Weekday dinner turned into an absolute FEAST! My friend and I decided to treat ourselves, and wow, did we go all in! The vibes here are top-tier! Cute decor, super welcoming staff, and an easy tablet ordering system. We kicked things off with their ice cream soju drinks, which seemed light and cute... until they hit us with a sneaky punch. Food-wise, we skipped the rice bowls (gotta keep the figures in check) and went for a mix of their pan dishes. The CC Pan Dish (Cocaine Chicken) + corn cheese was an elite combo: sweet, flavorful, and comforting. The pork pan dish with macaroni salad was just as delicious, and the Pig Ponzu Salad? Easily my favorite. If you love ponzu, you need to try it! The seafood pancake was crispy and tasty, but I wish it came with more dipping sauce. Also tried their skewers, which were fun to share, but honestly, a bit too much work for me. Huge shoutout to the store manager who checked in on us and convinced us to try the $5 hot sake deal. Let's just say it took our night up a notch. Portions were generous, and we had plenty to take home for lunch the next day. Definitely coming back with friends, especially since they stay open late!

My friend was super excited to share Rice Junky with us so we could try a favorite drink from his culture, so we all went together after work this week. I had previously ordered from here online, so I was excited to visit the physical location. When we arrived, he asked if they had a particular drink on the menu and they confirmed, and he asked if he could order it. The server said all orders could be done through the tablet on the table, so my friend attempted to find it on the tablet. He was having difficulty finding it so he asked for assistance and the same server pointed to the tablet and said to order it there. Which was incredibly frustrating since he had already tried. He tried to explain that and the server was dismissive of him, rather than offering to show him where it was located. After continuing to struggle with the tablet, she finally helped him find it - but with only a few tables occupied, it seemed to take a lot of requests to get help to order to spend money. We watched a table across the room from us get served multiple rounds of drinks before our drinks arrived. By this point we had determined we weren't ordering food and we had almost left. No one ever came to check in with us during the wait.I am frustrated on behalf of my friend who wanted to host us and how the service here came across. I enjoyed the drink and will seek it out at other local spots, but likely won't return to Rice Junky nor order online again. I don't need to pay Bay Area restaurant prices when it seems like the employees don't want me to spend my money there. Maybe we hit an off-day, but the owner's reply to my friend's review here tells me all I need to know.Edit to respond to business reply: Yes, I am obviously with the same group as I reference my friend's post in the last sentence of my review. I am part of the group referenced and am able to provide my perspective. I have well over 100 reviews on Yelp - feel free to check my history, it's generally pretty positive reviews, so I'll let Yelp users decide where to spend their money.

I visited Rice Junky with a group of five, including Annie, and was really disappointed by the service. I usually don't write reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough that it deserves to be shared. The biggest issue was the server, Lena. From the start, she seemed uninterested in helping customers. When we asked about Makgeolli (막걸리) drink since we couldn't locate the one we were looking for 9because it had yogurt in it), Lena repeatedly said it was under the "alcohol" section on the ordering screen but refused to actually assist in finding it. Even after it was clear we still couldn't locate it, she dismissed us instead of offering basic help. The poor service continued. The restaurant wasn't even busy--it was early on a Tuesday--yet our drink never arrived. We waited for about 1/2 hour, and when we finally asked about it, Lena just brushed it off with, "They're making it. You need to wait." It wasn't a complicated drink, and with barely any other customers around, the delay made no sense. Then, right as we were leaving (seconds later), the drink was suddenly brought to our table (and in a rush like it was just sitting there in a tray already). The worst part? When I brought up how poorly we were treated, Lena completely denied any issue. She claimed she had helped us, which couldn't have been further from the truth. I don't know what standard of service she thinks she provided, but it certainly wasn't acceptable. To be fair, another server (the shorter one) actually apologized when I mentioned how unhappy we were. But she wasn't the problem--Lena was.I've been to Rice Junky quite a few times, but after this visit, I don't see a reason to return. There are plenty of places where customers are treated with basic respect--this isn't one of them.*** Edit/response to the owner's comments.#1 Your response tells me everything I need to know about the lack of professionalism and why your server behaves the way she did and thinks that's okay.#2 I'm Korean#3 Lina and Lena read the same like Jon or John or Bryan or Brian. Instead of trying to correct me, try correcting your own attitude towards your customers. #4 "Lena" is your best server????!??!! hahaha okay.... you must be a real junky....

