This place totally exceeded my expectations. I'm an asian dude that once spent 6 months living in Mexico for work. One of the dishes I missed most from my travels was a molcajete and any time I crave Mexican foods, I always check the menus of restaurants to see if they have it. I specifically came to this place just to try it. The restaurant is chill, cozy, and very clean. Since the menu was so expansive, it's so convenient that they have the QR code embedded on the table so you can take your time to look at the menu on your phone. I ordered the molcajete especiale camaron. A piping hot stone bowl was filled to brim with juicy shrimp and savory broth. From the first taste, it instantly brought me back to my memories from my time in Mexico. The homemade tortillas were a great accompaniment. You can just tell that whoever made the dish took great care with it. This food brought me so much joy. It's more than just delicious, it was a wonderful experience. The server was also really friendly. I appreciate how he often came to check on us to see if we needed anything like more tortillas or chips to go with my soup. He was so attentive. I can't wait to go back and try everything else here!

I went to Molcajete for the first time and had lunch on a Saturday. There were plenty of folks in there. Full for almost the entire time I was seated. Still, the service was great. Delicious chicken fajitas! The warm corn tortillas were very good. The margarita was just OK. Not the best. But I got tropical instead of regular. I'll have to try a regular one just to see. But I'll definitely be back when I'm in this part of town because it was very tasty.Overall, the artistic Mexican decor is way hip, so this place is pretty cool. It's not high-end, super gourmet. Just a really good Mexican restaurant.

If you like Mexican food, this place is a must try. We had 3-4 servings of the chip and guacamole (chips were freshly made and absolutely crispy/divine), steak nachos, steak chimichanga plate, and the chicken ensomolada. Excellent customer service and 10/10 taste/portions/ambiance. Definitely coming back to try the regular burritos and alcoholic bevssss!

I love this place I had to make the trip, I totally miss coming here when I used to live in the area. Their decorations are super cute and colorful. The service is always smooth and all of the wait staff that work here are super fast, and they never miss any details. I love their aguachile and cochinita pibil. I always get their guacamole it's my fave. My go to drinks are the vampiro or their michelada with Pacifico. So refreshing and yummy

Listen this little Mexican restaurant was by far the best spot I have found in Oakland. It's family owned and operated. Like literally Abuela in the kitchen cooking from scratch. The Birria plate was phenomenal! The tortillas are a special recipe that simply melts in your mouth. Service was fast and the place is a little dive with a full bar. I suggest bringing your friends and trying all the food!

What an extensive menu?!? And breakfast burritos offered all day?! Say less! The food came out so quick and the burritos were massive. We got our food to go and we were so hungry by the time we made it home that there were no pictures documenting said burritos bc they were that good and we were that hungry. The service was great too bc as we were heading out, they realized they hadn't smothered my partner's burrito in mole as he had ordered and proactively initiated to remedy it (we would've zipped home and been none the wiser until we opened our bag). I appreciated the integrity bc they didn't have to do that, and it feels like many places don't go out of their way to do this. We'll be back!!!

We come here all the time since it's right down the street. The menu has most food items that anyone could ask for from a Mexican restaurant; burritos, tacos, quesadillas, tortas, nachos, giant sizzling molcajetes with meat and veggies in them, fajitas, enchiladas, flautas, mole, chile rellena, etc. As well as breakfast items, like breakfast burritos, chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. All the food quality is good and a little elevated from other taquerias you might find, but that means it's also a little pricier for the portion size. I like the carne asada from here which is juicy and tender, and the shrimp tacos. I also love Mexican breakfast, so it's not uncommon that I grab a breakfast burrito to go. I haven't eaten in the restaurant in years but they have a smaller interior with nice murals on the walls and a nice outdoor parklet to enjoy the food.

Food is still great, but we ordered some shots today with the food. Espolon Reposado surely is a lower cost than Don Julio, fact. I ordered espolon reposado shots with a can of sprite. The shots were $18 dollars a piece and when I looked at the charge it said they were Don Julio. I corrected the guy ringing us up and he said the don julio shots are marked as the same price as espolon. They're not even the same price range in the stores for a bottle! Shots were already taken so of course we paid, but I wouldn't feel so off about it if it didn't ring up as Don Julio. The carne asada and steak burrito is STILL fueeeeeego though. The food here is still definitely some of the best Mexican food in town.

I've been walking by this place about a dozen times a day since I've been dog walking the last few days. It's one of the only places that serves food past 9pm in the area. There's a lot of seating inside and out, it was about 10:30pm and plenty of seating inside, but I wad feeling quite warm after a long walk so I opted to sit outside. The employees were all super nice, throughout the entirety of my meal. The menu is huge. I didn't ask for a paper menu, there was a digital one kind of high, and my vision isn't the best. So I probably should have asked for a paper one so I could see it better. I ordered a 3 taco thing. It came with chips and salsa and it was only $11. Great deal.

My friends had the fish tacos and vegan burrito and I had the California shrimp burrito. We were so pleasantly surprised with just how good the food was! My burrito was so flavorful with great veggies and a delicious side salad. The guac and salsa were also fresh and tasty. Service was excellent and the interior is really fun though very small. Definitely coming back for more!!
