I never leave reviews because I'm lazy. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I live in Venice, California. I make this a must stop every time I visit my sister in San Jose. The cheese and meat boards are a killer deal and always so good! The sliders are mouthwatering. The thought of the arugula salad is making me hungry now. The ambience is perfect for a girls night, date night, happy hour, all the things! Besides all of that I cannot begin to explain the kindness and genuine appreciation you will feel when you are greeted by this staff. They go above and beyond what any waiter or bartender is required to do. Long story short: my sister had a bad day and being in Los Angeles all I wanted to do was send her our favorite wine and cheese for comfort. They do not have a delivery service. Jim (James) who works there, he might be a manager or owner, went out of his way to deliver the order himself. I will always come here! If you haven't been here, get to it!! My favorite cheese is the truffle!

I arranged a meetup event here on a Sunday evening and found this place that has flights, especially bubbly flights and decided to host the event here.I called and talked to Jim about it. He is responsive and wants to work with you.We were a group of 9 and I has expected 8. I called Jim back to let him know that it might be 10 women and he was very flexible about it.Unfortunately because of a misunderstanding - when I talked to Jim initially, I mentioned that a lot of women like the bubbly but he understood it as all the women would order bubbly. As such, he ordered a nice French Champagne for the event but wen I spoke to him on the day off, I made it clear that the attendees will a order what they want but a lot of them like bubbly. Because of the confusion, we ended getting 3 small tables right at the front that Jim could not join together and a lot of us ended up standing so we could talk to each other which was not comfortable.Other than that, we all loved it. The place offers a white flight, a red flight or pick your own wine flight. You get three tastings for $22. The pours were good. They also have bar bites as well as burgers etc. There is plenty of parking and at 5pm on a Sunday, the place was not full but people started to come in a bit later.

Very long overdue review for my very favorite happy hour and staff on the entire Alameda! They have a plethora of seating with pretty much any type you'd like. Bar tops, high tops, cozy booths, an upstairs looking over it all and an outdoor area with heaters that feel like a toasty campfire. Their selection of wine is fantastic. I'm a creature of habit and rarely stray from a Sauvignon blanc or white wine but when I do, Jim and Nicole are always ready with a red suggestion that I thoroughly enjoy. Onto their bites, I typically am here during happy hour so most of what I know is based on that and of course their amazing charcuterie boards. I've nibbled my way through most of the happy hour menu and loved everything, my all time favorite is the pesto and marinated tomato crostini's- they are are perfectly balanced with salt, tanginess and herb from the pesto! Similar to the wines, if you don't know where to start with your charcuterie board just ask, we pretty much say surprise us and have loved it every time!

Had my wedding rehearsal dinner party here. It was such a fun, cozy, and beautiful evening. Jim the manager super awesome, easy to work with and helped with the menu!! We had the upstairs area just for our group. It was buffet style with bottles of wine and beers on deck! Such a fantastic place to spend the evening with family and friends. The food, beer and wine amazing! No doubt I will have another party at hop and vine!

A great little stop to have a great glass of wine or one of their many rotating craft beers. Service is always great and attentive. Been here a dozen times or so and never really that busy. Another note I had a company happy hour here. There's a loft that they'll serve you privately with bites and platters if you order ahead.

A lovely place to meet friends. Great menu to pair with wine. Love the samosas and the Brie with prosciutto. The service was attentive and our server was bright smiles. Only complaint is the music was a bit loud. Love the atmosphere and the window table was great.

Came by here on a random day a couple weeks ago. We wanted wine and lunch - unfortunately their kitchen was closed so we munched on chips and salsa while enjoying our wine flights. Absolutely perfect location and spot - very nice inside and out with nice weather. Liked it very much and we will be back at a more convenient hour to sample the kitchen food.

Great beer, wine, and food selections for a light night out in the rose garden neighborhood. The staff is personable and knowledgeable in their wine and beer options, and their in-house brewed beers also come in cans to take home. Highly recommend on a nice sunny day/evening for a date night or a quick drink and snack.

Your classic neighborhood wine bar! I'm not a huge wine drinker myself but this is the go to spot I take wine loving friends when we don't want to get back in the car. Importantly, this place has food compared to several nearby tasting rooms. Alcohol on an empty stomach is a bad scene man! This place offers a wide selection of beer (hops) and wine (vine). You can even make your own flight of wine with generous pours. The food isn't gourmet level but hits the spot and you can't go wrong. My favorite is the truffle balsamic basil pizza to make me feel adult. Heads up the crostini are small so it's more of a snack/light meal. Every service person I've had here has been so funny and kind Logistics:- indoor and outdoor seating, but outdoor is bar height with backless chairs on the sidewalk - limited street parking nearby

Hop & Vine is FINE! (Even better than my simple rhyme)This is the old wine affairs and has transformed many times over the years. The newest entity is Hop & Vine ... and it is great. Fantastic selection of beers and wine . Chill vibe and occasional live music. There is even a video DJ who is fun and creative on Friday evenings. I've been going to this spot for years. A great location super duper staff.
