Oeste Bar & Cafe

Came right after work with coworkers for the cocktails and the some small bites..only reason for 4 stars, i wish they posted on their website or socials when they will be having private events OR when areas will be closed. We wanted to sit at the rooftop section, but it was closed for a private event. Wish we knew ahead of time..But we sat at the restaurant downstairs, it was still a vibe and we ordered from the bar menu and ordered a few cocktails and we still enjoyed ourselves and the food was great. Will definitely be back

First off when you enter Oeste the place has a great energy. It is very pleasing to the eye. It is clean. Everyone is friendly. The vibe is great. The music is curated by a DJ. The clientele is hip, upscale and joyful. It feels like home. The waitstaff is attentive and takes great care of you. Now let's talk food. I am very picky especially when it comes to food that I make extremely well. So when I go to a place whose menu is similar to my home menu it better be out of this world. Oeste's food was. We ordered the fry catfish plate. It comes with catfish, red beans and rice. It was perfection. The fish was crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside and seasoned very well. The beans were almost better than mine. They make them with smoke turkey and add just enough heat to them. And it wen great with the white rice. The portion is huge. We ordered fried plantains. They did not disappoint. They were fried well and were sweet. Loved it. We got Mac and cheese that was sinful. They make their with gruyère cheese which made it soft and cheesy on the inside and crusty on the outside. Great twist on the dish. We ordered a green salad which was large and in charge. The dressing was yummy and the salad was fresh and tasty. Lastly, we ordered the bread pudding. So delicious, the whip cream was so fresh and was drizzled in caramel which made it also sinful. I left out of there with a stuffed belly and totally satisfied. If I lived in the Bay Area this would definitely be my weekly spot. I can't recommend it enough. It is a great place to go have drinks with friends or celebrate events at. I can't say enough about it. Except I will be going back when in the Bay Area. ‍

We came for a night cap and were seated fairly quickly upon arrival. We had bread pudding, fried chicken sandwich and burger with fries. Everything tasted really good. Vibe was great with DJ and ambiance. Fun and happening. Can't wait to come back.

It had been awhile since I frequented Oeste. Glad I did. A few friends and I went to grab some drinks after a concert. It was packed with a bunch of 49er fans celebrating their win. It was a satisfying way to end the night and head home. Cheers.

Didn't realize the food would be pretty decent here. We've only ever come for the bar. It's such a vibe inside and they play solid music. We sat at the rooftop which was nice. Service could be better.

With reservations, my party arrived at 7:45 pm on Juneteenth. The place is offered a lively atmosphere. Although the rooftop was open, we chose not to eat outside, because it felt quite chilly. After being seated inside, we saw small groups of patrons headed up to enjoy the rooftop. This busy night only had one table open, which was quickly filled. Our main entreés arrived simultaneously, but the salad we ordered came later. This was not a big issue, since the table was smaller and there was not much space to hold another platter. I opted for the shrimp ceviche, which had a subtle spice, appropriately citrusy, had fresh tortillas chips, but was missing the avocado.The catfish was indeed crispy and held a beautiful Cajun flavor with a nice kick. Our Little Gem salad was okay - the amount of dressing was slightly too much, but the blue cheese became the star paired with the apples.My Beach Bum cocktail was beautifully tropical - appropriately sweet, the flavor of Appleton rum was present without being overbearing, and felt refreshing. The Oeste Haze had a smoky, balanced taste with ginger and felt like a perfect summer drink. Our server was attentive, despite being occupied throughout our meal.

My boss wanted to take us out to dinner for Christmas. He has suggested this place which he had been before and loved it. I thought it was a perfect spot. The ambience was really nice, good music and it was just a feel good environment. The food was so good. We have the chicken wings, brussels sprouts for appetizers. A couple of us had the catfish with red beans and rice, which is really good and the others had chicken sandwiches or something like that. The drink I had was really good. I can't remember the name of it, but it had a cherry and a candied lime on top. I can't wait to check this place out again for brunch. The service was really good. Our server came and checked on us several times. It's been a while since I lived in Oakland and I was so excited to check out a place I had never been. Now I'm ready to go to everything downtown Oakland. I noticed they have a lot of new live places that people talk about. Niccceeee

A really chill vibe and excellent staff make a visit to Oeste worth it. We were greeted by Maja and she made us feel welcome walking in the door the evening of my time there. We sat upstairs on the rooftop open area, by ourselves the entire time. A lot of people downstairs missed a specatular evening dining al fresco. A start with the grilled brussel sprouts app it was tasty and served with a nice dipping sauce. For my entree I went for the Salmon teriyaki it was delicious, a nice portion of perfectly cooked fish, moist pink and flavorful served over a bed of rice and a side of fresh mixed greens salad. The fish was done very well and it was a good choice.There were a few different mocktails on the menu so I opted for the mocking bird it was a cool drink. Not to sweet and well balanced, so much so I had a second one. Finished the evening witha fresh bread pudding, again a solid choice - warm, caramel and cinnamon with a good chocolate drizzle topped with fresh whipped cream and powdered sugar. 10 STARS! My first time visiting Oeste, it was very busy but we were able to find seating at the rooftop where we ordered food and drinks. It was a little difficult to get someone to take our order but when we received our order, we were so satisfied with the taste and quality. Now, I order here weekly through Doordash. The owner of the restaurant is very nice and efficient. Overall I am always excited to visit here or order food online, it's always a wonderful experience,. Not to mention, the rooftop was very warm and comfortable, since the furniture was clean and they have outdoor heaters.Visiting here is a must!

If there's any place, I would recommend anyone to go to for brunch in Oakland it would be Oeste. I really enjoyed the energy in there and the food was packed with flavor. The rice and beans were to die for. My favorite thing there is the whole fried fish and baby Ceasar???? he was all about that salad (add the grilled chicken, trust me)
