Shakers Pizza

I been here since I was about 7 years old for my elementary basketball team parties. I rarely come here but everytime its the best pizza I've ever had. And you can tell the dough ratio competes with that of Seniores in the city! I can honestly say this place should never go away. Its the only thing that keeps central Newark steady after the loss of Dino's.

Shakers pizza has always been a place that I've passed on my way home and always wanted to try. I like supporting small businesses, so I went with my husband and one year old baby girl. They have a good selection of beer and a pretty big salad bar but the pizza is a different story. After a 50 minute wait, we finally got our pizza and it looked good (because of how hungry we were) but it did not taste as good as it looked. The veggies were undercooked and the bottom of the pizza was so hard not even my baby could eat it. If you're looking for a good place to eat, I would suggest Bronco Billy's pizza in Nile's (they never go wrong!).But yeah this place is over-rated and over hyped. The establishment takes so long making the hard pizza that they starve you so you'd be hungry enough to eat anything.

I have always passed this place and could never actually stop until now! It's definitely a hole in the wall, anybody who likes nostalgia will love this place. Inside the building definitely reminds me of a 90s vibe, has an arcade, a salad buffet bar, and a cool old school bar. The service was outstanding, it was pretty empty so everyone all teamed up to help me even though i just placed a pickup order over the phone.*Warning* they do NOT have a website, you can only order over the phone and they unfortunately do not deliver, but when you look them up on google, it says that you can order online but it's a scam company that takes your money. The company announced it on their Facebook page, but i just wanted to let everyone know on here as well in case they don't know. *End warning*Other than that, the pizza was good. It was not a 5 star pizza unfortunately, but it is a 4 star pizza which is still good. Again, we did pick up, so i believe that the pizza would be amazing if you ate inside. I do wanna try that salad buffet, & i look forward to bringing my kids inside to try this place out. If you're in the area, please dine in! Such a nostalgic pizza parlor, perhaps i will update my review after dining in!

This Place is an a Prime Example on How Pizza Places should be... Old School Vibe. The Pizza's are really good. Perfectly thick and loaded with Stuff... Fresh Veggies at the Salad Bar. And the Beer!!! They have the Best Selection! Pliny the Elder, Space Dust, etc... Don't have to wait long for the Pizza... Most the time they have someone Pouring the Brews so No Waiting for that either...

The pizza is delicious. Could be frustrating at times that they can't be found on any of the delivery apps, but it's well worth it when actually getting a chance to eat at the restaurant. I like that they're also pretty flexible with coupons since you can go to the website while in line and grab a coupon to use for the order.

It took more than 45 minutes to get our pizza Our kids were starving. When we ask, the reason is because they have to serve more than 100 people before. Well, should let us know when we were ordering that it's gonna take a while to get the pizza done. We want to support the local business but if this is the service that we get, then it's gonna hard. Our kids were very disappointed. We ordered 1 cheese pizza for our kids and 1 combo for us. The combo pizza came but not the cheese. When we asked, they then said it'll take 7 minutes for the cheese pizza to come. Seems that they forgot the cheese pizza order but they did not admit it. Not even an apology or sorry. Very disappointing.

Food, service and family friendly , been going for years and there is no better pizza

The pizzas are not what one would expect in a pizza joint. Little Caesar's is a lot better than Shakers. Some of the older staff can be very rude too.

Food and service is great!! Always fresh ingredients and friendly staff. Our favorite is the ham and pineapple.

My first time eating at Shakers and it was delicious! love the old school pizza parlor vibes! will definitely be back!
