Marley's Treats

I'm so sad that Marley's Treats is closing their storefront! They'll stay open throughout February (March onwards, TBC) before transitioning to catering only. As a huge Pandan/Ube fan (but also someone who does not have a sweet tooth), this hits hard. These flavors are my absolute favorites! I ordered my wedding cake from Marley's--an 8" UBE CAKE ($135) along with dozens of UBE CUPCAKES ($32/dozen)--and they were a hit! So many guests raved about how moist and yummy they were. Delivery to Walnut Creek ($40) was smooth too.When I visited their store, I also tried the UBE FLANDESAL and UBE OREO CUPCAKE. They were decent, but I definitely preferred the ube cupcakes. The flandesal's leche flan filling was a bit too sweet for me. It was coconutty, and slightly salty which helped balance the sweetness a bit. I also found the Ube Orea cupcake to lack ube flavor in comparison as the oreo cream kind of diluted it.However, the PANDAN ICE CREAM $11 for a pint, took me by surprise. It's super green (probably an extract), but the texture is creamy--not icy at all. The pandan flavor is actually strong, which is rare! Most spots dial down the pandan/ube flavors, so it ends up too subtle, but not Marley's Treats! I personally like this more than other pandan ice creams I've had (like Garden Creamery and Miharu). My husband also tried their UBE PANDAN CRUNCH ICE CREAM and he said it was really good too, but they didn't have it when I was there.That said, the UBE MILKSHAKE was painfully sweet. I had it on an empty stomach and felt sick after a few sips--couldn't even finish it. Also felt that the milk kind of watered the ube flavor down (compared to cupcakes/ice cream). Their milkshakes are only for those with a serious sweet tooth.Btw, I'm on a mission to try all the pandan cakes/ice creams/coffees in the Bay Area. Haven't tried too many yet, but I'll report back. I've only heard about this place recently. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was very quiet. The server at the front was super friendly and patient. Even though we kind of asked for a lot of little things, never did she sound frustrated or impatient. I really appreciate her attitude.We got a milk shake and the Ube flan tart. It was pretty good. I would rate the food a 7 out of 10. But, the service was spectacular, a full 5 star review

I have been following Marley's treats' IG and I finally get to try it today. The girl there was super nice and told us we could sample the ice cream. There were 4 flavors: cookie flanster, pandan, ube and ube with flan.We got a cookie flanster milkshake, a scoop (which is actually 2 scoops of pandan and ube with flan ice cream), and a flan ube cheesecake .I love everything we got! The flan overpowered the ube cheesecake a bit. I usually don't like ube but the ube with flan ice cream was sooo good. Pandan ice-cream was very strong but mixing with the ube ice cream was perfect. I didn't intend to finish the whole thing but I did!! I asked the girl about when they will close the store since I saw that they are closing down. She said they are waiting for someone to buy the lease. So anytime soon!!! They will just do catering.Definitely recommend come try out this great dessert before it's gone!!

My family and I are so sad Marley's Treats is closing. We found out and had to come by to get some goodies. I'll miss the ube cheesecake flan the most. Thank you Gemma and Marley's Treats for the delicious treats through the years! To say you'll be missed is an understatement. Y'all come get your ube fix before they close!

Calling all ube lovers! We stumbled upon this spot after walking around the Hayward area. Limited flavors to try from. I only saw 3 flavors displayed. The mocha and red velvet ice cream is called "red and gold" something like that but honestly I forgot. I got to sample between the pandan and the latter. I liked the latter more. Tbh the pandan was too subtle and icey. For the price, it's great! $3 for 2 scoops in a cup. I've had their desserts before and it's definitely sweet! Fun fact: they also were a vendor at Outsidelands! Need to come back to try their ube shakes.

I took my daughter here yesterday due the ube options this place had (my daughters favorite). We ordered the ube flan cheesecake, ube flan milkshake and the ube crinkle Cooke filled with flan.All had the beautiful purple ube but the winner for me had to be the ube flan cheesecake. The texture and flavor was on point. I could've went without the crinkle filled cookie but I think that was just my preference. If you go please try the ube flan cheesecake. The service was quick and sweet and the place was located in a small little street where I found parking pretty quickly on a Saturday afternoon.

I'm bummed we came right before closing because a lot of items on the menu were sold out. But we were able to try their Ube milkshake and their Ube and Flan crinkle cookies. The cookie itself is big. Other times I've had Ube crinkle cookies, they were pretty small, so size-wise this was really nice! But the flan inside the cookie was disproportionately low, given the size of the cookie. But the flan with the cookie was hella good, just needed more.Respectively, It could be because we came late, so I don't wanna put any blame on the place. Service was good and the employee was super accommodating! So will definitely plan another visit and try more items on the menu!

Went for DessertFood - 5/5. Ice creams were absolutely delicious and had strong flavors in the Filipino fashion. It was very decadent but the flavors had great harmony. The subtle ube flavors paired well with the rich hot cocoa. The cookies and cream was colored like Blue's Clues, but the flavor was there and the leche flan added a dense, creamy deliciousness. Every item on the ube sampler was loaded with strong ube flavor. My favorite had to to be the flan tart. Their leche flan had an excellent dense texture and just the right amount of sweetness, which allowed the ube flavor to shine even further.Service - 4/5. Quick and friendly service.Value - 5/5. They have unique flavors of ice cream served in a huge scoop for only $5. The ube sampler was $22 for 6 pieces, which is less than $4 each. That is of great value, especially given their quality. I've always wanted to check out what Downtown Hayward has, and this place was our first on the list. Everything ube related, you can get here! I got a scoop of their ube horchata black sesame ice cream, and it was so delicious. My friend got their ube sampler box which consists of ube flandesals, ube cupcakes, and ube flan cheesecakes, and they all look really good. They have a pretty backdrop where you can take all ur foodie pics. Solid area for ube desserts, will def come back when I'm in the area :)
