The vegetables and quail eggs are so fresh and abundant. Must try the lobster ballsThe prices are reasonable. Kids are half price for the buffet. The portions are large and food is delicious. Serviré is prompt and friendly. This is a real hot pot and food spot. Loved the appetizers bulgogi and brisket. The wings areas delicious too.

For the month of January, I chose to detox a little from meat so I called in asking if Hancook could provide vegetarian options for AYCE hot pot. They said yes. Their hot pot is ~$35 each. We got there and the waitress didn't seem to want to allow us to do an all you can eat for 2 vegetarian people. She kept recommending fish or other bowls that we didn't want. I expressed that I called and asked about AYCE for vegetarian and was told it was ok. She reluctantly said ok and showed me the menu to see what broth options they had. It showed $5 charge for any protein and I took this to mean we wouldn't have to pay that since we didn't get a protein, but when our bill came it was over $70 and still requested a tip. The veggie selection was very limited and overall value wasn't worth the $90+ cost. They still charged us the extra $10 for meat. We didn't event order drinks, just water. In comparison, the next day we went to another hot pot restaurant that offered more variety for less money and better quality items. While it wasn't AYCE, we were allowed to take the left over food home and still ate enough there (including ordered extra veggies) and it was less than Hancook. Never again Hancook. I was going to give 2 stars but take partial blame for allowing myself to get hotpot while on a diet.

Restaurant isn't huge but fits a good amount of ppl still. Ambiance isn't anything crazy just a typical hot pot restaurant setup with tables and built in hot plates and the steam hoods. Food was good we did AYCE hot pot. Really liked the rice cakes on a stick. The Japchae was okay not the best I've had or worst. Meat seamed to be decent quality but it the portions were small. (Maybe they do that on purpose so people don't waste?) The self service bar for veggies and sauces was okay not mind blowing.Service is where it was lacking. There were 2-3 people working but they didn't really check on us often, but I understand it was a bit busy. If I want a hot pot fix in Oakland I may return but honestly wasn't blown away.

Came for dinner and ended up getting happy hour pricing based on timing. Our server was an older gentleman, and he was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Their AYCE is a really good deal - $33 during HH for a long menu of meats, seafood, noodles, appetizers, self-service vegetable + fish cake + sauce bar, and even grilled meats, like bulgogi, spicy pork, bbq chicken, and more that come out on hot plates. You also get 2 soup bases per pot. Not necessarily the highest quality items but a steal of a deal and great service.

I've been missing good Korean food since moving to the Bay from Ktown LA. I have new favs here but was particularly missing bossam (which I enjoyed at Hancook). Service and ambiance was solid and for moments I felt like I was back in ktown (minus my crew, of course. heh)

I have this really bad obsessive personality about food and discovered this spot and Friday and just had to go back on Sunday! The service is really good, even on a Friday night. The staff came and checked on us repeatedly and it was nearly empty when we came around 6pm, but quickly got busier. We still felt all the food came out very timely and did not feel rushed. You can grab veggies and sauces as you want in a self serve bar. I enjoy that there is a good variety of a la carte items like appetizers as well! We loved this experience and want to keep coming back! I am not aware of many other all you can eat hot pot in Oakland so they will keep getting our business! My only complaint or recommendation would maybe be to update the cleaning because there are some parts of the restaurant that don't smell great.

I'm genuinely concerned why this place has such high reviews because I was left disappointed with my family. The bossam pieces were either cut too thick or they were too cooked that it felt like I was chewing on carnitas. They gave like 4 pieces of lettuce for the bossam so we had to ask more. The seafood pancake was so soggy that I wasn't expecting it. Usually you get a crunch. I think they also forgot the dipping sauce to go with it.The galbi jim meat wasn't tender enough like the fall off the bone tenderness. It was tough to chew. The corn cheese lacked mozzarella cheese and kewpie mayo to bring out the flavoring. The snow cheese chicken was the best but we thought it was gonna be a whole fried chicken and not just drums and flats. This is only best when it's hot and fresh so I recommend you finish this at the restaurant! When the bill came, we requested to spilt 3 cards but the server only charged 2 cards and said they don't accept discover. She should've came back and ask if there is another card we can use instead of charging it already. The service was a bit lacking and we came in on a Sunday at 12pm when they opened. Parking was also hard to find as they don't have a parking lot so it's all street parking.

We had lunch for the first time here today and had a great experience! Our waiter, Thomas, provided an awesome service, he was friendly and ensured our food arrived on time. We tried the pan-fried dumplings, fried chicken, japchae, and bulgogi, all of which tasted fresh. Thank you and we'll be back soon!
