Crogan's Montclair

Back again and again. It's the neighborhood gem.Their burger is fantastic.I brought a few friends here recently that have never been here before, and they really loved it. They keep asking to come back. That's a good sign!

What could be improved? The food. It's over priced and not good. I had fish and chips. The fish had the hardest, toughest batter and the fish was dry and overcooked. Or had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. It was not a filet. More like fish sticks. Cole slaw had no dressing and no flavor. Fries were fine, but if you ordered just an order of fries it would set you back about $9! For fried potatoes! And onion rings are 2 figures! I think $13!!! Crazy prices for frozen food that isn't prepared well. What's good? The beer and the chilled glasses. The service in the bar was excellent. Our server, Christian took good care of us. Come on, Crogans. You gotta do better. Great location. Perfect spot for locals. Fix the food!

Food is always great drinks are on point and it's a great place to stop after hitting golf balls and a long day at work ... everyone is easy going as well I highly recommend this place !! Service is dope and I haven't had a bad time ! Also I love thine old Irish bar style !!

Fun, friendly, family local pub! Had a margarita with a great friend and had fast service with a smile! Margarita was perfectly yummy and we will be back again!

Love this neighborhood gem.Drinks are on point- I do wish they had an espresso machine for an espresso martini They should offer carajillo instead and just get the licor for that and offer it whenever anyone asks for an espressy martiniI love anything blackened anything here. They do NOT overcook the blackened salmon and it's delicious every time, which i love. I'm honestly always skeptical to get salmon at restaurants and Crogans has never failed me. My friend loves their fried zucchini and I love the popcorn shrimp. Their calamari looks sad, but it's actually quite good.They have specials often, which makes me think they are having fun in the kitchen, which in turn makes me happy. I look forward to one day seeing fish and chips on their specials, since their clam chowder is pretty good. Oh yea, and the bar section really feels like a bar. I've watched Warriors finals games here too and it was fun. Al thought during the week some people really bring their children there Their dining section is super cute and really that's where the children should be at, in my opinion.

Crogans is a solid go to. I've eaten there in person twice and quite a few times via Uber Eats. When in person the service was decent. I've eaten the following:Braised Short Rib: Tasty and tender but could have used more seasoningPotato Skins: DeliciousBlack bean nachos: Yummy - lots of high quality cheese and I add steak.Steak and salad: Super fresh and a good portion of steak. I would request the meat be done a bit more. I want to say it was medium rare. But I will order againWhen you order with uber they give you a free cookie.The price point is a bit high but all the ingredients are high qualityI like that the items come in containers that can be composted.

Really enjoyed the cheesesteak and the wings I got today! Service was awesome and the happy hour is nice as well.

Cute pub and restaurant. Nestled in Montclair and close to many walkable establishments. Seated quickly inside. Arrangements for food is regular fare for pub food. We ordered: fish & chips, a burger with sweet potato fries, French onion soup and calamari (not pictured). Overall, Food came out hot and tasty, and welcoming atmosphere for quick bite and friendly banter amongst comrades. Would come back if in the area.

Good Restaurant for networking meeting.I attended an networking even at Crogan's. The restaurant and the food are good. However, the networking venue is way too small for our meeting. We end up bit too overcrowded and loud.

Too hot to cook tonight. We asked the guy at Crogan's front desk before putting in our take-out order: "The Fish and Chips come with Tartar Sauce, right?". Ordered Braised Short Ribs ($24.95): came without either soup or green salad. Not even a roll or piece of bread. Tasted fine but could've been seasoned more. It was overcooked to point of shredded meat rather than a braised rib. "Garlic" mashed potatoes: garlic might have been in the kitchen nearby.ANDFish & Chips ($17.95): got 6 ketchups and no tartar sauce. Fish & batter bland, bland, bland. Tartar sauce might have helped but...Should've just defrosted something from the freezer and saved both trip and $$.
