This bakery is located in Union City, Ca inside Island Pacific Supermarket. It took over another bakery. My husband and I visited for the first time and pleasantly surprised on how many baked goods they sell. They have a great selection! We ordered just baked "pandesal" (dinner rolls). It is warm and couldn't wait to bite into one of them. I paid 5.99 for a dozen, what a steal! I haven't seen this price in other Filipino bakeries! The place is organized and clean! The staff are friendly! I will definitely share this place with family and friends! I will be back soon!

San Honore Panaderia opened where Valerio's Bakery was inside Island Pacific Supermarket. Self service section of pre-packaged pastries, jellies, breads, cakes...specialities are the layered cakes, pan de sal, taho, & Philippine brewed coffee. Very small browsing area. Didn't linger where crowds could congregate. Pointed out a few items in trays i thought were ready to eat. Discovered heating them in convection oven a few minutes is best to activate nuanced flavas. Bites: chicken empanada (3.25)-blandish even when heated. Veggies & crust more flavored. Chicken nada taste.Cheesy garlic bread (4/5.99)-just a chewy biscuit at room temperature. Heat brought out cheese & garlic notes.Puff mini pies (2/5.99)-same experience as cheesy garlic bread. Crust livelier when heated. Tuna version a good "fishy" scent while Chicken flava a.w.o.l. 3.5 stars would skip counter items next time. Seek out signature items

Brand new side business in the Island Pacific Building in Union City, big time Filipino grocery/social outings. There's a Goldilock's, a few stalls and a fast/casual eatery all in one stop. This is a Filipino bakery that I've never heard of and actually found this cuz I came for the previous business (Louisa & Son) for some empanadas and turon, but this place replaced it. Sad but a decent replacement. This place seems to specialize in Pan de Sal, which is basically a super soft airy roll. Any decent neighborhood in the Phillippines will have a bakery nearby where one could walk and get these fresh rolls in the morning. Citizens out there love this for breakfast with coffee as is or simply stuffed with an ingredient or 2. Could be a slice of cheese or maybe a schmear of jam or even a spoonful of last night's leftover like adobo. Crazy good with coffee, even as a kid I was doing this combo. But now as an adult, I kinda lost my favor for this style of bread. I just like the more rustic and Euro styles of bread, ones with a nice crust and more chewy innards. This pan de sal is crazy soft, super airy no exterior crust. It is like biting into air for me, no real substance. But Asians for some reason love this texture for bread, like Chinese and Japanese buns, Hawaiian rolls are all similar. Crazy popular but just not quite my cup o tea. They've got tons of bags of this bread here ready to grab and go, think it is about $6 per dozen. And their Pan de Sal is double the size of the ones I remember growing up, like you could throw some serious fillings in there. And I found out that if you go in their first few hours of operation then you can get these in a paper bag (instead of plastic) straight from the warm sheet pan. That is a serious draw. Even though not quite for me, I'd get these for sure for other family members.Other things tried:Chicken Empanadas ($3.25 ea/3.5*): just okay to me. Bigger than Louisa &Son but not as balanced from pastry to filling. Very clear and chunky fillings from diced carrots to raisins. But I'd get these again.Taho ($6ish): Iconic breakfast street food from the old world where super soft tofu is steamed til custard-y, spooned into a cup and topped with mini tapioca peals and ladled with a light caramel simple syrup. Crazy cheap and good overseas but this version is crazy American in size like triple what you'd get in the islands, so it is almost impossible to consume it all in one sitting. And this is eaten warm, so leftovers aren't really ideal. Bibingka ($10 for 3): A super soft mochi like cake also made with coconut milk. It is dense yet quite light and I think I detected chunks of coconut meat and specs of salted duck eggs to make that sweet and salty principle come to life. It is also cooked in a cup made of banana leaves for OG appeal. I also found out you can get this pretty darn fresh in the AM as well. They've also got many other things baked that I still haven't even tried or heard of, so there will be returns here for me. Even though this isn't my jam as much anymore, I know of plenty of others that would love this enough. Rounding up 1 star.

So happy there's a new bakery in the area! Took over the former Valerio's in the Island Pacific supermarket. They have such a unique variety of pastries, breads, dessert, cake, and more! A lot of items I have never seen in other similar Filipino bakeries. Will have to come back to try them all. I was kinda overwhelmed by how much stuff they have, I had a hard time figuring out what to try first! The front counter area by the register also has some options of different samples to try that are precut into smaller pieces. I ordered a fresh Taho which comes in a plastic cup. The size is pretty big, like a medium sized iced drink cup. For bread, I bought the Hopia Pastillas, Monggo Loaf, and Cream Loaf (toast). The Hopia is sooo good. Not very sweet at all! They accept cards as well and have a rewards program. Interior decor is nice and welcoming!

Not my favorite Filipino bakery. Bought a sans rival cake here over the weekend and was super disappointed. It was just layers of butter and chopped cashews and no meringue tart in between the layers. I paid $30 for butter and cashews. Never again. Go to Goldilocks or Red ribbon to get your moneys worth on the sans rival made the correct way.
