

We had the dinner for two special. $39 for two. It included a salad, an appetizer and a pizza. VERY generous portions. We had the Greek salad and the burrito on toasted baguette with pesto. For the pizza we had the pizza Bianca. Everything was just right. The portions were so generous that half the pizza, a quarter of the salad and a third of the burrata came home with us. We were so impressed that we bought a $50 gift card to give to a friend. The service was great. Friendly and efficient. Thanks AaronThe ambience is also good. Short story. Placed an online order after calling to make sure I could request all flats for my wings. Placed order w the request of- may I please have all flats?!Receive my order. ZERO flats. Not a single one. If I hadn't made the request, I would have gotten at least half and half!!Seems like the kitchen thought it would be funny do not accommodate the request which normally would be totally fine. But I mean... come on. Anyways. Super annoying. And sub par for an upscale pizza joint. I imagine it's just a bunch of kids in the kitchen, that's the only way this would make sense. Also!! This is like the 3rd time delivery from here has made my blood boil thinking about the amount of money I've spent. Lame. Do better.

We had a really nice lunch a good vegetarian pizza and the salad was delicious. I highly recommend stopping by- the pizza was with us in about 10 minutes from the order so I call that really fast, our waiter was courteous and made soE good suggestions. I like the interior. It's very well decorated and we sat at a high tip which is great for me to get up and out - I have trouble sometimes- I will be back. The serving size was just right for two- with the salad and the medium pizza - we took some home for dinner the next day-

No wonder businesses are closing, the customer service is non-existent.I've been coming to Star since day 1. As a matter of fact The Star on Solano was the first restaurant to partner with me for my Grub Crawl. One of my good friends use to manage here. The food has always been consistent which is why we continue to support them. However I just sat for about 8 minutes with nary a greeting while I believe the manager took a call. Not 1 person bothered to say anything. Then after his call he came to tell me I could order my togo at the counter. Didn't bother to see if maybe I was getting something to drink while I waited just spun off. Meanwhile someone else came in and he was all courteous, greeted and checked in on him. I only know this because the guy is sitting next to me. As a chef and business owner I understand why we have repeat clientele, because we take 5 minutes to engage our clients rather than assume they have to spend their money with me. They don't, and I don't either. The Star on Grand has gone through a few facelifts as their business isn't the same as it use to be. Be mindful when folks patronize your business. I love the quality of the pizzas and salads here; it's a large space with plenty of seating and a great ambiance.I'm particularly fond of the lunch specials. It's a steal!Parking can be rough. While there's a small parking lot next to the restaurant, it seems to be reserved for employees.

We ordered a 12-inch Deep All Star last night and it was delicious!While $37 is not cheap for one pizza, they did not skimp on the toppings. There was plenty of sausage, meatballs, pepperoni, bacon, tomato sauce, and provolone cheese. It was very hearty and will last us at least one more meal. The small Greek Salad was also more than plenty for 2 people. Sadly, no pictures. The camera did not eat first this time, but we did.

Ordered a pizza for delivery last night. I noticed that something did not taste right. The crust tasted like cardboard. Later in the middle of the night I got sick. I am very suspicious that the pizza I received was old, or reheated from some one else's order that did not pick up, or other situation where my pizza was not made with fresh ingredients. I need to order from a place with better quality control for their food. Last night was very unpleasant and a was a waste of $25 plus delivery fees. Will not be ordering from Star again.

Came here for happy hour Venue is clean Nicely decorated Nice ambiance Full bar Happy hour is form 4-6 M-FOur bartender was great She was friendly and made amazing drinks Pizza is very good, ingredients are fresh Meatballs are super tasty Prices are reasonable There are several TVs No sound playing on the Tv This is a nice restaurant Food is good Drinks are good I would definitely come back Street parking only Parking at your own risk It's Oakland !!!!

Great pizza! I ordered spinach and feta on Focaccia bread. Delicious. The wait staff and manager were friendly. It had been awhile since my last visit, however, when I did return, the pizza was memorable -- in a very good way.
