I love this place. Hands down my go to spot. I have been coming here for about 10 years now and order the same thing. Spicy Ramen w/tofu, veggie potstickers, and sometimes a sprite. You definitely can call me a regular as they remember my order and I normally sit in the same spot. Service is always great and food always amazing. I recommend the Cucumber side and kimchi! They have remolded the restaurant and it looks amazing!

Super casual spot for Korean food. The men restroom has complimentary mouthwash, which is like completely new to me. Anyway, not sure if we do get refill on the banchan. We finished some and didn't get any refill. The KFC were crispy - we wish they were crispier but it was still good. The mini army wasn't as spicy as I thought it'd be and the e ramen was a bit too soft for me. Not sure if I'll brave the buldak ramen though. The staff boxes the items for you so I'd say that's good service. We left pretty full. Will come back if we're in the area again!

Stopped by for lunch after a workout. The service stood out to me. They really try to take care of you.The food was also very good. In my soft tofu stew, I had the beef which there was plenty of in the bowl. I also had the ginger tea which had the perfect sweetness. If I'm in the area again, I'll stop by and try the kimbap and one of the other tea options.

Spoon is a solid spot for Korean food. I've been here twice and I would say it's a safe, above average spot for foods like kimbap, bulgogi, korean fried chicken, etc. It's conveniently located by Berkeley Bowl

We stopped by last night for dinner. This place is everything you would want in a Korean Bistro. The food was amazing. The chicken wings cured my chicken wing cravings lol Our order: BBQ spicy pork Kimbop, Korean ramen dish, mild Korean style wings, edamame, Korean beverage and ginger tea. The Kimbop tasted so good and was very flavorful. My friend really enjoyed the ramen. The Korean beverage had such a "fun" taste lol. Service was great as well. Our server was very patient as we figured out what we were going to order.

By far my favorite place to get Korean food. Spoon has been my go to for about 4 years now. It's an amazing treat especially on a chilly day. Tofu soup is absolutely my favorite here but I have a few other things I get when I come. I get medium spicy soup and it's the perfect amount if you're used to eating spice. I recommend trying the wings and the bibimbap as well. Service is amazing and I always appreciate how attentive the staff is. Love that they redid the space- there's more seating area in the back! Will keep coming here as long as they're open. :)

Pretty much every single item was along the lines of what you could find in a typical Korean restaurant, except for I thought the dishes were slightly less flavorful from what I have had elsewhere, but they were still good, so I think overall I could give a 4 out of 5 in terms of rating!I have tried the seafood pancakes, the kimbop, and the dolsot bibimbap. Like I had mentioned, they were all pretty standard and lacked a bit of flavor. I don't recall the bibimbop having enough gochujang or maybe even any, and I would've loved some. The seafood pancakes tasted like it didn't have enough seasoning, but the texture was as good as it could be. Overall I still enjoyed everything and would recommend this spot to people.I am fairly certain that there are more than enough Korean restaurants around the Berkeley area and I have not had any other ones yet, but I definitely liked Spoon enough to return if needed.

We came at opening on a Sunday morning! We got the Beef Bibimbap and the soft tofu.Beef Bibimbop 5/5 The toppings on the side of the Dolsot Bibimbop went along so well with the beef and frying rice underneath. It came out hot and steaming! I loved the Dolsot Bibimbop red sauce that came along and everything complemented each other very well. Soft Tofu with Chicken 3/5 This dish took a longer time to come out, 20+ minutes after the Bibimbop came out. The chicken came shredded inside the soup and it was soft and tender (: Though it was not the best soft tofu soup i've had, it was still good, set at a reasonable price, and satisfied a soft tofu craving. My biggest thing i loved was the appetizers! The fish cake and tofu were amazing paired with both dishes (:

What I ordered:6/10: Lunch Special Bento w/ Grilled Chicken - grilled chicken didn't have much flavor- japchae was clumpy and mushy- fishcake was sooo hard?? and didn't taste like much other than fish sauce- mandu was good though!- good deal for lunch, you get a lot of food5/10: Tuna Kimbap- all i could really taste was lettuce, mayo, and pickled radish- wish it had perilla leaves and no lettuceI tried Spoon for lunch, hoping to find a new Korean restaurant in Berkeley. Honestly, if you are looking for authentic Korean food, I would not recommend Spoon Korean Bistro. Everything just tasted off and had a Westernized twist to it. There is a decent amount of both indoor and outdoor seating available. We chose to sit inside but that may have been a mistake. We were surrounded by flies during the entire meal!We were very underwhelmed by the food, but it might be a different experience for the rest of the menu. As of now, I would probably not come back.Food: 5.5/10Service: 6.5/10Total: 6/10

As you walk into the sleek, modern restaurant, you are greeted by friendly servers and the upbeat sounds of K-Pop. You select your table and are promptly brought menus and fresh ice water. I chose the chicken bibimbop which comes with traditional sides: kimchi cabbage, spicy cucumber pickle, tofu, fish cakes to name a familar few. My dish came out in a sizzling steaming clay pot that was filled to the brim with a sunny-side up egg, chicken, noodles, veggies, on a layer of rice. My dish was warm and filling which was perfect for a busy and brisk winter day. My daughter ordered a rose tteokbokki which she said was delicious. There was plenty of street parking.
