Eric R. "First thing I always do with Pho. Taste the broth. Then, decide what it needs. I don't just start grabbing the bottles and randomly squeezing sauces and spices in. Well, this broth needed nothing! I could taste the cinnamon, the star anise and the misc. spices required for good broth. This broth was made right and with love! I added the basil, bean sprouts, chili peppers and the lemon juice. Wow! This was a good bowl of Pho. Perfect amount of meat and a piece with every bite of noodles. The noodles were not overdone or soggy. This is honestly one of the best Pho I have ever had. Plus, no MSG hangover. I actually felt good after my meal.Solid, clean and nice place. I will return for Bun, next time, as that is my most favorite. Today, I felt a cold coming and knew I better get Pho. This Pho hit the spot and cleared me up. Excellent!"

This place is super close to my home, and I've passed by so many times without trying it, now I wish I had known sooner just how incredible it is. Everything we ordered was delicious! The portions are huge, so depending on your appetite, one dish can easily be shared between two people. We had the house-made garlic bread, and wow, even Italian restaurants could take notes from this place! We also tried the vegetable laksa noodle soup, chicken lemongrass noodle soup, Thai Massaman fried chicken with rice, and Massaman shrimp with rice, all absolutely fantastic. For drinks, we ordered a round of boba drinks, and I loved the crème brûlée one! Mine was super sweet since I ordered it at 100% sugar, but I'd definitely recommend cutting it to 50% for a perfect balance. The staff was polite, the ambiance was cozy, and just a heads-up, come early because the wait times can be long. Highly recommend this spot, and I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!"

The service is outstanding, with attentive staff who are friendly, efficient, and always ready to assist. From the moment you're seated, you feel well taken care of, and any questions about the menu are met with thoughtful recommendations and a warm attitude. One of the most impressive aspects of this spot is how quickly the food arrives. Despite the care that goes into each bowl, the wait time is remarkably short, making it a perfect option for a quick lunch or dinner. You'll be enjoying a steaming, aromatic bowl of pho in no time. The pho itself is exceptional -- rich, savory broth with a depth of flavor that tastes like it's been simmering for hours. The noodles are perfectly tender, and the fresh toppings like Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeños let you customize each bite to your liking. The protein options, from tender beef slices to juicy chicken and flavorful meatballs, are all cooked to perfection. With its attentive service, fast food delivery, quiet ambiance and incredibly flavorful pho, this spot is a standout. I could see how it could be a problem during peak times. The food was plentiful. Even with all the food being on a warming tray, it seemed fresh. We got a few combo plates for takeout and the portion size was humongous. Literally, we could have shared one plate and still had a ton of left overs. The restaurant name is very well deserved because yummy was the first thing I thought when I bit into the sandwich. Soft bread center, but still a toasted on the outside, fresh bread. Delicious pickled vegetables, and the meats are so fresh and tasty. Super fast and great customer service too. There are a couple of small tables inside and a couple outside (great for the upcoming season, especially since it's starting to warm up). I also wanted to commend how kind the staff were because the owner's husband called her and told her to tell me I had a flat tire, I had no idea. She was really kind to let me know and then I was able to get a tow truck. She let me stay inside and sit while I wait since it was chilly. Super grateful for the kindness that was shown and I can't wait to try their bo kho and grab a couple more banh mis to go next time :)"

As soon as we walked in, an employee asked if we wanted to sit in the corner furthest from the door "to keep baby warm" from the draft of the front door. I thought that was really nice of them to think about that cause I didn't!Now onto the important part--the pho! We all ordered different pho's and we all enjoyed it. Did we think it was the best pho ever? No. But it definitely satisfied our pho cravings. I did feel insanely thirsty after the meal but it was worth it. My mom says that their regular bowl of pho is a dollar cheaper at their other location lol They give you a huge plate of veggies, which I feel is rare these days. We got a few orders of com tam for the road and although it didn't look like much at first glance, the portions were great! I would definitely order again. One of the employees was taking their lunch break at a table next to us and despite her being on break, she still helped us when my mom kept asking her questions. Knowing that the Vietnamese community is so strong here - Their soup has be cooking none stop for that deep broth that a lot of other places strive for but within a shorter cooking time. This place, the ambiance is golden. Beautifully picturesque, clean, spacious, and organized - we absolutely knew we were in for a whole 'nother experience that what we've been privy to. When we first got there, the staff was super nice and was able to seat us as soon as we walked in the door. The servers were especially patient with us as we needed some time to look over the menu (we did not know about the hype) and was able to order the San Jose Bowl with additional bone marrow and ribs, Cowboy Pho with side of boneless ribs, and a few drinks. I did not know that the additional ribs would be so huge! I thought that they brought us both orders of ribs and mistakenly forgot about the boneless ribs but when they came back with the boneless ribs I was shocked at how much food I had ordered! The bone marrow. WOW. That gave the soup another level of texture! Let's not forget about the broth, so deep and flavorful. Don't even dare drench that bowl of soup with sauces until you taste the soup. I can't stop thinking about this soup. It was rememberable!"

