London Fish 'N Chips

Them fish n' chips are jumbolicious! Not only are the fish n' chips jumbo but their fried zucchini are also jumbolicious! Their batter is really good because the fried food stayed crunchy even when I got back home with my take-out. This is definitely a gem in Hayward/San Leandro. Fish n' Chips - large pieces of fish, large steak friesFried Zucchini - large pieces of zucchini fried in crispy crunchy batterThe only draw back is the sauce, they don't give you enough for all those big o' pieces of food.Its located in a small strip mall. parking is awkward but do-able! Decor is very British! Fun!

I grew up with a British woman, so trips to the UK were had and the genuine and obligatory fish n chips was always had. Aside from that if we wanted Fish n chip there was H.S. salt fish and chips, but those are far and few in between these days. I was searching for something different and had a craving for fish n chips, before heading to work and found this place. It's hidden in a corner part of the strip mall and walking it reminds me a dark British pub, the black walls may contribute. However they have a good selection of fish n chip meals, shrimp and eve some limited chinese food on the menu.Ordered the two piece fish meal. It was nice to see that the fish was cooked after I placed my order. It came out like under 10 minutes. And the piece of cod were huge. There was a good portion of steak fries that came with it. It came with a two sides of tarter sauce. There's an area with malt vinegar, salt, and ketchup.This reminds me Definitely of my fish n chips from my childhood and recent trip to the UK. Nice breading and slightly greasyI will be frequenting this place in person or delivery to work for lunch.

Not bad. Not the best, but not bad. Food 4/5The fish and chips is one of the better in the area. Their fried oysters on the other hand is a miss. Service: 4/5Service is prompt and direct. Not frills and no nonsense. Ambiance 2/5The place itself has tables but really it's a takeout spot. It's not comfortable or welcoming as a dine-in place.My only gripe is that their tartar sauce, which you pay extra for, is cut with ranch and milk. It's so obvious. Same with their cocktail sauce. They cut it with ketchup. If you're going to charge extra, give the good stuff.

The fish is crispy , not too greasy and fresh. Huge portions! The French fries are not the best ... not crispy enough for me .... Also I wasn't impressed with the coleslaw either but I think that's just because of personal preference.... I'm a coleslaw snob. It definitely satisfied my craving for fish fry tho.... I also ordered the lemonade and it was fresh! I would prolly come back for the fish.

Fish is delicious , good portions , don't ask for sauces unless you want extra , got sick from their food on the second try, typically a sign that they don't change their oil often , which could be a good thing or a bad thing lol

(3.5 out of 5)Nestled in the back of a parking lot across from Kennedy park, I was expecting a run down restaurant inside with only takeout. But they walls in there and the ambiance really embrace the UK. There was a good bit of people in there and very nice service. Huge pieces of fish. Could've fed two people with one order! Very tasty and reasonably priced!When you come tell them Rothyy sent you!

You probably don't wanna know what the back kitchen looks like, but this place will surely nip your fish and chips cravings in the bud. The portions are good and the batter is crisp. Egg rolls were a nice wild card, the veggies were soft and savory under the crunchy wrap. Service was great. I asked for some water to offset the sweetness of my lemonade and got a free water bottle.

We've passed by this place numerous times, always saying we had to stop by some time. Well, today was that day. This strip mall is in a L-shape. Long leg perpendicular to Hesperian; Short leg, in the back, parallelling Hesperian. London Fish 'N Chips is at the back of the long leg. There was plenty of parking in the lot. She went in while I stayed outside with the dog. All I wanted was fish and suggested that she got whatever else she wanted. We were also going make another stop down the street for some Chinese take-out. I like that London offers various combinations. Many places will charge you for the Chips even if you don't want them. Some will let you substitute Cole Slaw or perhaps a Fried Veg. We ordered:Family Pak - 4 - This was five pieces of fish (I don't know if she asked what kind), some lemon wedges, house-made tartar sauce and malt vinegar.Deep Fried Mushrooms - 4 - Medium sized mushrooms battered and deep fried. Not much to be said here. Deep Fried Zucchini - 3 - I'm weird and I know it. I always expect my zucchini to be served in wedges and these were served as thick coins. With both in the same boat, you couldn't always tell one from the other until you bit into it. Was it the best Fish ever? No. The best ever was what we had in London recently. But it was good and a reasonable value. Easy 3.5 stars + .5 added for the convenience of not having to throw away the Chips. I also liked that the Mushrooms were large enough to be considered meaty. The batter was slightly sweet and not too greasy. She said that the service was okay, though it took a tad longer than expected for the order to come out considering there were no other customers. I feel that the tartar sauce was also sweet and should have been thicker. There was no Ranch or Blue Cheese provided for the veg. All in all, I'll still go back when craving fish because of the proximity to home and the decent serving size. I'd also be curious to try the Prawns, Scallops and Oysters.

Generous portion of fish and chips. Comparable to London, England fish and chips.Wanted hush puppies but they had something called corn balls. Wasn't what I expected. Great place for fish and chips!

Pricey. Use to be good. Eent today and got onion rings. One word - pitiful. They chsnged batter. Has a cakey texture inside. OoofWas over fried wanted it to be my spot but won't be going back. Mine at home is better. Can't even satisfy a crave and not cook.
