Everett and Jones Bbq

I bought lunch, a full rack of pork ribs came with corn bread and 3 sides, cost about $60.50. I asked for the sauce on the sides. It was really tender and really tasty.I also ordered brisket dinner and it came with 2 sides, cost $25.90. Unfortunately the brisket was very dry.We come from Fremont and miss this place, whenever we are in Oakland this is a must go place.

So disappointed with the quality of food now. I grew up eating here and every time I come home I'm less and less impressed. Just picked up an order last night and the ribs were so overcooked. They can't recover. Sauce,water, nothing is helping this meat. It's very dehydrated and dried out. I'm not even sure why they would put this in an order for someone to eat. It is SO tough, I can't.

I'll start by saying The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. The reason for such a low rating is because the street parking is horrible and the bbq was terrible. The potato salad, mac n cheese and red velvet cake(not pictured) were good, although $8 for a slice of cake seems kind of steep. The ribs were soo overcooked they tasted like jerky no amount of bbq sauce could save them. The links were overcooked as well some of the pieces were even wrinkled. The brisket was pretty good, however it seemed like they literally just drizzled a tablespoon of sauce over all the meat. And we won't even talk about the hockey puck burnt cornbread muffin they gave me. For $40 the portion was good, but the quality wasn't. It kind of makes me sad because although I don't live in the Bay Area anymore I had been going to E&J for over 15yrs and I remember how the meats were just so tender and the ribs would literally just slide off the bones. I probably will not be back unfortunately.

Taking Deep Breath......Ohhhh K. I will NOT be back, boy has this place fell off. I bought a 3 way combo of Ribs-Links-brisket. The ribs were over cooked and mushy, I sampled the brisket and tasted like something rotten of chemicals...had to spit it out (for real) & links were mid at best, and do they even season their meats? Seems like they tried to cover the taste with their sauce...and please tell me why I had to pick BITS of potato skin out my mouth with every scoop of potato salad.....EVERY SCOOP. Honestly this was some of the worst BBQ I've ever tasted and sadden to see such a place legendary for the TOWNS foodie scene fall off, had to throw most of it into the trash.

I learned something today. The food at Everett & Jones BBQ (E&J BBQ) on MacArthur Blvd, is not as good as their Jack London Square location. Consistent food quality is a big deal for a restaurant chain. What's that mean? That means if you order a BBQ Rib Dinner at MacArthur, it should be the same as what you get served at Jack London Sq.It's July 4th, and I ordered the BBQ Pork Ribs Dinner w/ Potato Salad & Beans. I had to wait nearly 40-mins for my order! The reason was the ribs were cooking. I was promised "fresh from the oven" juicy and tender ribs. Now, you might say it's a holiday, so maybe they're short staffed. But E&J BBQ went on the morning news in Oakland (KTVU) and told everyone they're open and showed off their food. Maybe that's why they were so busy. But they got the food out, and mine was a takeout order.So I try my food, and those ribs were hellya good! Tender, fall off the bone juicy. I asked for HOT, and it was kinda spicy. A little bit of fat, but I like it like that. The pork ribs were 5-stars, the sides were not. The potato salad was like seasoned mashed potatoes. The beans had no bbq smoky flavor. The cornbread muffin was okay.Everett & Jones BBQ has been around for a long time, and I will continue to support their business.

This is the worst Barbecue I have ever had. The chicken was dry and not even worth eating. The ribs and brisket was horrible as well. The sides are not even a discussion. The service was messed up from the beginning I saw someone come back in missing things I should had took heed to them signs but I figured I try it anyway. Nothing to brag about but now I see why the place was so empty. I went to visit family in Oakland from Sacramento and really wasted $100. We had another plate that was thrown away before I could get a pic of it and my cousin was drunk. Not a comfortable setting to me. I'm not going to recommend this place to anyone but the rest of the franchises maybe better. Dry barbecue chicken is the worst.

Potato salad was ok a little too sweet brisket was too chunky, i like mine a bit thinner slices (personal preference ) flavor of brisket was definitely there. Seasoned well and the signature bbq sauce was good. Ordered the brisket lunch unfortunately they only include potato salad as your side with no substitute. Everything has gone way up in price since I've last got bbq from EV&J . Customer service was great. Very nice employees. They also have great cakes and pies that are very good

I visited Everett & Jones on Monday, 2/6/23, during dinner time. Food: I ordered the Four-Way Combination Plate that came with Ribs, Chicken, Links, and Brisket. For the sides, I got Macaroni & Cheese and Green Beans. Everything tasted delicious, and the Brisket was my favorite. Overall, this place has amazing BBQ food. I recommend coming here.

If I ever order anything else from this restaurant someone needs to slap me! The coleslaw was hideous! For some reason it taste as if they boiled the ribs in plain water then burnt them on the grill!Flavorless, so was the sauce. I've lived in oakland over 30 years and eaten plenty of BBQ, but I will never get it from here again. Years ago it didn't taste like this.

definitely hits the spot where it needs to beThis is definitely a more casual spot if you eat inside.We were on a time crunch so we stopped here instead of a farther food place to grab dinner and there was no regret. Loved the amount of cheeeese that made the Mac n cheese, the collard greens were well tender and seasoned, and the meat? speaks for itselfthe peach cobbler was a lil sweet for my liking but my tastebuds run less sweet than mostdef a place to be at