John D. "Khanh Do AttitudeLocally-owned mom-and-pop restaurant that's been serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine to the South Bay for nearly forty-five years (1981).They've moved around quite a bit over the years, with their last location being on Winchester Blvd across from The Row. This current location (±3yrs) is at the old Carrow's (RiP), and is well-suited for them and their clientele. The Good:*Private parking lot, as well as street parking available. *Great service and not at all like your typical ESSJ Viet restaurant, where they rush you thru and treat you like garbage. *Private party room available (min 25 max 40)*Nothing says class like smooth jazz in the background. :)*Booths!! I friggin love booths. :)))*Bottled beers (nothing fancy) and wine*Fresh Rolls (aka Gỏi Cuốn) were fresh and tasty, and I liked that they gave you options and price breaks on how many rolls you want (2,4, or 6). My only complaint was the dipping sauce wasn't the typical peanut sauce but soy sauce and a handful of peanuts thrown in. I mean it was fine once I added some Sriracha and hoisin to it, but still a bit odd. *Vietnamese Beef Stew (aka Bò Kho) was delicious and one of the best renditions I'd had in a while. The broth had a nice deep flavor and all the veggies and beef were cooked to perfection. My only complaint was I wish it had more beef, but that's always my complaint. *oink oink* :8)*Speaking of the Bò Kho, I got the more traditional baguette to go along with it and it was phenomenal. I'm not sure if they make it on house, but it was a very good baguette. I bet their bánh mìs are fantastic.*Carissa loved their Ginger Chicken (aka Gà Kho Gừng) as the chicken was cooked and seasoned nicely and the dish was filled with great ginger flavor. The Meh:*No outdoor diningThe Ugly:*I saw a few reviews on here stating that the food isn't "authentic" (whatever that means) but that's pure horseshit. Combined, we've eaten at dozens of Vietnamese restaurants throughout the country, so while we might not be the arbiters of what's "authentic" and what's not, I think we know anglicized cuisine when we see it--and this ain't it. Sure, the clientele is a bit sus, but we're in Campbell for fuck's sake. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Conclusion: Good food, great service, and terrific ambiance."

I've been going to this spot for years, and every time it absolutely hits the spot. It is not the most glamorous interior, but it is clean, authentic, and service is polite. It's good food without the restaurant faff. I do prefer this location over the Santa Clara one. It is more down to earth, and the dipping sauce tastes better IMOThey specialize in bahn cuon, which are rice rolls which come with various fixins. I've tried their different bahn cuon dishes, and I always come back to #11, the combo mixed plate. It is a perfect 10/10 dish full of umami, textures, and fresh elements. Every bite is unique and when you dip it into their fish sauce dipping sauce, with a bit of chili sauce, it is, 'Muah! Chef's kiss.' Despite it coming with a few fried items (sweet potato and shrimp fritter, mung bean ball, and spring roll), it is balanced out by the steamed rolls and cha lua, and fresh veggies, so I never end up feeling weighed down after finishing the plate Also can't ignore dish #51, which is a DIY spring roll platter. It's a huge amount of food, which is perfect for sharing. We love the version with the grilled meat balls. Again, there is a lot going on here, from the large collection of herbs and lettuce, to the fried crunchy element, to the bouncy savoury meatballs, to the sheets of noodles that you can add it. It inspires me to make more spring rolls at home each time. Credit card is accepted. He walked over and brought them home for lunch. I got the grilled chicken and he got the combo. I was surprised by how big they were as soon as he took them out of the bag. We've eaten a lot of banh mi in Oakland and San Leandro and these were definitely some of the most generous we've eaten. The bread was perfect. Crispy, crunchy, but soft on the inside. They put a good amount of grilled chicken in mine; in fact, the entire sandwich was stuffed from end to end with meat, cucumbers, carrots, jalapeños, and cilantro. It was fantastic. But be warned: the jalapeños packed a legit punch. My husband really liked his sandwich and said he had nothing to complain about. These were cheap, too, something like $8.75 for mine and $11 and some change for my husband's. We'll probably never see the banh mi of the good old days when they were a few bucks and the Bay Area was still cool, but these at least weren't three times the price and half the size. It's also one of the few pho locations with wide (fresh) noodles.I've been to Pho Ha Noi many times since it has opened. Sadly the restaurant did start with a cheaper menu and larger portions but gradually decided cut down their own spending at expense of the customers paying more. There is a mandatory 18% tip for any dine in now, so we try to get takeout when we can.All the beef noodle pho are similar and pretty customizable, but I like to get the flap and boneless rib meat pho (p9). My family also enjoys sharing the roasted kui fei chicken with sticky rice or tomato rice, as well as the appetizer rolls.I've noticed the food is never consistent, especially the soup. My friends have complained the soups have either been too salty or too diluted. Today it was slightly more peppery than usual, but it still satisfies my occasional cravings. As for the peanut sauce that comes with the rolls, today there was rarely any peanut flavor in there. I also tried the grilled pork once and it was so dry I had to pack it up to go.* I'm not sure what they put in their sticky rice, but it's crack: maybe it's the fried onion pieces or the spices they used but there's such a nice texture and aroma to it, I even like to eat it by itself. My usual go to's are the egg rolls, spring rolls, white meat chicken pho and I get fresh rice noodles when I'm feeling sick (easily 2 meals), or combo vermicelli. The beef pho is also good and usually recommend eating in store for that. Not many places have good chicken pho and it's usually hard to decide what to order since everything is bomb! The portions and packaging including the veggie sides are well packaged and they give a lot compared to other Vietnamese spots (ex: Tay Ho in Santa Clara portions are terrible and similar price). Most of the entrees I feel like could be 2 meals even the vermicelli I have a hard time eating it all one sitting (at least when I get orders to go).