I never write reviews--unless a place is so amazing that it deserves a shout-out or so exceptionally bad that it needs to be called out. Unfortunately, this was the latter.I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Rice Junky, mainly due to one of the servers, Lena. When I asked her a simple question about a particular drink, she dismissively told me it was under "alcohol" and that I needed to order it from the screen. When I mentioned that I couldn't find it and asked if she could show me, she flat-out refused, repeating that it was under "alcohol." Even after struggling to locate it and calling her over via the ordering pad, she got visibly annoyed and sassy with me, again refusing to assist. To make matters worse, the restaurant was nearly empty--it was early on a Tuesday--yet our drink never arrived. After waiting around 30 minutes, I finally asked her about it, and she just said, "They're making it. You need to wait." Really? All they had to do was pour the drink from the bottle into a ceramic pot. If the place had been busy, I would have understood, but it was practically deserted. The real kicker? When we finally decided to leave, the drink magically appeared. How convenient.I used to like this place, but after this experience, I won't be coming back. Customer service matters, and Rice Junky just lost a customer for good.

I had to try Rice Junky since I love Asian flavors and was curious with the high Yelp rating. I ordered the CC Chicken(3/5) with chili sauce and mozzarella. It was heavily seasoned with all spice so it had a very All Spice distinct flavor that didn't do it for me... but it wasn't bad. I also tried their spicy pork wrap with their Korean Bbq sauce (teriyaki) and egg fried rice (4/5) and the beef bulgogi bowl with K Bbq sauce and egg fried rice (5/5). The beef had a great crispy char and that sweet teriyaki and sesame oil flavor. This is the dish to get. Next time I will order extra meat. I understand now why the high Yelp scores. Memorable food, reasonable prices, and good service. I'll be back for more beef bulgogi with their K BBQ sauce!

We arrived here for a Saturday late lunch. Parking was easy and plentiful. As soon as you walk in, there's K pop vibes throughout the restaurant. The K pop music was blasting out loud and there was K pop stars on posters plastered throughout the walls. Funny neon light signs such as "keep smile cuz u r ugly" were also present as well. If you are a K pop super fan, this is definitely the perfect place for you. I ordered the CC Chicken Pan Dish with corn cheese and it was flavorful. It came out hot and smelling good in a sizzling plate. The corn cheese was new to me but tasty as well. The wifey ordered a Bulgogi Dupbop with white rice and cabbage. Her dish was delicious. I did not try the kids soups but they looked appetizing. Service was friendly and efficient. It looked like happy hour specials are offered daily as well. To my surprise the bathrooms offered toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, and lotion at your disposal. I rarely see that in bathrooms except in Vegas clubs with the bathroom attendant expecting a tip. It's a nice gesture from the restaurant. I enjoyed my experience there. We hope to be back to try other dishes if we are in the area.

I was a little apprehensive about entering a restaurant with giant posters of K-pop stars plastered all over, but the "pub food" here is great! Ordering is done on an individual screen at each table. We got the CC Chicken Bowl, Crunch Pork Bowl, and beef skewers; all were delicious. There was a good balance between the amount of meat vs. rice and vegetables in the bowls. You have the option of adding additional sauces like BBQ, chili, "angry" sauce, or white sauce, but I don't think they were essential. The bowls were pretty well dressed already. The food came out quickly too.I have to commend Rice Junky on their nice, clean bathrooms. They even have feminine sanitary pads stocked, which I have never seen at an Asian restaurant.By the way, the "CC" stands for "Cocaine Chicken." So I guess "CC Chicken Bowl" is then "Cocaine Chicken Chicken Bowl." Someone must have been on CC when they came up with that acronym.

3.5 star. It's a good late night spot for some comfort Korean pocha food. My bf and I shared the CC Chicken (sweet and spicy flavor) Pandish with corn cheese and cheese tteokbokki with mandu added. The CC chicken with corn cheese is the best! Flavorful chicken, so juicy!! It is a bit on the sweeter side and not that spicy (in my opinion) but I really enjoyed it. The chicken also tastes so good topped with corn cheese. We added mandu to our cheese tteokbokki. The tteok / rice cakes were nice and chewy, but the sauce was watery so the rice cakes didn't really soak up or adhere to the sauce. I drank the sauce kind of like a soup. Mandu added nice crunchy textures. The dish also comes with triangle fishcakes.Service was ok. We had to move tables because a big group came in which I didn't mind, however, when it came to the check they messed up and charged me a service fee for party of 6, even though my bf and I were only 2 people and I didn't notice until I already paid additional tip. It's ok, everybody makes mistakes, but I felt a bit rushed paying at the cashier.

This is more of a late-night Korean spot (heavy on the vibes). The neon signs inside are cute though!I tried the Cheese Crunch Pork Dupbop (pork cutlet) with the White sauce option (really good), the Seafood Pancake (a little salty), and sweet potato fries (these were better than the regular fries). I'd probably not get the BBQ sauce again since it didn't taste like much.
