Jason what on earth are your review responses LOLanyway staff are super nice, the ham and cheese sandwich i got for a buy 1 get 1 free deal on doordash was actually so euphoric i fantasize about getting it again, it was absurdly good, but the brisket sandwich was actually the worst ive ever had, like cat food on a bun, i like fatty meat but it literally was as if someone put dry meat that somehow also had huge globs of flavorless fat in between some bread... i think they gotta change whoever they get their meat from but aside from that i always sing my praises about the spot

Underrated sandwiches and bbq in west oakland. Home of one of top 3 sandiwches all time, the pony boy. Pulled pork + greens + pepper relish = heaven. Nice beer selection and backyard too. This charming dive stole my heart and stomach a long time ago, and I'm glad I live much closer now for easier frequent visits.

After hearing about the tragedies that happened here, a few of my coworkers and I decided to spend a lunch here to support the business. This is my second time eating here! I always opt for the BBQ brisket sandwich. It's flavorful, soft, and filled with meat. You can't go wrong. The beans are also really good! Didn't order it myself but someone at my table did and I got to nibble. Everyone loved the beans. While in my opinion it's not Horns BBQ, Stay Gold can hold its own.There's tons of beer selection and I've heard that there are events hosted here. Neighborhood is not the best so just be weary of your car and your surroundings!

I've ordered Stay Gold a few times on Doordash. It's a nice local Oakland spot. I've mainly ordered their meat sandwiches, I've tried their Brisket Sandwich and Slides as well as their Riblet Sandwiches.Their sandwiches come with a very good amount of saucy meat and are usually topped with cole slaw, pickles and cheese.Their sandwiches are good, although I can't comment on how healthy they might be, let's just say if I ate it for lunch I'd probably try to make sure I had veggies or a salad as a big part of my dinner.

I really enjoyed my jalapeño sandwich! Spicy, a lot of meat on there. It feels like a at-home bbq garage setting. Their Mac and cheese is really shells and cheese but still good just don't expect the traditional baked crispy Mac. There was great cuts of meat, I personally like the fatty pieces a lot on brisket especially.

I am always looking for a new barbecue place to try and was happy to run across Stay Gold here on Yelp. Located on a corner, the inside is roommate with both tables and some bar seating. The patio outback has plenty of picnic tables to spread out and enjoy the fresh air.There is an extensive menu, making it difficult decision what to choose first. I figured starting with the basics was a good way to go and order the beef brisket sandwich with a side of beans. The food arrived promptly and I must say, the sandwich was enormous with plenty of meat and a good mix of coleslaw and pickles. The pimento cheese was a nice addition. The bread roll held up very well, keeping everything together until the last bite. The beans had a good flavor, with just a slight bit of spice. I wish there were more beans in the mix, but overall it delivered on flavor.Working that day was Darren, showing positive vibes, enthusiastic service, and some good looks. Stay Gold also has a good selection of beers on tap, as well as bottles and cans; certainly enough options for most to enjoy a cold drink with their meal. Stay Gold is definitely worth a repeat to explore other items on the menu.

Hands down the best Italian sandwich/sub I have ever had. I discovered Stay Gold on DoorDash in 2021 and it has since become my go-to comfort food. The Mac and cheese is absolutely mind blowing. I hated baked beans until trying Stay Gold and was also not too big on barbecue, but my mind has since changed. I cannot give a strong enough review of this place..100000/10 amazing!
