Cute little Korean restaurant. Space is tight so large groups are harder to accommodate but the food is SO GOOD. This is my go to for non-all you can eat Korean restaurant in the area. The service is amazing, personable and super quick. Highly recommend their seafood pancake and bulgogi. Tofu soup, is my fav though!

This place is very popular. We came here on a weekend night and it was packed. There were waits of about 5-10 minutes for people who came after us, but overall, the wait was not too bad. We've been here a couple of times and each time the food is pretty good and it's a no frills and also very cozy. We ordered the beef short ribs, bibimbap with bulgogi, kimchi tofu soup, and sides. Overall the food is pretty standards Korean fare, and there are plenty of complimentary sides to choose from, which is nice. They don't offer to refill your sides or anything though. But the dishes have good flavor overall. The place is very small and a little hard to get around. The bathroom and the floors a bit sticky, which means they could use some mopping. There is a spacious parking lot out front as well. The staff there are not super friendly, but they will help get you what you need if you need anything. They charge $0.75 for to-go boxes, which we found it interesting because we didn't see signs about that.

My stomach hurts so bad right now after eating here and I know why. I asked them if they can make some dishes vegan like the mushroom tofu soup and the japchae, they said yes. When they brought the small appetizer dishes over I again reminded them that I don't eat fish, meat, etc and they took away the kimchi. Well, after looking up online what the strips of tofu were, they were actually strips of fish! Fish cakes! The server left that on the table after I told her three times that I don't eat fish, meat, eggs, and so on. Well I ate a few thinking they were tofu. My stomach is killing me! That's what I get for wanting some tofu soup after a rough day and trying this Korean place. Not vegan nor vegetarian friendly! They don't know what that is!! Now excuse me while I end this review now to go VOMIT!

The sister house is a comfortable Korean spot in the east bay. The place is small but service is friendly and quick. We always get the seafood pancake which is flavorful and crispy. I get the spicy gom tang which is very filling and flavorful as well. Decent kick and warms the soul. Cannot go wrong with any of the food you get.

I had the pleasure of dining at The Sister House in Hayward, and I have to say, it exceeded all my expectations! I went with the tofu soup, galbi tang, and seafood pancake, and each dish was an absolute winner. The tofu soup was incredibly flavorful--perfectly spicy with a rich broth that warmed me up immediately. The tofu was soft and silky, and it soaked up the flavors wonderfully. The galbi tang was another highlight. The beef short ribs were tender and juicy, with just the right amount of seasoning in the broth. It was comforting, hearty, and the portion was generous. The seafood pancake was crispy on the outside, soft and packed with a good amount of seafood inside. It had the perfect balance of texture and flavor and was the perfect accompaniment to the soups. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend for anyone in the area craving authentic Korean comfort food! Will be coming back for sure!

Caveat: 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 Hole in the wall restaurant in an outdoor mildly sketchy (but safe) shopping center. Small space, but enough seating/turnover there shouldn't be a wait. Seems to be family-owned and staffed. Friendly workers and extensive menu. Great banchan spread and food is delicious with generous portions. Definitely worth going to if you're in the area!

Food comes out quick, delicious, and great portion size for the pricing. I really have nothing to complain about here. All dishes (kimchi jiggae, seollongtang, tteokbokki, galbi, and spicy pork belly) were delicious and seasoned well. Variety of banchan too. Servers are friendly and attentive. They open at 12 by the way on weekends (maybe weekdays too)

Love their food! We are regulars here, getting the kimchi pancake and soft tofu soup. The pork is also good. We love the banchan and the older woman who has served us every time is really nice.

Great for the prices! Got the Galbi Tang lunch, which was pretty good but slightly bland. Wish it had a little more salt. My partner got kimchi stew (extra spicy) and regretted the extra spicy part. The waitress was also like, "you sure?" and he said "yes, I love spicy". He only ate half and when she came to clear the table she said "too spicy?" LOL We'll be back and try some of the rice dishes! Good for cheaper Korean cravings.

Your local mom & pop gem that serves loads of banchan and a big menu of a variety of Korean dishes. located in the same plaza as music box which I used to karaoke at all the time. It's a pretty small restaurant so it can get packed but hopefully not many people know about it. It's been around forever though!Their BBQ and soondubu dishes are satisfying and their seafood pancake is packed with seafood. Their servers know their menu by heart by number and it was amazing to see such professionalism ! Very nice servers despite it being busy
