Donut Express

Going to keep the review at five stars because this place it what is says it is. Express. On the plus side, friendly staff and yummy donuts. What more do you want? Coffee, tea, and a few baked goods other than donuts, yep, they have that. The limitations of the place are in line with the express nature. No smoothies, no trendy filled muffins, and no hot breakfast sandwiches. Just donuts. Simple. Elegant. Express. So, if your expectations are in line, this place is great. You go in. You get donuts. You go out. The donuts, well, my coworkers tore through them before I could snag a pic. I did manage to eat one, raised with pink frosting. Sweet but light and airy, no aftertaste like with mass produced donuts. Mmm, donuts.

A long wait for poor service and small, mediocre donuts. Do yourself a favor and go to Rudy's Donuts instead

Continuing my CV donut quest, I stopped in at Donut Express, finally trying this place after having driven by it for years. Parking is a bit of a challenge here as there are only a few spots in front so I parked in a lot behind the building and walked around.Inside it's definitely no frills- there are some places to sit but definitely nothing fancy. There was a decent selection of donuts still at about 8:30 on a Tuesday morning so I got a chocolate raised and a blueberry cake. The chocolate was good, nice and fluffy and no oily aftertaste. The blueberry cake was okay- a little soft/soggy in my opinion. I love a good cake donut that's soft inside and a little crunchy as you bite into it but this one was really like cake. Prices were fair, see my photo.

For the donut holes. Probably the most tastiest, fluffiest and perfectly sweet things I've ever had!

These are hands down the best donuts. They are perfect. Not too cakes, not too much glaze and never an after taste like some others in the area. Just perfect. We will wait for donuts rather than go somewhere else.

I came here to drop off a computer that i sold to the owner. He offered to give me a dozen donuts for driving a long ways. I got 4 raised chocolate, 4 raised glazed, two maple twists, maple bar and a fist full of donut holes to fill the box. All of them were really good. Light and fluffy inside with good frosting/glaze. Solid performance there. We ate 'em all. Good thing we exercise. The thing I would nite is that the selection is OK but not awesome. Granted, I was not there at 05:00 when they open. Maybe the selection is better than. It didn't look like they ever have an amazing assortment, however. More like "do a great job on a narrow selection of classics" seems to be the concept. If I'd paid cash, it would be a solid value. Good pricing overall. No frills shop - not a hangout. You can hang out, but it is pretty spare. More like, get your stuff and go. Not a huge customer chat heavy dialog with the counter person either. Nobody is hostile, just seems to be very functional. Overall, a great local resource for putting good donuts in the break room or conference table as we return to the office!

There are three types of donuts shops: polished chains, hipster shops with crazy flavor and unicorn frosting, and solid mom and pop shops. This is the third. Not as polished and showy but standard fair with no nonsense stoic store owners. They seem to run out pretty quick. Not sure it's bc they don't make a lot of bc they sell out quick but by 9am a lot was gone.

Fresh donuts and good coffee- fabulous combination! Add in the friendly service and plenty of space to hang out and it's a winner!
